Hi Christie, I have a Great Pyrenees dog that I’ve been saving the fur I brush out that is pretty. He is 11 yrs old now and I want to do something as a keepsake because I sure love my boy 😢. I have been trying to figure out how to comb and card then spin his fur for a scarf 🧣 maybe. This has been a gift to find you. Keep on crafting ❣️. Ps. I’m trying to join the FB group. Just found it also. 😊
I have seen so many spin their pets fur. It's really neat and seems to make the softest yarn. Many have told me they like to blend it with another wool because sometimes the staple length is quite short. There is another group on Facebook that is dedicated specifically to spinning pet fur. Spinning pet fur is called Chiengora. The group is called Chiengora Handspinners group. I'm not sure if they wheel and spindle spin or one or the other, but it would be worth checking out to I think. If you haven't been admitted to my Facbook group, let me know.
Awesome video. I love that you use simple items to do this, so anyone can try it too. Thank you so much!!!❤️
You're very welcome!
Wow! I have bags of small scraps! Thank you! I’m ready to start making my own yarn with my spindle.
You're welcome!

How do you add on?
Could you be more specific? Do you mean add more fiber to your spindle or getting started with your spindle or something else?
