    My Benelli Pepe owners manual says to pull the plug with the spring and screen. No mention of a ball bearing. Tons of shop videos on the same oil change, again no mention of the BB....this is the first saying something totally different. Who does one believe now?

    question is like the others. where do i put bbs

  • @ffieditor
    @ffieditor 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    But you still have to take out the filter and clean it. I do this AFTER i have drained the oil and before I have refilled the oil. This way I can catch the ball and get the everything put back together correctly.

  • @rduwe9466
    @rduwe9466 ปีที่แล้ว

    You should check the filter for metal and debris
    So you still end up opening the under bolt

  • @richardhunn9737
    @richardhunn9737 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    And I'd suggest that you ignore the twerp and clean the wimpy filter, at the original bolt. Geez.

    That ball bearing you talking about that falls out the wrong side. Does it resemble the shape of a washer. Im trying to figure out where that came from. No balls in it though? Just an aluminum washer 🤔 PS. Mine is a Peace Sport 50 with added big boar kit to 100cc.
    PSS. Thanks for learning me that.👍👍👍👍

    Uh...could you answer the questions about the bb being replaced if it has to be? Honestly, could you answer any questions at all? You don’t seem to have done any kind of follow up to these videos. My manual says nothing about being careful about a bb but does say change the oil from the screen plug. Soooooooo....

    I have a problem with leaking oil it's not the Variator seal. But there is a hole probably about 1/4" to the right of the seal with some type of epoxy in it that is where it is leaking what should I get to seal that off from leaking. Thanks for any advice.

    • @etunimi4206
      @etunimi4206 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ryan altman You need to weld that shut if possible.
      Othervise something expensive gue that doesn't get dissolved in the oil and doesn't leak.
      Just weld it..

    how will i know if i lost that bearing?
    after changing the oil i mine it ran great for about 5 to 8 miles, then all of a sudden it started skipping and the engine felt like it dragged and pulled back like a quick strong tug once every couple seconds, lost all power and died as soon as i pulled over. it was about 10 minutes before i could start it again and drive it very slow the 1 mile or so back home, furiously trying to keep the engine from dying, then would rev up to life with the throttle for a minute or so then back to stuttering. at the end of the mile it almost felt normal again.
    quick other thing, at the same time i had taken the exhaust off and not put the metal washer in the flange when i reattached it. could that be the issue? it is also doing the clicking and tiny backfiring that causes

    • @etunimi4206
      @etunimi4206 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tigglet Your engine will die in matter of time.
      Take it to a mechanic or a friend and ask them to see if the oil system is in it's correct order.
      Check variator.
      If it's still running shitty, you need to deassemble it and see what you broke.

  • @sinisamilisavljevic8833

    I changed my oil wrong way for two years.
    My previous scooter never had that bearing,
    and it lasted 20 000 miles (motor rebuilt at 13 000).
    I don't want to make the same mistake with this one.
    My first oil change on new one I did wrong way,
    and now I don't know if I lost the bearing,
    or previous owner lost it already.
    Where can I buy it and what does it look like?
    Thanks.

  • @pagansunburn2148

    The right side of the motor under the dipstick IS actually where the manufacturer says to change the oil on my scooter. Are you saying that the manufacturer is wrong on the engines they built?

    • @jeremyvinup3868
      @jeremyvinup3868  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Here's what I'm change the oil like the manufacture says and then try it my way and you tell me which is easier. I've seen so many people have problems changing the oil like your suggesting.

    • @pagansunburn2148
      @pagansunburn2148 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It may be on most scooters that you can change it your way and I would agree that some people do not know how to change the oil. But on certain makes and different engines, the oil change is different. Maybe on the 49cc engines you focus more on your way is better but on the 150 that I have, it is best to do so under the dipstick where hte 17mm plug is located.

    hey jeremy, thanks for the tip, had the guys at the store change my oil for the first change since they offer 1 year of maintenance and repairs when you buy from them (great guys, they changed the oil correctly)
    Im a garage junkie, so i do most of the work myself, change my oil, lights, adjustments, almost everything in the comfort of my garage, but i have a question.
    After i out a 85cc BBK on my scoot, it ran great, still does.. but the kit came with a 90mm jet, which i did research that suggested that that would make the scooter run a bit rich, eat more gas, and ride a little boggy from a stop, and it does sputter a tad, which is fine... i just want it to be perfect cause im picky like that, so what km getting to is this, what main jet size do you reccomend under 90 for a 85cc, i dont want to low, for fear of running too lean and over heating. Any thoughts? thanks

      +Terrell Chrisp Sorry, I've never had any issue with my Big Bore scooters starting hard. if anything they started easier because the increased fuel mixture. Is your started weak.

    • @Waxxumus
      @Waxxumus 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Terrell Chrisp sounds like you should have upgraded your cdi and carb before going big bore. you need more gas with more room in the engine. when you rev really hard does your engine go POP POP POP after you let off the gas. It really sounds like youre running too lean. most cold engines need extra gas to start, if your cdi was not reset after putting in the big bore kit you are probably starting with the volume of gas of the smaller engine.

    • @jeremyvinup3868
      @jeremyvinup3868  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Stan Marsh I'm not sure exactly what you're saying. Most scooters have a dry clutch and do not need lubricated. Sounds like the oil you used was for an atv or something that had a clutch that needed lubrication. Your scooter clutch doesn't need oil so just running regular oil is fine.

    Hi Jeremy, I have a question. I just got my Taotao ATM50 last week and oil change time is just about here. (75 to 100 mi the seller told me) Would it be advisable to substitute 1/4 of the oil capacity with Slick 50? That would be about 6 oz. Also, I saw what you said about the oil pressure check valve ball and would it be advisable to take that out with the spring and clean it once in awhile? Thank You for the videos and looking forward to your reply.
