Funny, today my scooter started to die like it was out of fuel then it would grab and take off again. I had about a 1/4 tank and put 2oz in it and ran about 2 miles then went home and let her set for about an hour then went and filled up. she didnt even hic cup over the 5mile ride i took. My dad and I buy and sell these little 49cc jobs and we swear by the stuff. we have never put it in the oil of a scooter that we were not getting ready to change the oil in. basically just put it in the dirty oil and let her run for about 15 minutes then directly change the oil. I've never noticed any benefit to putting Seafoam or Techron in the gas tank, but it does help clean the carb if you drain all the fuel out of it, then disconnect the fuel line from the tank, and use that to fill the carb full of full strength cleaner. I gave up on Chinese scooters. I've had two of them, and was unable to keep either one going. Belts were constantly breaking. The first time it happened I had no way to fix it, and had to have it hauled home on a tow truck. The GY6 engine design is good, Chinese quality is not. I now have a 2006 Vespa GT200, a 2009 Genuine Stella 2 stroke manual shift 150, and a Lance Cabo 125. Never been stranded by any of those. I would never consider anything with EFI, I want something I can work on.
I have a 5 year old fuel injected GY6 125cc. I have only owned it since August but have used fuel additives to it often since I got it. I use the most well known brand in the UK, Redex. I haven't had any issues at all. Although I have never heard of adding it to the oil. That sounds like something for a 2 stroke maybe, but I've not heard of doing that on a 4 stroke. I'd stick to just changing the oil often instead.
Thanks buddy , it's my first time using seafoam on my 150cc scooter I put 60 ml into a gallon of gas afterwards my scooter seem to be backfiring upon high acceleration maybe I have an exhaust leak I've done changed out my carburetor and checked all my hoses i believe it must be my header pipe getting ready to snap off at first i thought it was the seafoam
you gotta let it "burn" out the bad shit. run it hard while on the kickstand. normally a car has a fuel filter or oil filter which catches a good amount of that nasty shit. once you run it hard for at least 15 minutes or however long it takes to get it flowing.... change all fluids you added it too and then warm up and run kinda hard again. @@GY6-SCOOTERS

The only thing I treat mine with. Is octane booster. When I can't get high grade fuel.
I add seafoam in the gas and run the bikes low or full for a few minutes then shut off for winter about a shot glass amount in the scooters

I use an 1oz Lucas ethanol conditioner with every tank. No clogged carb issues so far
