I'm supposed to be performing this next week, and it's the first time I've ever done this style. Had a bad vocal day and I was so stressed about this, as I kept singing the song like a pop song or with bad technique and I was about ready to cry. This has helped me so much and definitely calmed me down slightly, definitely still terrified though. Thank you!
@@crazyskz-h5n Well done for giving it a go. If you practice it to vowels only, then put the consonants back in with good diction, you'll get the sound you want. Let me know how you go. You can email me via my website singing lessons.online 😁🎶
@@KimFsharpHarp It's great! These "early" arias were the grandparents of modern opera and precipitated the Bel Canto movement! Let me know how you get on, or if you need any further help. 😁🎶

Thank you Lois for this fabulous breakdown of ‘Caro Mio Ben’. Your lessons on song repertoire are invaluable to me. I have only just reached the point in my singing journey of being able to sing the higher notes of this song with relative ease and freedom. So I much appreciate your guidance on this and other songs that I look forward to singing. I also play piano, so I plan on accompanying myself.
I really love your lessons , you analyze everything in detail and very systematic. I have benefitted a lot. Hopefully my singing will improve and have the confidence to sing in front of people. Thanks so much.
Thank you for breaking this down. My vocal teacher challenged me to do this song since Im a heavy rocker guy! I took him up on it and its been a great experience learning something different and new since i never heard it before and never spoke Italian! Your breakdown is amazing and very easy to follow. Even an old fart like me stuck in my ways can do something different. Love your voice too.

Absolutely beautiful song! You made it so easy and simple for senior beginner to learn how to sing this piece. Truly, you are an awesome teacher. Thank you so much. God bless you. 😄❤️🙏💐
@@jeanstromberg6354 Yes, it's a long phrase which goes low in the voice which uses more air. Take time for the breath after "men" (it's easy to rush it and only get a partial breath). It could also be that your overall speed is too slow, and singing it a fraction faster might help too. If all else fails, I always think it is far better to take an extra breath ( after di te) than lose the quality of your sound because you're struggling to squeeze the last air out. 😁🎶

Too short phrases. Caro mio ben, credi mi almen is one phrase etc. Mio is not myo. These are two syllables mi-o and first one has an accent. Sam as TUO: You have to pronounce tu- o with accent on TU. And on the end, your voice is full of undesired tremolo. This is not a good example for this song.
