This is so great to spin on a budget but also to use your scraps, or even the balls of yarn you bought when you first started getting into crochet or knitting not knowing for what to use it for (which was my case, i've got so much yarn that i don't know how to use). This technique works so well! Thanks for sharing!
I found that the easiest yarn to take appart to make spinning fiber is the Lion Brand Homespun. Im allergic to wool. I can spin alpaca mixed with acrylic to give ths yarn body and strength. I buy the acrylic yarn at 2nd hand stores. Thanks for this video. Most spinners are offended by people who use acrylic. In my case i have few choises of fibers that are not that expensive. ❤❤
New sub and so happy to have this come up in my recommendations! I crochet, a lot! This is a thing I want to try. Looking forward to seeing the entire process. THANK YOU!
Thank you for your Sub. I appreciate it. I have recyled a lot of yarn scraps this way and made some really neat projects. Make sure to check out my beginning top whorl spinning video too! 😊 th-cam.com/video/m4K8J7vMfbE/w-d-xo.html
I used to customize dolls before I began spinning yarn and the thicker yarns, like the blue one here, are definitely better for getting fiber out neatly. And if you take the yarns apart so they're separate strands, you can save the thin threads in the boucle yarn without losing fiber to them
I have never tried a detangling brush. It would need to be one used for pets with metal teeth. I say go for it and try it out. You never know till ya try.
Thank you! Yes, a cat brush will work as long as it has metal teeth like the brush I used. The metal has to be exposed on the ends. I know lately they have been capping the ends to better protect pets' skin. The brushes with capped metal teeth won't work.

You're very welcome! I completely understand. Some people can't spin wool, and that is okay. You spin what makes you happy and well.
Very nice video! I've tried to try this a few days ago and the way you do it, this method seems very effective. Thanks for posting 😄
You are very welcome. 🥰
this is brilliant!! but i cant find the next video??
I haven't gotten around to making it yet. For a while, I've been dealing with some personal things and have gotten behind on tutorials.

Thank you! Great Tip!
Really interesting! I wonder if a detangling brush could work also.

Love your video!! Been looking for something to do with my scraps.❤ Would a cat brush work just as well?

Personally i hate lion brand boucle, but i love the colors. So i buy it and take it apart and spin it into something i can work with
Nothing wrong with that. I'm all about recycling.
It looks like the combed fluff would also work as polyfill in a pinch
Yes, it could be if you didn't want to spin it.
2 dog/Cat pin brushes make good small hand carders for not a lot of money.
Yes, a lot dog and cat brushes with metal pins are pretty affordable and work very well.
I want to learn!!! Thank you for the video!
You are very welcome!
Thank you!! Great video!

I wonder if these brushed out yarns might also work for felting?
If they have enough wool or are 100% wool, they sure would work for felting.
Could this work on cotton yarn, or is it only for wool ?
Usually, the cotton I have tried, the ply's just separate and never break down to a spinable "fluff." However, try it and see how it works for you.
Can I use wool noodles from rug hooking to do this?
I am not familiar with rug hooking or wool noodles that you mentioned.
Thank you😁
You're very welcome!
