Ryan, I have watched several of your videos and I want to say thank you so much for your post! You are truly a outstanding individual taking the time to share your knowledge and life!
I have a 2016 Kw t680 and it is having some of the same symptoms you outlined in this video. Can you please tell us if the customers complaint was fixed. Great information as always. Outstanding work!!
Ryan I wish you were closer to me you would be my all time mechanic. I’m probably going to have you do my cleaning for one box in future. What really suck is you can go to these dealers that should know there stuff and they don’t
Hello Ryan, thank you for trying to help us out here in TH-cam land. Can you try and put any special tool numbers in when you use those special tools. Thank you brian
Awesome to see a video where the presenter doesn't make baseless claims and bash the engine design without knowing things. I wish I knew what was wrong with it... I know the cam sensor and crank sensor alignment is continuously monitored in the ECM. I believe it will throw a code once it's slipped enough. The cam gear tends to slip very slowly over a long period of time, with the slippage rate slowing down over time.
I am currently dealing with this problem. It is fuel starvation/dirty fuel problem. The noise comes from the high pressure fuel pump being overworked. When i get the truck primed correctly it runs nice and quiet. When it starts sucking junk from the tanks or starves for fuel it starts to make noise and run kinda rough. It will also dry out the Davco filter empty out of fuel. Found a lot of water in my tanks. The truck will keep going, it will not shut off but has lower power. Also noticed my tanks not equalizing fuel correctly.
I have 2020 Volvo Vnl860 with 200k miles. Bought brand new. Started having vibration and spent lots of money trying to sort this issue. Spent thousands on diagnostic shops and found 0 issues until I replaced my reefer trailer axles bushings and also had to do fifth wheel top plate bushing cuz they were shot. And that fixed my issue. I didn’t believe that trailer had anything to do with what I thought was “driveline vibration”. But trailer’s worn bushing and alignment was the culprit
Customer left this morning, he said both idle and driving vibration has improved, and the truck got more power. However, I don't think it is fully fixed.
Hey Ryan I’m a owner op with a 2018 freightliner coronado with a DD15 Detroit my secondary air pressure keeps dropping just to 100 psi every 3 to 5 min and builds back up, its doing it way to frequent just curious on what u might think it will be, thanks!!!
It’s a freight shaker, they are know to have air leaks. Best to get a spray bottle with dawn soap and water , air up system and spray all your hoses and connectors , front to back including your air bags. Where’s there’s bubbles there’s a leak.
Customer left this morning, he said both idle and driving vibration has improved, and the truck got more power. However, I don't think it is fully fixed.
Also if the fuel pump was replaced or re-sealed the fuel pump could be causing it. That gear is timed an will cause vibration if not installed properly.
Ryan, 2019 Kenworth t680 with the Cummins isx15. When I cold start there has been a loss of Air so the compressor starts running, then when the compressor shuts off there's kind of a vibration in the motor and I am losing air to the point where the compressor comes back on then it kind of smoothes out. Then the compressor kicks back off and asserts the leak down air again with the vibration and returns through the same cycle again the compressor comes back on it smoothes out and compressor kicks back off and goes back into a vibration and starts to lose what do you think it is do you think it's the compressor Kenworth just did the front of the motor all the gaskets they said it was leaking there I thought it was a high pressure fuel pump leak they fix that before and it's is leaking oil like almost out of every orifice now do you think the compressor took on engine oil and ruin my compressor I know it's hard to say with all this man but what do you think's going on . Also the whole compressor coming on and leaking down cycling through about several times happens periodically throughout the day it's kind of an intermittent problem
Good morning Ryan what state do you living in to and I am asking you this because I really appreciate the way you do stuff and I would really like for you to do some work for me in the future?
vibration mmmmmmm ?? bent flywheel??? trany, issue?? I really want to know what it is please tell us was listening, for about 3min and came up with my guess I am sure I am wrong BUT please tell us, as I watched the rest of the video I am sure I am wrong but that was my best guess and I will stand on it GREAT SHOW really in-depth stuff Loved it also there was no mumbling or did you get a new mic? you really spoke up it was powerful you explain things very well hows the new place commin along? good to see you again hope you are all doing well. Ryan RESPECT my man. you really know you sh-t. Wow.
Thank you David. Customer said the vibration in idle and driving both improvement, especially he got more power while driving. However, I don't think it fully fixed the vibration issue. You could be right about flywheel and transmission. But normally during the troubleshootting, we want to look at the things most likely could be the issue and the cheap to fix solution before we look at more expensive parts like the transmission.
Maybe watch this video to get a good idea of you haven’t watched What to look for when buying your first semi truck th-cam.com/video/C6egmr6dYQI/w-d-xo.html
We has a troubleshooting on Cummins Engine won't start we changed battery 24 volt check fuel valve same trouble in customer option I saw Vibration switch option: Derate not same to other engine options is only Warning need help Sir
Hey Ryan real quick question have you ever encountered a harmonic balancer causing an engine knocking noise...... I have an ISX 870 the truck drove fine for about 300 miles I turned the truck off got unloaded started the truck fine pulled out of the shipper's yard and got up to speed well during that first pull I started hearing a knocking sound at 1,300 RPM..... And a wobble or vibration.... Well I've been basically keeping the truck around 55 miles an hour and the RPMs low to prevent knocking I've got no smoking exhaust and it doesn't sound like a misfire I've had the valve cover off three times now I've checked the engine brakes to see if maybe the springs were bad I can't move the engine brakes while the truck is running at all. I checked all the valve adjustments nothing seems loose it's kind of driving me crazy cuz I don't know if this engine is blowing up which I would imagine I would see tons of metal flakes on top of the head and on the dipstick..... And while the truck is idling it sounds completely normal and fine up until like I said 13 or 1400 RPM.... Also this truck gets regular oil changes at 25,000 mi intervals with Blackstone oil testing and everything has come back fine since I've owned the truck.
No such thing as a 2015 X15. They started installing the X15 in 2018. There is a lot of difference than the isx the x15 has done away with all the worthless sensor problems. People change the sensors and don't correct the problems that sensor is telling you have a problems Not the sensor is bad.

