    6:51 using a racing CDI will do little to nothing as far as increasing spark.... if anything it'll have improper timing, or misfire a lot when you need it to. long and short of it, you'll see less performance increase, and in the best case scenario you'll get up to 30-35mph like a half second faster, if that.... it doesn't increase the speed at all

    LOL I did everything for my fucking GY6 motorcycle scooter I went big and not
    home like what you said I'm pretty much the exact same thing I rather go big or go home. I bought all the high performance parts inside my bike now I'm working
    Moore on the the outside layer of my bike now the rest of the parts are coming in that I ordered for the inside now I'm going to try to finish the outside by high-performance handlebars lever and maybe some more stickers change out
    my seat to a more performance racing seat change out my front reflector to a darker orange one. Already what my rear shocks already came in I just ordered my freaking front one it's a used one from Kymco that's a Taiwan bike so much higher quality in Chinese so I'm going to clean it up take the rust off of it and put it on my front shocks for my 50cc TaoTao
    and I'm obviously going to swap out my side kickstand panel and then crap I'll be done after I do that and change out my mirrors. LOL even got me a nitrous can for a small tiny one LOL

    This is nothing but a sales pitch. your exhaust is the majority of air flow restriction. That cheap ass air filter is a waste of your time and money. Your plugs unless they are missing here and there which I doubt. This will do nothing. The carb is possibly the only thing that might help you here. I recommend getting it elsewhere. Because this guy seems like a scam artist.

      @krazor8 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      jasontd1984 well on. My Tao Tao go kart, the airborne is highly in effective at caching dirt and such in the filter(basically moves around it to to poor design). This may be a sells pitch but a uni filter, exhaust, and bigger better carb(within reason) will improve performance, no by alot, may get u 5-10mph... On mine j went from 35 max with a 150cc gy6 to 45 max with intake carb and exhaust

      jasontd1984 increase ignition? Longer and more powerfull. Sure melt your piston. The carb ya agree k&n filter bullshit. These engines knock so easily get more air an fuel in it with manufacturers already warn for the possibility of knocking. Although i used to race 2 strokes they have less time to cool the piston you dont want a longer more inense spark. K&N style filters dont work. You can try. Want it faster. Vario transmission. These engines dont like 6000 + rpm for long periods i agree this is an add.

    • @pwollerman
      @pwollerman 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Um, Nooo. Anyone who tries to tell you that a CDI "causes your coil to ignite faster" (6.00) is the jackass. More fool you if you think this guy knows that much about motorcycle engines. He's just making a sales pitch with an unfortunate penchant for hyperbole.

      You're right, A bigger exhaust is necessary.. it's like sex.. "What goes in, must come out" .. but, 2 stroke scooters are little different when it comes to pipes.. Restrictions and sound waves keep the burning fuel from exiting too soon..

    How about the rain when it on that air filter

  • @JohnnyUkeOfficial
    @JohnnyUkeOfficial 6 ปีที่แล้ว +24

    I would NEVER recommend a pop filter on a scooter. It doesn't have to rain for water to get into the carburetor. Small puddles of water or debris can damage the engine. There's a reason why the stock intake is built that way to prevent all that. Yes the pop filter makes it breathe better but there's also a great risk of getting foreign objects into the carburetor and ultimately the engine.

      I have put k and n air filter for the past 5 years on my bike and my engine did not damage, and k and n air filter will absorb water and debris on the k and n air filter, this video is true, before I see this video I already have all these 4 things and my chopper really increase it speed, my next upgrade is cold air intake

    As soon as i started watching this video i had a feeling its purpose was to sell crappy parts that do not mean a thing to anyone who knows these scooters...Blah,blah,blah...I drive my gy6 150 cc daily some 4 to 5 hours non stop all over the city..and i do not recommend any of this stuff..I am a real mechanic,i just do not do it for other ppl...It does not matter if the filter is K & N or a cheap chinese filter,the same with carbs..All the hype about performance parts that are not meant for daily riding..If you use one of these filters you need to use a foam cover to prevent dust from getting into the carb and the engine as well..And if you do, you need to oil the foam to trap all the dirt contained in the air,however,if it rains,this fllter can let the water into your engine and cause more damage than good..More spark,bigger explosion = More heat,oil breaks down faster,parts wear out faster...i use a 100 jet on a regular carb,stock filter,regular gas with 2 stroke marine oil added to it,regular 10 w 30 oil with stp oil treatment,i add 110 ml to a quart..18 g roller weights with an inner face as large or larger than the outer one,genuine powerlink gates belt,1000 rpm contra spring and 1000 rpm springs..my belts last up to a year and a half or longer..i also use a crankcase breather..Now,the break in proccess is vital..if you break it in slow you get blow bye and you will get an under performing engine...Break it in wisely,warm it up and ride for five minutes at a time opening and closing the throttle as if you were sanding the pistons against the cylinder wall..Do not over heat the motor...Open that throttle gradually in every run...i change my oil after 30 miles...by the time i change that oil my engine is broken in guatanteed..Take short runs and open that throttle..in my third run of 2 to 3 miles each ,my scooter has already reached 45 miles...throttle up and down constantly for no longer than 15 minutes and let it rest..i have done this more than a few times..My 150 cc has 30000 something miles on it and i drive it every day on deliveries back to back..I put a fan to cool the valve cover and my temp on the head is never over 100 F...good luck with these performance crap..thank you

