I think it's because the majority of people they think that they can change the oil every 70,000 miles. I changed the oil every 10 thousand miles, and my 2013 cummins has 1 million 37 thousand miles still with no issues
We have 45 2018 to 2024 and they all have x15 are trucks are x15 I’ve maintained them all their lives with 25k mile oil changes and we air getting same issues around 800k to 1mil along with regular other part replacements
Cummins is junk plain and simple. A motor that regularly throws a rod is not a good engine. I got rid of mine. Should have done it earlier but I'm so glad it's gone
2016 Freightliner Cummins ISX have had 0 issues. I change me oil every 3 months and add a gallon of Lucas. Change my crankshaft filter 2 times a year. My shit runs like a new Cadillac.

Yup i remember i used too call ask saying hey i think this truck needs an oil chnge. The maintenance manager would tell me just add oil don’t change it.😂
We have a truck with the same motor but it’s never the crank. Keeps dropping liners and blowing head gaskets. It’s had 3 different motors and they’ve all done the same thing

When a system uses reference voltage, any resistance in the electrical "highway" will cause a value drop to the ECM or the modules. That is the language that both ECM and Modules need to see that the system is within its parameters. Always carry a can of Contact Cleaner with no residue. it might surprise you.
Cummins engine is the best. I got Cummins isx engine and it has 1 million on it, nothing engine problems until now. Because I do maintenance on time. If u don’t do maintenance on time, u will have engine failure.
i driving a 2020 cummins and the pressure is always 37psi. Super low. isx= crankshaft dd15= oil suction D13= inyector cups Mx13= ??? what about mx13? the best for me is the Volvo

Don't use lucus. It dilutes the oil add pack and thickens oil !

I work for a mega carrier and 23 x15 579 they run the oil change intervals to 70,000. Sell the truck @ 300 to 350k .
