At 57 years old I've had many bike since 16. This bike is by far the best bike I've owned, 6th gear roll that throttle on and it just go's, no need to change down..love it !!

I just picked up a 2022 here in the states. To cosign what yiy said about 6th gear. I am simply amazed that yes put the bike in 6th above 25 or 30 mph and you can literally ride ot like a automatic. AMAZING MACHINE!

@@waymongordon3940 I got the 2022 about 8 days ago and I can't keep off it and totally agree with both of you. PS how about the beautiful colour scheme, the grey and red is very cool.

I took the grill and lower stickers off of mine. Really cleans up the bike. I also have now installed the Brocks dual CT exhaust and had the ecu flashed, all I can say wow!

I have had a ZZR1400 for 3 years now and currently commute 400 miles/week. Fantastic machine, and as the man says, you never get tired of riding one, whether sedately or otherwise. Must also say it is a superb machine in poor weather (70 miles of torrential rain!!!) never missed a beat and handled fantastically. Buy one you won't regret it - but your licence might !!!

Nice video, Goblin. You are a genuine spirit. I had a Blackbird (Erion pipe, jetted, etc.), an Aprilia Mille tracker, and a BMW K1200. I sold them all after getting my 14. It has the Brock pipe and an ECM hype, and I do better track times with it than the Mille. It is superb.

The ZZ-R 1400 doesn't need to be improved to beat the new Hiyabussa , because Suzuki failed to improve on performance enough to steal the King's crown. Sure they added a heap of electronic gadgetry, increased mid range grunt and improved slightly on it's looks. However for a Euro 5 bike, fuel consumption is worse and top end performance is down on the Gen 2. They even failed in the comfort department, ruling the bike out as a long distance tourer, except for those purponents of the Iron butt challenge. A digital Speedo and rev counter would just be a blurr on the ZZ-R, and most of the modern electronics would serve only to distract. Admittedly cruise control would have been nice, but the that brings the snatchiness of a fly by wire throttle. I'm buying one of the last remaining 2020 models in the UK because it embraces that bond and ultimate respect between man and machine, without the machine taking control. The future is electric, which may appeal to some, but I'm sorry it's not for me, I could never bond with a soulless entity!!

Great points well made sir! I totally agree, nothing needs to be changed on them at all, such a shame we won't get any more made after this year. Having said that, they'll probably start increasing in value lol!

      @michaellilley6725 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@pattyjay9999 Perhaps the LCD in the centre, like the Hayabusa but I personally wouldn't like to see the anologue dials replaced, especially not with a digital Speedo or rev counter as they would just be blurred. Also, no one knows the longevity of these things, with some makes already having issues and they will be expensive to replace.

almost 2 years ago i was going to buy a new hayabusa but was shocked at how uncomfortable it was. for 31 years i had ridden suzuki. they showed me to a zx14r in the color i hate(shiny primer) but i tossed my leg over it and sadly fell in love. i wound up buying their used 2100 mile 2019 that was stretched and piped(coffmans). after 2 weeks i had them put it back to stock wheelbase and i put a better exhaust on it. i gave away the coffmans and the stretch for $300 just to get rid of them.

Excellent review a big 👍 way up. I own a 2020 ZX14r for about a year now. I’ve owned many motorcycles though out the years this motorcycle is the most amazing. It’s absolutely all I will ever want or need. Even though I have two other bikes in the carport this one is the one I ride daily. This is the one I always think about. Thanks for making this excellent video. Everything you said is absolutely true and I agree.

I love my ZX14R 2014 model. I will never sell it as it does everything that I want it to do, and more. Especially on long rides, my 14 can do it effortlessly, and still have copious amounts of power.

What a fantastic bike, I absolutely love mine(2022 model) and best I have ever owned. I love how every comment from all owners of these masterpieces are ALL in agreeance about how good they are. Ride safely my ZX14 brothers.

The gen 3 needs suspension you can adjust on the go.
If they dont make them any more at least mine will go up in value. Im 68 in Jan 2020 and do not expect to ride it past 80 y o. For that I have a 1900 Yammy or could downsize to a 1200 Speedmaster.
But I cannot bear to part with my zx. Everytime I ride it i just love how it eats up distance effortlessly and quite comfortably for a sporty bike.

I love my 16 zx14r. I am however praying to the Kawasaki gods that they make a gen3 with the TFT dash / quick shifter / cruise control and heated grips. If they do this, I honestly believe that it will become one of the greatest bikes ever built.

The ZX14R is a wonderful motorcycle and platform in general. I have a 2017 that I love. I also currently own and ride a 2018 KTM Superduke R, a 2019 Ducati Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak and a 2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4S. I truly love all 4 of these bikes, each for its own reasons.
I've put effort to get the ZX14R dialed in to my personal riding style. I've flashed the ECU and custom mapped a Woolich system with Yoshimura slip-on pipes and stock gearing. I've replaced the front brake rotors with Brembo and replaced the pads for more initial bite and feel while replacing all brake lines to steel braided lines. The front forks have been replaced with custom GP Forks. I have yet to replace the rear shock, the stock shock is not great. Not sure yet which brand... but narrowed it down to be either an Ohlins, Nitron or Wilbers. I replaced all front headlights with LED and what a game changer... also a tail tidy by Yoshimura. Have a Givi V47 hard rear top case with req'd mounting plate over the rear tail light for touring. Removed the clip on bars and installed a triple clamp and flat bar from LSL making touring that much nicer. The LSL flat bar gives it a really nice atheltic seating position, comfortable but ready... looking over the top of a Puig Double Bubble smoke screen. Shock replacement and the modding is almost done, I'm going to replace the turn signals and rear tail light lenses with light smoke. Levers, pegs and rearsets to remain stock. Keeping the stock mirrors. I use ProGrip grips and run Metzler M7RR tires... 190/55 in the back. I do not plan to ever get rid of this bike.
    Long live the 👑 ZX14R.

Had the first gen 12 years...and the second gen zx14r 3 years. In total over 100,000 kms.
They are a comfortable never breakdown.
They are way faster than a blackbird.
The motor is flexible huge torque from idle. No need to shift down.
      Massive engine beaking.
Totally stable when you open them up even on poor umeven roads.
They are one of the best bikes ever made.
The plugs are a pain to change and you need to adjust the suspension often asctyres wear.
      Marvellous machine.

I have the bike too BTW (2018 SE US-spec) but here we don't get the Akra as a dealer option so I bought one afterwards and installed. It is the only exhaust that belongs on a bike like the ZX14R...not obnoxiously loud but rather refinely so.
