Don't listen to them, Tyler - I love those rims much more than the stock star ones. You'll LOVE this car until the first couple of REALLY expensive repairs. I still say enjoy it until this Fall, store it for the Winter, and sell it next Spring when convertibles start going up again. Get out while the getting's good. Have fun til then!

I love how you managed to get one of the most (considered) "unreliable" cars ever. Fitting for the hoopty fleet no doubt. But then it was a cheap fix, and now it's awesome! I hope it lasts awhile with minimal trouble to put the rumors of nightmare 355 ownership to rest.

No wonder the second gear synchromesh breaks on these with that kind of sound! It's impossible to not keep your foot piled in to the carpet!! My dad had a 1996 355 Berlinetta in Yellow back in 1998 - 2003, it was awesome! Hearing yours brings back some fond memories!
That McIntosh amplifier with the VU meters is worth $1000 plus alone! Head unit is expensive too and I'm sure you most likely have upgraded speakers in the doors too. Need to show some video of the meters moving on the amplifier....very cool!
I guess it's something American - putting wheels on every car, even an old Ferrari. IMO, nothing wrong putting rims on a new car (lets say max. 7 years old). After that you should bring back the old rims, because I think rims on older cars give the car a 'trashy' look.

well, like many exotics, you might be able to afford to buy one, but the repairs and maintenance will kill you. In the 80's I had someone approach me with a 911 turbo carrera that (if memory serves) was worth about $80K and he HAD to get rid of it for $35K. I had the money but it needed brakes and tires ($10K) and insurance was $8K a month....(10% of the value of the car was the going rate then).
To anyone saying he's going to go bankrupt, consider this: He bought this car for $48,000. Assuming this car is in decent shape overall, this car on the normal market is worth probably $60,000-$75,000. That means he can spend up to $27,000 in repair bills and still own it for free.
How is that free? Wouldn't that come out to be him paying 60-75k? Lol. He probably paid a little less depending on how much he bought and put into his nsx, but that's hardly free. Haha
+bjorn Olson - I think the point was, it will be "free" usage when he sells it for market value and it cost nothing to own, even if he has incurred repairs. But you're right, if he keeps it and ends up putting it $30k in repairs, he will be into it for $75k, which is NOT free.

The farthest I go with exotics are corvettes/Porsche/bmw/Mercedes but yours is kinda growing on me. Love the wheels and the look by the way. Just make sure you dont die in it. I have had friends die in them. Number one rule do not die in the Ferrari!!! Its so hard to tell when your going to fast sometimes. I think your seeing that or I hope so. Congrats again that is a special ride.
In the first few videos I got the impression you could not afford this car if/when it broke, and the anxiety you always had while driving it, made it not worth it! But clearly this car makes you so excited, it's definitely worth spending whatever money you need to "invest" in order to keep it on the road!
Good for you man! Your Black Beauty there is one of the best deals I’ve ever seen. The 355 is probably the most beautifully sounding Ferrari ever made and I’ve always thought the “Casa Bonita” haha or Berlinetta as my favorite. Mine will be a red coupe and it probably won’t be as sweet a deal as yours!
While I am not a big Ferrari fan, I agree this one is absolutely beautiful. It is not overly designed and garish in any way. It is classic and understated, which is rare for a Ferrari. It is nice to see someone really enjoy their car. I can certainly relate to that!

Honestly, I prefer the body lines of the spider. I typically hate convertibles, like I will sometimes disregard a car if it has a drop top. But the 355 spider has such a perfect shape, it's like one single movement without much interruption from a roof. 9/10 hoovie
Cory Spears a ciggie and coffe is always the answer in Italy and France. 8 years ago (this week) i was in france, between Nice and Monaco, a small village with a historic church, as we was there a school coach trip pulled up, off jumped the teachers and the kids, 13 to 16 yo, and almost everyone of them lit up a smoke. It seemed bizarre, considering in the UK smoking bans was coming in, and everything was turning anti smoking, then all these kids and teachers all having a smoke together, on the school trip. I'm my day we played cat and mouse with the teachers to have a crafty smoke.

You feel the speed in this car AND you can be on the throttle without being at full on lose your license speeds (just really expensive ticket speeds). The new cars are just so fast I wouldn't trust myself to not lose my license quickly.

Well done, this is probably the only time you will be congratulated for one of your car purchases :) It seems like you have $2-3K of stereo system in there (at current used prices)
Please put a towel in between the clear back plastic window to reduce scratching upon lowering and raising. Also use good plastic wax thats used on Boat tops for further protection