    "People think air is forced through these holes. This is not true." "We need to force more air into the engine"
    How the F do you increase a faster ignition? It actually makes the electricity travel faster? Or are you saying the stock cause a slower collapse of the primary? (also idiotic) LOL
    Changing the timing sure.

      Most Chinese scooter engines only are good for a few thousand miles anyway. The beach cruiser engine kits for a bike are only good for about 1,200-1,500miles anyway. Some of the Chinese engines don't even have valve guides. The valve stems just move up and down in a hole in your aluminium head.

    dont listen to this dude, jandjpowersports suck. if you want a faster 50cc scooter add a bigborekit i have a taotao 139qmb if you have one add a 100cc big bore kit, i never put a performance carb on my scooter not needed but if you know what youre doing you also need to tune the carb for your specific scooter. another piece to get more power is the cvt, if you tune the cvt right it can boost you from 35 mph to 40 or even more. his air intake is trash, water gets into your carb and it tends to flood your carb. DONT BUY HIS CDI!!! 90gtvert made a video showing how that "performance cdi" has no performace and the stock cdi is actually better.....

      What about scooters like the metropolitan and metropolitan II where the engineers made it 2 different ways during the same year, which way is right? Or when they themselves changed the ecu so the rev limiter was higher in 2006 for a higher top speed, but what do the engineers know? Or the better 4 valve get2 engine i hear they got in Europe. Engineers designed the same scooters differently sometimes for better emissions, moped laws and other laws, customer demand, depending where they are sold, etc and the metropolitan is proof.

And if it's a Chinese scooter for durability replace the battery the drive belt with a Kevlar drive belt and the tire valve stems replace all fuel lines fuel filter and gas shut off That's about all you can do..... You want anything better do a big bore kit or buy a better scooter

    • @mixnation79
      @mixnation79 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @OGkillaz94 Sadly most new scooters come with the carb bowl mounted with snap off bolts. Once they bolt/screw the bowl on, the heads of the bolts/screws snap off so they can't be removed. You have to drill them out which is not a huge deal but for some people it is.

    This guy is full of poop trying to sell his products. No gy6 part costs even close to 99 dollars. That orange coil and that supposed racing cdi is Chinese made and u can get both for under 20 bucks on amazon or eBay. And they don’t do anything anyway I’ve tried everything to make the 49 cc go faster. The only thing that will make it go faster is a 100cc big bore kit, or a 150cc engine swap. And for the engine swap u need to actually do some welding. So unless ur a welder u can do the bore kit

    The reason they put that large airbox on there is for sound, look under the hood of your car and you'll see a similar set up . Also the manufacturer does not make every effort to slow down your scooter, it's not a big conspiracy, how would that benefit them? And finally there's a lot more physics to it than just big air box or pop filter, for example you lose velocity when you use that little filter over the stock box