Will you up date us if the vibration issue was resolved ?? I’m curious and found that information extremely helpful thank you …
Absolutely! Customer just drove the truck off our shop this morning, we are waiting for his feedback. Will update you once I hear back.

He has great how to videos
Thank you. Love to hear that!
Excellent videos ! Keep up the good work! Also I was hoping to see you at MATS this year!
Thank you! Sorry I didn't get a chance to go this year. My shop was full that week.

What?!!!!! Did the vibration issue get resolved 😮
I have an 2015 international X 15 eng Whalom park the rpm keep rising over 10 to 12 while I drive it goes down. What do you think is the reason
Hello i know it’s old video but did you fix the problem?
I am currently dealing with this problem. It is fuel starvation/dirty fuel problem. The noise comes from the high pressure fuel pump being overworked. this guy has no business in a shop. he should be in collage teaching a class. he would make a awsome teacher.
I agree
I once had an annoying vibration, it ended up being the clutch. Once I replaced my clutch the vibration went away
Thank you for sharing!
I'm getting clacking slapping noise when climbing a hill from the motor you know what that is about
Ryan do you work on Mack trucks?
I wanted to ask if the transmission can vibrate on the X15?
Is there a similar silicone-filled balancer-wheel on a Volvo D13 engine? My D13 is vibrating when idling and when driving.
Did it fix the issue?
Customer left this morning, he said both idle and driving vibration has improved, and the truck got more power. However, I don't think it is fully fixed.
@@truckingandfixing it’s interesting for sure. At 600 rpm my x15 vibrates quite a bit, but at high idle it’s smooth as can be.

1999 is the year the eld comes to the market. I don't think it has anything to do with serial number.
Fuel pump timing or motor mount?
Thanks, checked both, they are good!
ISX air compressor are timed .
Please let us know if the issues were resolved.
Customer left this morning, he said both idle and driving vibration has improved, and the truck got more power. However, I don't think it is fully fixed.
Hello Ryan can you also run overhead tuneup on N14?
Yes, I can, pretty easy to do!
Do you familiar with Volvo D13?
Also if the fuel pump was replaced or re-sealed the fuel pump could be causing it. That gear is timed an will cause vibration if not installed properly.

These que happen to an Detroit series 600 ?
Is a Detroit dd15 better than Cummins
Well did it fix the problem or not?
Are you going to ticktock me Wednesday? lolll
😅
I have 386 peterbilt which cummins 450 hp. Engine running good but when I put off make alot vibration , why ?

I used to feel a vibration in my old 92 Pete with a Cat. I replaced the back motor mounts and smoothed out
I had the same problem with vibration I was the transmission clutch
Thanks for sharing!
So did it solve the vibration problems.
Not completely, customer said good improvement compare to before, especially more power while driving.

What causes my Cummins ISX engine to stay high idle
I don't know what is harder to chase down issues on, a diesel motor or my Harley!🤣🤣
We has a troubleshooting on Cummins Engine won't start we changed battery 24 volt check fuel valve same trouble in customer option I saw Vibration switch option: Derate not same to other engine options is only Warning need help Sir
Crankshaft dampener has liquid in it that actually dries and hardens causing vibration
always check your transmission first it could definitely have loose nuts and bolts
Do you have a shop
If so what's the address
