    I have the SP404A. And at first I thought the sub pad was some B.S.. Now that I been messing with it for a while I realized that the sub pad is a life saver lol. I jammed a couple of buttons and I used the sub pads when putting samples in those jammed buttons to play out without using them directly. Thanks fam

    Great video again man. You though about doing a, video on pattern sequencer. I use resample but have seen alotof people saying once you get your head round it. It's decent. Great video man

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      thanks man, yeah I want to do one on the pattern sequencer for sure. I need to play with it a bit more myself but I know how to make beats with it. I think it'll be coming in the next few videos as I've had a lot of people asking about it recently! Cheers :)

    Great channel..... I also found the sub pad useful for transitions between banks during live sets or recording sessions. I too was perplexed about its function

    For example you can use it as the end of a bar from your last beat to cut to the next one. It helps make a little switch up from the echo fade transition.....

      nice thinking! Will have to give that one a try

  • @JacobScott0000
    @JacobScott0000 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Yeah good stuff.
    So you said in a previous comment that when making a beat you'd normally export the sounds to DAW and then arrange it there.
    Would you make the beat in the SP or would you just sample individual hits? Im just thinkimg 'cause if you'd do that then there's no point in using the pad button.
    I hope that makes sense

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Jacob Scott work flow is all personal preference really man. You can make full beats on the SP using pattern seq but it would be a lot easier in a DAW. Sometimes I make the beat on the SP and play it live into a DAW, sometimes I build the whole thing in the DAW and export to the SP for the fx. Just depends how I’m feeling :)

    Dope video, if I wanted a hi hat roll could i make on in a DAW then record it into the sp?

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nick Klimson yeah man. Just export it as a wav then pick up the software on the Roland site for putting samples on your SD card (it’s free) or record it in directly then trim it manually 👍

    When I resample my drums (or any sample for that matter ) and hit a pad too quickly after hitting another pad the recording of what I'm resampling automatically stops. Will this happen even when I use the sub pad while resampling?
    Hope that question isn't too confusing lol

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      its more likely you are exceeding the polyphony of the SX - it can only resample a number of pads before it will cut off the recording. Its a limitation you have to great creative with and work around. Converting your drum samples to mono can help

    Is there a tap mode for sampling? How do you access that?

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure what you mean man? Do you mean that you can just tap and hold a button to record? The answer to that is no. you have to press record, choose a pad and then hit it again to start. You then have to press it again to stop recording