    compares the guy with a race car to the guy with a 50cc scooter hahahaha......The 50cc motor ANY OF THEM ARE NOT EVEN BLUE PRINTED hahahhaha come on!! He uses the term or says " to get more performance out of any engine you have to "FORCE" more air and fuel into it" well now.....Are we adding a turbo or blower kit to our 50cc scooter? For that is the ONLY way to "FORCE" air and fuel into a motor......IF not blown or turbo charged well now, it takes about 13:1 pistons, a HUGE lift and duration camshaft, THEN you MIGHT NEED YOUR LITTLE CUTE scooter spark system....ahhahahahaha FOR REAL CMON!! I watched a guy test the stock coil and CDI against three other performance ones....THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE really....There is a VERY SLIGHT diff ONLY at take off for by the time ALL of them hit the higher RPM's the advance and EVERYTHING was not enough to screw with! Not by a LONG WAY!! haha The only REAL item he speaks of in this video that would be worth spending any money on to make a scooter faster is the better carb.....YES one that can easily change out jets and also has air/fuel tuning screws NOW THAT IS A BONUS! Well it is for me, with the big bore 72cc kit and performance pipe, for yet again, on a 2 cycle the pipe does almost 80% of the acceleration benefit, along with maybe and I did say MAYBE, variator work and clutch work, as in different spring in clutch pads AND the main spring along with the correct rollers/sliders in the variator BUT TO MATCH YOUR BIG BORE KIT AND PIPE THAT ALREADY GETS YOU TO REDLINE MUCH FASTER!! On a 2 stroke, the backpressure the pipe creates is what controls when the power band kicks in, say at 2000 RPM's vs. 6000RPM which is probably safe to say a stock 50cc 2 cycle's stock pipe compared to mine is, that ALONE needs carb adjusting and some air adjusting but tell ya what Skippy....I've still got the stock air box!! And it works PERFECTLY as it was tuned with it on it so there ya go, you won't get ANY MORE if you had the exact same thing I do and swapped my stock air box with your little knock off K&N type, but doesn't look to even be that good, looks foam.....K&N filters ARE NOT FOAM hahahahahahahaaha AND THOSE FOAM PIECES OF JUNK are fairly restrictive themselves honestly! I WOULD MUCH RATHER have my stock box, as I took out the "foam" filter that was in it, and left only the "normal" type of air filter, that unrestricts it pretty much ALL THE WAY!! AGAIN I HAVE NOT TURBO CHARGED OR BLOWN THIS BIG OL 73cc Z06 eater,......So THE DARN THING IS ONLY GOING TO BREATH WHAT IT CAN OR NEEDS THERE'S NO FORCING TO IT HAHAHAHAHAHA as you said it takes in air on the down stoke, well it ONLY HAS SO MUCH VOLUME HELLO....As I said you would have to REALLY force induct it to get anymore air to the motor than it is SUCKING from the stock box, I'll put a months wages on it if you want to make a little wager??? hahaha Sorry dude,......FOR REAL for I AM NOT A HATER or a troll or any of that nonsense, I was looking at videos for my SUPPA SCOOTA just ATE it's belt!! shearing quite a few tits from the belt, and it was ALL HUNG UP in the clutch assembly, therefore I have it tore down, and was thinking of swapping the normal rollers in the variator to Dr. Pulley "slider rollers" and was wondering what weight to get to maybe get more top end, I have plenty of acceleration from dead stop and no prob climbing big hills but it used to do about 60 per now it's only topping out at a little over 50.....Not a huge deal or a deal breaker, just wouldn't mind lil more top speed out of it, so was looking into the benefit if any from regular rollers to the Dr. Pulley slider type, and maybe going from 6 grams to 6.5 for maybe just a hair more high end speed. Other than that I do want one of them thar performance carbs adjustable and jetable ya know, that is really the only thing after the big bore and pipe after tuning it that I see I could benefit from spending anymore money on a 50/70cc freaking scooter!! Although......If you AINT 2 strokin' it go home and adjust your valves cause YOUR BEAT!!!!! hahaah sorry bout the short novel ahahahahaaha I had to though, you sound SO convincing although I know the difference between a drag or race car and a 50cc scooter hehehehe so yeah you SHOULDN'T HAVE SAID THAT HAHAHAHAHAHA don't matter if you've got a Keith Black 667 Blown funny car or a 50cc scooter.......hahahahahahahahaha well sorry but I beg to differ on that one!!! YOU ALL GETTIN THIS?? DON'T JACK AROUND WITH A JUNK 4 cycle China scooter when there are AWESOME 2 stroke machines out there and in this small of motor we're talking about here, my weed eater will beat your camed, valved, cute little foam tiny cone breather to death with a wet noodle hahahaahahaha GET ON UP!!! Genuine Roughouse BIG BORE SUPPA SCOOTA!!! That where it B!!!! L8r, have a good one all!! Turbo.

