    Great review video! What lut or grading did you use to get that color s with the Komodo (0:37)? Cheers.

      That is just the standard Red lut and graded in premiere. I sometimes use FilmConvert or Dehancer but that's usually when I'm going for a specific look. I also have a black satin filter on the lens.

    You don’t need to black shade every time, just in extreme temperature changes. The DSMC3 is a lot less sensitive to change than earlier bodies.

      Don't wait too long. A new camera might come out! lol. I waited a long time before I pulled the trigger on the Komodo and R3. It's a big decision and I'm really glad I waited.

      Glad you liked it! Still a great combo. It’s always nice to have 2 cameras!

    Absolutely love my OG komodo. I will continue to pull the most out of it with fantastic lenses which make 40% more of a difference and lighting and planning which 30% the camera sensor makes the other 30%. I really am happy as i dont shoot slow motion. I also have not needed to black shade anywhere remotely as much as some youtubers have complained about hmm. Understanding the camera inside out encluding understanding how to expose properly with it also changes things. The global shutter also keeps me from looking at any alternatives.

      Well said. Filmmaking is so much more than a camera, but I do love this camera!

      @JeremyWalton yes for sure. I will not sell this camera until I have exhausted its capabilities. If you have used its files especially HQ!! captured with cinema glass or fd glass which I am using right now. GEEEEZZZ!! Having fun moding lenses at the moment.

    This could almost be an ad for the Komodo - in the best sense of the word (i.e. it’s not a disguised promo). 😀

    So what about fx3 in the Creator? Have your thoughts changed now?

    • @anthonyrock5039
      @anthonyrock5039 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The FX3 is nice as well if you couple it with the $18,000.00 lens, location, a massive crew of lights and $80,000,000 in VFX. 358 people at the top of their game and 33 people in the camera department. There were many other talented people envolved.

      @@JeremyWalton a lot of the keyboard cinematographers/TH-camrs do a disservice to people on their journey by making it seam like all you need is camera body(x) and boom! Feature film or low light sensor(y) framerate(z) and you will get all the cinematic fairy dust dollars 💵 sprinkled on you to get that film festival win 🏆.
      Every 2 years or less there has been a new camera replacing the last yet people forget that even 10/20 years ago, there were beautiful “award winning” films and docs made with gear people would say are essentially unusable. At the same time, if you plan your shots, light them properly learn how to use the gear we have and rent what we don’t, we can make magic all day and night long. On some sets I’m on, the set ups are soooo gorgeous that a webcam would look wayyyy better than an Arri LF with masterprimess with no light set up in my house with no planning.
      Yes this Kowa evolution anamorphics are like $18k each that were used on the fx3 but there are some beautiful affordable lenses like canon FD SSC sets.

    A camera is usually useless after 1 year. We always sell our cameras every one year.
