      You cannot convert Wh to mAh without knowing the voltage.

    • @imadecoy.
      @imadecoy. 8 ปีที่แล้ว +109

      86,800mah if you're using the USB output, but mah is voltage dependent, so that number would change for the 12V or AC outputs. They probably quoted Watt hours because that works for all of the outputs and isn't voltage dependent.

      lol you could build one of these for about 100 dollars. A 50 dollar car battery... a 25 dollar power inverter for your AC outlet and 25 for wiring and 12v to USB converters. Yeah it wouldn't look as nice or be as small but I guess you could get a motorcycle battery instead of a car battery or a sealed cell battery for not much more .. maybe a total of 120 to 150 dollars .. so 500 is way too much

    In case someone is wondering, 434 Wh converted to mAh considering 5 volts for voltage of output ( which is for a normal phone ) is calculated around 86800 mAh.

    • @AwsomeVids83
      @AwsomeVids83 8 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      excuse me? there is no conversion from Wh to mAh. You obviously know nothing about electric conversions. You must have voltage and wattage to convert to amperage. Wattage is volts times amps, so if you have a 3v 2ah battery then it is also a 6Wh battery. So without knowing what voltage the battery is at you cannot calculate mAh.

    • @eastmountainfilms
      @eastmountainfilms 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      the batteries in the powerhouse are 3.7 volt 18650 batteries, at 434 watt hours. do the conversion, you get 117,297 mAh.
      434*1000/3.7 = 117297

    The powerhouse ran my WHOLE DJ SET!
    That being 2 turntables, Mixer, and speakers! total of 5 plugs running through ONE surge protector!
    Started Powerhouse at 100 percent full battery ran whole set up for 5 hours straight! battery percentage remaining was 56 PERCENT!!!
    This thing could run my whole set for probably 8 hours PLUS! if it wanted to!
    I totally RECOMMEND the ANKER POWERHOUSE!

    Can't easily convert to mAh on this device, because mAh is based on what voltage you are running at, while Wh is based on *ACTUAL* power capacity (regardless of what voltage it is being used at)... So mAh is a measure of total capacity at a given voltage (usually where the manufacturers mislabel their products, because the battery is at a nominal voltage of 3v, then being converted to 5v, so they can say a higher mAh number using the 3v rating than if they account for the boost converter or not.

    • @DiscoFang
      @DiscoFang 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So in fact it is easy to convert - so long as you specify nominal voltages. Say: 3V, 5V, 12V.
      400Wh converts @:
      3V = 133,333 = 133Ah
      3.6V = 111,111 = 111Ah
      5V = 80,000mAh = 80Ah
      12V = 33,333mAh = 33Ah
      So this device has about the equivalent capacity as the cheapest smallest car battery you can buy. And a car battery is a good comparison as it has the ability to supply decent current to an AC voltage appliance.

  • @Ndasuunye
    @Ndasuunye 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    it depends on the volts used for the device taking energy off the powerhouse. 120,000mAh only applies to a certain scenario. Here is the formula for W to mAh conversion: Q(mAh) = 1000 × E(Wh) / V(V)
    the letters are represented by what's in parenthesis.

    Watt-Hour is different for every voltage. Simply-put, to convert Watt-Hour into Amp-Hour you need to put the divide Watt-Hour with Volt (for example, if you are using 5V USB port, you are looking forward to having 86,800 mAh, if you are using 12 volt car charger, you are looking forward to having a 36,166 mAh but if you are using AC 110V port, you are looking forward to having just only 3,945 mAh) Hope this help! Uh, you got it backwards. Amp-hour is different for every voltage. Watt hour is the good one that you want to use. Amp hour is the useless one that doesn't tell you anything without voltage.

    • @ItsaJuraff
      @ItsaJuraff 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That doesn't sound right. A 15k mAh power bank will only charge an iPhone 6 7 to 8 times. That would mean that this battery could only charge a phone 17-19 times, which is significantly less than the advertised 40. I don't really know all that much about electricity, though. Does it matter that my 15k mAh power bank outputs at 2.1 amps?

    • @amk1108
      @amk1108 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh i changed my answer because i messed up the voltage in the equation: mAh = 1000 × Wh / V
      since i wrote 12v instead of 3-5v because 3-5v is the amount a phone needs to charge with
      Also yes , it does matter the amount of amps being drawn from power bank because the more amps drawn from the bank, the faster the battery drains.

    the reason it is in watt hours is because it has variable voltage output. watts is voltage*current, so with a steady stream of current, you are able to multiply it by the voltage output to find out how long each port will last at its output.

    You cannot convert Wh to mAh directly, since mAh are relative to the voltage used.
    With the formula (Wh / V) * 1000 = mAh you can calculate how much mAh you are getting out of this. For example using the 5V outlet (for a phone for example) would give you 80.000 mAh.

    > temp controlled cooling fan
    > easily removable battery pack
    > weighs 3.2KG (including solar panel)
    anker battery benefits
    > energy storage capacity (80wh more)
    > stronger enclosure (metal vs plastic)
    my battery benefits
    > cheaper ($400 vs $900)
    > better inverter (500W pure sinewave vs 120W modified sinewave)
    > higher DC power output (20A vs 10A)
    > more voltages (12V+24V+240V vs 12V+120V)
    > lighter (3.2KG vs 4KG)
    > can be stacked with other batteries to increase runtime
    > supports solar charging
    > multi charger support up to 300W (can use 2 AC adapters/solar panels at the same time)
    > active cooling (can work at full load even in hot weather)

    434 Wh = 36.166Ah (for appliances which operate at 12 V like some kind of inverter)

    What I'd like to know is the discharge rate vs capacity curve. You could find that the same battery can provide a power of 1W for 400 hours, giving 400 W*H of power, but if you draw 50watts, it's dry in 4 hours, giving half the previous capacity.

    At 5 volts, it's over 86,000 mAh. If you're not using Ohm's law then you're doing it wrong. The specification is expressed in watt-hours because of the multiple output voltages. At 120 volts a/c, the drain is 3600 mAh, that's a mini fridge running at approximately 60 watts.

    most likely 30-40 18650 cells all ran in parallel because on Amazon they have it listed as 120,000 mah and on Anker its listed for 499.99 USD. The GoalZero yeti 400 is a better deal at 376.48 USD.

    Power = Amps times voltage, so 400 watts divided by 120 Amps equals 3.33 volts, so 12 volts output at 2 amps would last about 15 hours

    You cannot convert Wh into mAh without knowing the voltage. since P(watts) = V*I. Makes sense to rate in wh rather than MAh, because Wh is a measure of actual energy, regardless of what voltage. Since there are multiple voltage outputs.
    To convert, divide by the voltage, and multiply by 1000, this converts to Ah, then *100 converts to mah.
    For example, on the 5V, assuming that the power conversion is 100% efficient (it's probably around 80-90%)
    (434/5)*1000 = 86800mAh
    on the 12v
    (434/12)*1000 = 36166mAh
    On the AC (120V RMS)
    (434/120)*1000= 3636mAh
    That's still mighty impressive, assuming they are not just over rating the cells.

    If you buy this and are thinking of flying with it confirm the rules with the airline on watt hours permitted. Most don't accept anything over 100 wh even in your carryon
