5 Tips to Sing High: Reach High Notes with Confidence
I recognized the notes immediately without reference note, but I don't have a perfect pitch. There's something in between perfect pitch and relative pitch, I believe the division line can be blurred, pitch memory can be trained. I studied composition at Prague Conservatory, just years of training. I also had this ability when I was a kid, no big deal.
@@Honzinus78 I agree. I think there are various degrees of relative pitch, and it's something you can practice and improve. Perfect pitch is absolutely black and white though - you either have it or you don't. 🎶😁
This will give me an edge in my crossword puzzles, thanks!
the intro was so exciting that i will be devastated if i dont have like relative pitch or anything

Could not find a free PDF of O Sole Mio. This song is actually a dialect of the Italian language. It's a Neapolitan dialect, not classic Italian.
@@samuelm.5752 Hi there! This is the free pdf I used:- kulturakademin.se/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/O-sole-mio.pdf Neapolitan just means someone who comes from Naples, or the dialect spoken in Naples. It's still very recognisably Italian though. The link to the pdf is also right at the bottom of the "description" on the video. Let me know if you're still stuck! 🎶😁
@ Thank you!
With all due respect, Nessun Dorma can't be sung nasally. Choristers might sing it this way, but a real tenor rendition of Nessun Dorma is not sung that way. Anyone can sing Nessun Dorma like a pop song in any comfortable key, but the real thing is a completely different beast. It may be short, but it is as intense as any piece of vocal music can get... Quite a journey from start to finish.
@@cavaradossi7761 Thank you for sharing your opinion. I believe that music belongs to no-one in particular, and anyone can sing Nessun Dorma in whatever style or key they choose. This channel is carefully curated to be inclusive and joyful. If ND were only ever sung by tenors of Pavarotti's calibre it would be sung very rarely indeed, and that would be a tragedy indeed. Happy singing. 😁🎶
Amazing, thank you.
@@limepiper3650 You're welcome! Thanks for singing with me. 😁🎶
I've practised the Caro mio ben. This is the first classical piece I've ever done in my life as I've been doing gospel and pop all my life which requires a lot of belting. I'm so scared but I'll like to send it to your email but I just would love to say thank you ❤❤

Thank you Lois. I will keep Arpegio in my mind for part of my practice. I’m looking forward to my next lesson. Practice is going well, and I’ve gotten used to my new job enough where I’m finding I can practice singing or just simply find myself singing to myself quite a bit while working. You will be happy to know I’m on a solid streak of a couple of days on my Messa Di Voce practice. Even when I am very tired I do a quick warmup and try to go for at least 5 minutes of that exercise daily.
@@MatthewThomas-ye1ei Congratulations on getting into a MdV groove! After sirens, it's the best thing you can do for your voice/singing. I can give you a great arpeggio exercise when we zoom next week! Happy singing! 😁🎶
I think this one you called ‘consonant activating exercise or Fat Cat, Pink Pig is one I can really gain a lot from now. Any tips on getting more advanced in applying that exercise?
@@MatthewThomas-ye1ei Hello there! Well, there's always the one where you practice almost shouting, but hiss the words instead. Imagine you're going to yell "Hey you" at the top of your voice, but stop yourself at the last second and spit the words out in a hiss. You can then try it with the first words of your current song. See you at your next lesson, and we can talk about this some more! 😁🎶
So glad I found you. Not my first singing lesson, I already have experience. But this year, I gave myself the goal to train my voice a little more classically than Pop music-oriented, and this video was a great first start. Very well explained and you seem very sweet <3

Embouchure help on the vowels sounds, correct?
@@samuelm.5752 Think of it as keeping a huge "ah" space inside your mouth and moving your lips/tongue as little as possible to form the vowels. 😁🎶
What's always knowing if the note is wrong? Probably pitch relative and a coping mechanism

Can tenors also fully benefit with these classical singing lessons you being a soprano? I noticed I can follow your soprano voice but in a lower tenor register. I guess baritones and bass voices would not work to follow your voice.
Hi there! Yes, the tenor range is similar to the soprano range, but down an octave, and the baritone range is similar to the mezzo, but down the octave. I often choose mezzo keys for tutorials so that the majority of voice types can join in. I hope that helps? 😁🎶
Great practice

@floristafrohlich9739 Hi! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. All those sounds are important in singing. Are you asking about a particular exercise? I'm happy to help, but just need a bit more context. I'll look forward to hearing back from you. 😁🎶
@@singingtips1 Thank's for the quick reply! 😃Yes, i would like to extend my range upwards and saw in one of your recent videos that you recommend sirens on m for activating head voice. Some people also recommend ng for that and i just wanted to know which consonant or sound is best for activating the higher register. Thank you so much for your great content!🌸
@floristafrohlich9739 Hi! The best sirens for high notes start low on an "oo" vowel, then open up into the "wow" space at the top, then going back to "oo" as you descend. I'll see if I can find a demonstration video for you and send you the link. 😁🎶