    I have a 2 cycle....BETTER!! AND the 70cc kit, and the prima pipe (Which for REAL NOW does the VERY most) rollers and sliders are just as important as these other things.....I still have the stock carb on my Genuine Roughouse!! It has been jetted, and some of the air restriction has been taken from the air box, but no need in the cute little blue cone....He's talking about a 4 cycle scooter tho, and yeah, I'm sure the timing change may help somewhat, but I LOVE my 2 stroke!! Had a 4 cycle nothing but valve problems and TOO MUCH work to make one have any power, my 2 cycle will BLOW ANY ANY same size 4 stroke ALL THE WAY to the bank, there's my spill on "50cc" scooters, although mine is a 73cc and the pipe on a 2 stroke is WHERE IT'S AT!! THAT is how you make the powerband come in at say 2000rpm vs. 8000!!!!! I DON'T NEED NO STINKING CARD OR SPARK CRAP!!! Although I do believe I will put a performance carb on it, one that is more tunable without a doubt!

    your theory is right, the execution is flawed IMO. you can open up air flow all you want, but the motor has a finite amount of intake it can have. Ill give ya open everything up, but most are built for how much they can take in and get rid of. when you go with bigger bore, will add torque but not speed without changing gear ratio

      Hey you got any idea what makes these scooters behave like this: No power at all until engine is at full temperature, like super hot after accelerating from traffic lights 10times after you ridden the bike for 15mins gently to warm it up first.
      It feels the most powerful right when the CVT starts to shift at 10km/h upto 30km/h, then the power drops down and it struggles to go 50km/h to gps.
      Am i having a stuck choke or too big of a jet or too little of a jet? The exhaust smells of very thick mixture when you gun it with rear wheel up. Its also smelling very rich on idle too.
      It didnt work very well with a 82main jet, changed to 88 and improved a bit but why would it like to run excessively rich?
      I've ridden an older 2004 model thats bone stock without restrictions from the factory (a patch they accidentally let through) and it goes over 60km/h EASILY, its totally different machine, but why I wonder?

    • @MiLoS-ly8te
      @MiLoS-ly8te 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Did u take of all restrictions on a bike, vario, karb piston, limited cdi? A hawe Sprint Filly it goes 63km/h stock and there is power for me and my girlfriend to run together on klimbs. First take off the restrikcions, then rejet the carb, test with varios rolers for max performance. Sry for bad eng

    • @eamh2002
      @eamh2002 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No problems, ts unrestricted but might need more jetting and different rollers :)
      Doesnt feel like the engine is making power from the crank all the time, if the engine is even semi-cold it goes only 35-40km/h but after riding around for 15-20mins it will go 50-55km/h on flat

    • @MiLoS-ly8te

      It's taken apart and checked 800km ago, valves adjusted aswell.

    I added the 4 components to my 50 cc scooter. The superflow carburetor with the big bore kit. a performance muffler was also added now i have starting issues. I have to give it more throttle every time I start it. I notice that it doesn't idle up when I first start it. I believe the chock went bad on the carburetor. Do you sell the chock for it? I also was off a little on my camshaft when I installed it about a tooth . it runs well when I can get it started. Do you think the carburetor has defected? Could someone give me some advice. someone else here said to do this...." its easier to diagnose the problem if you return first to stock parts then make it run smoothly. From there you could...." so i gather return to normal then substitue one thing at a time so you dont have 4 variables that all affect each other....i put a new air filter on a dirt bike due to the old one letting in dirt..made in china crap bike was awesome but for that stupid filter....old filter created more vacuum in the carb i gather so mixture was too lean..and the damn dust reduced the compression ratio..... so stayed hard to start but ran beautifully once warm..a sign i gather of too lean? if I am wrong would love to know so feel free to tell me

    1:50 "scooter manufacturers try to choke down these engines as much as they can to keep the speeds low" yet I have a factory model, and I can't run it like at all, without choking the air box(stock) with a piece of tape to get moderate low air flow to the engine.... hell even uncovered it choke's it's self out. so yeah.... this logic doesn't work

      Your not getting enough fuel, either jet is clogged, jet is too small, you have a intake manifold air leak or you need a smaller spring in the carb diaphragm.

    Cheapest easiest way Ive found to increase power overall without big bore kit is to change variator roller weights to 4.5 gram/ea rollers if you want good power on hills and still get your top speed. The stock ones in mine were 8.5 that is just too heavy unless you have like 150cc engine, and even too heavy for 80cc big bore kit.

    • @nicholasbowers6631
      @nicholasbowers6631 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      and also the reason they use the airbox is to drastically decrease the amount of garbage you suck through your carburetor especially if you ride dirt roads and/or get caught in rain is the reason ,they don't do it to choke down engine dude. but yes easy to get rejetted carb if you go big bore or rejet yourself if you aren't lazy there are rejetting kits out there usually about .10 jet increase is enuf for an 80cc kit.the race coil and cdi do help some but not much unless you think ignition is weak in the first place.

    • @nicholasbowers6631
      @nicholasbowers6631 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sry .10 typo. basically usually #70-75 jet will get enuf fuel to big bore.
