- How I do it. Here's the protocol for the abdomen complete.
In the Abdomen complete we scan Liver, Gallbladder, Pancreas, Spleen, Kidneys, Common bile duct, Kidneys and Bladder. It may vary a bit from place to place but you want to include all the internal abdominal visceral organs.

I LOVE YOUR WORK ! Coming from a sonography student in clinicals this helped SO MUCH ! Thank you !
You always provide the best contents. It would be fantastic if you could make a video tutorial while you are doing the exam, in order to see the method...
Wow thanks! I'm in ultrasound school and I drive out 2.5 hours once a week to use the machine, this definitely helps putting things into perspective!
Just want to say thank you. You’ve helped me so much doing sonogram school and helped with my exit !
Good stuff dude! Definitely will subscribe. I'm an emergency physician practicing point of care ultrasound and appreciate very much your highly detailed still images and descriptions of how you perform a scan.
Thanks glad you like it!!!
I'm one of the radiologist who says " the pancreas is not visualized" xD
Very informative presentation!
Please after finishing the basic protocols, don't forget the special Pedia protocols such as hip, head, Hypertrophic pyloric stenosis and TCD for SCD patients. I will recommend your channel to our department sonographers.
Keep the good work up 👍🏻
Ha thanks for the comment Dr. 😜

Opened this for a project in school and my first thought was "the tiktok guy!! I'm saved"

I'm so guilty of the "Pancreas is not visualized" haha! Thank you for this, very easy to follow and understand. Guitars on the background looks awesome, btw.
Hi I’m new to ultrasound can you give me a tip as to get full color when scanning the IVC. I adjust my scale and color gain but somehow majority of the time can’t get full color. I’d appreciate any help. I really like your videos, they are very helpful and informative. Thank you.
Hi, Can pressing the abdominal area during an ultrasound examination without taking air (abdomen empty of air) be harmful?
Lovely
Thank. You for prestation doctor

@@SonographicTendencies thanks for your swift response 🙏
The amount of shadowing you have on some images will not fly in my Keiser program when we do lab finals
Sir your way of teaching is wonderful. kindly will you make one short vedio specifically just on Hepatic artery and veins, portal veins and CBD. Thanku.
I already did a video on cbd it’s on here
OK sir thanku
sir plz say that,,,echotexture/echogenicity of liver.
I need MSK ultrasound protocol, such as Knee, elbow ( 13 point shoulder ultrasound is already on TH-cam). Please show prob movements as well.
You said in your presentation, confluence of smv and imv but it' is confluence of splenic vein and smv?
Yes smv and splenic vein, the imv goes into the splenic vein
In LA the ecography are made by radiologist, but i like your videos are very useful so thanks for that.
Can someone explain to me why the stomach was left out? I had an abdominal ultrasound because I have stomach issues. Dr. tells me almost everything is fine. Took a closer look at the sheet with the findings and the actual stomach was not even looked at! Also, she wants to radiate me with a CT to see if I have any type of hernia, wouldn't that be visible in an ultrasound as well?
The stomach is not part of the exam, ultrasound is limited in the evaluation of the stomach and gastric mucosa, if there is concern for stomach issues you need ct, mri and or endoscopy..
@@SonographicTendencies Thank you for getting back to me. Can you tell me what organ is behind the area about 1 inch above the belly button? Because that part is raised but my Dr. seems clueless.
It could be an epigastric hernia. If it disappears on lying flat, it is a reponible hernia. Depending upon the size of the hole, the operation can differ.
@@Mr8063 thank you!
@@TheKat111 Agree with above. Could be a fat containing hernia.
I see that you've added the Bladder in your Abd Comp protocol. I understand the reasoning. But if you were to find pathology, would you just note it as incidental? And let the ordering physcian follow up with either a Pelvic Limited exam or a Renal Comp (with a urinary diagnosis/reason) to fully evaluate the pathology and in this case the bladder?
In our institution it’s just part of the exam. Anything found is usually investigated further with ultrasound or other imaging
I would only scan the bladder if I seen hydro. Then id do a post mict bladder.
I have a gallbladder stone almost 2 cm in size (from CT). On my ultrasound, the radiologist said "Gallstones are suspected without sonographic evidence of cholecystitis". Is there some reason he was unable to see it, or was he just inexperienced or incompetent?
Cholecystitis = inflammation of gallbladder. You may have a gallstone, but the gallbladder itself was not inflamed and it didn't show on the ultrasound images (and therefore the radiologist didn't see it.)
@@pitayac.8447 Ok. Thanks for the response.
Sir please reply.. What is the meaning of... Kindly R/O APD
in whole abdominal ultrasound report?
rule out acid peptic disease referring to ulcer gastritis
is it just me, or does that right kidney look like it has a mass in the lower pole?
More than 13 is splenomegaly. GB liver spleen kidney ..sagittal image wall echogenicity . Nice info
Thanks for your videos . Please explain it a bit slower and also cover transcranial vascular scan. Thanks
synyster gates guitar!!
U Need to visualize prostate uterus and ovary other pelvic structures still important part of transabdominal sonogram
To visualize prostate, uterus, and ovaries, that would be a pelvic ultrasound, not abdominal ultrasound.
subscribed
Hernial sites?
Retroperitoneum?
Can u view the stomach with this?
Ultrasound is not the preferred method to image the stomach due to air, but you can see the stomach especially if it’s distended with fluid.
Why we see all of organ inverse in ultrasound ?
of course not you see it like your sitting in front of the patient
Plz make it step by step with probe position
M Emergency medicine dr
Sem.vesicles ,Prostate in male and uterus an₹ ovaries imaging not projected here.
In America these are separate orders
that's the best cbd image you can get, a teeny, tiny piece? you cant even see it! enlarge the image!
Ok 👍
Me - sees a bunch of black and white squiggles
Him - “oh yeah here’s part of the aorta”

Hello, my name is Osama Ayoub. I had many examinations and passed 9 doctors to diagnose my condition. Only one doctor was known. I was diagnosed with mesenteric syndrome, and I underwent an operation. A month after the operation, my condition worsened until I vomited food and could not bear the pain. Doctors hurt me a lot, and I no longer have hope. Help me. I want a decent life to live.
I am so sorry about your health condition. Have you had a cat scan of the abdomen and pelvis?
@@pitayac.8447 Yes, I underwent pelvic and abdominal examinations, SMAS was diagnosed, and an operation was performed, but I did not recover. The symptoms increased

He went too fast for me.
You can change the speed of the video. I speak fast so the videos aren’t 20-30 minutes long which people may not want to sit through
Poor technique,,,,shows probe position
I'm a student and the pancreas is my absolute favorite to scan 🤍
