Hi. Just a quick note of thanks for this video. I took some Of your ideas and put a roof on our pergola making it a small pavilion now. Your ideas on the spine and the inner board’s that the spine lays on was invaluable. Thanks so much. I really appreciate you.
This building covers a 10 foot by 15 foot paver patio so the posts are outside that area. The front is the 10 foot side. I added a middle post on the 15 foot side because I felt the span would be too long. I based a lot of the wood choices on how it would look finished and the overall scale. I spent a lot of time on Pinterest looking for ideas.
Yes I watched your videos thank you , it shows you notching the 2x8 doesn't show how you fastened them , looks like just screws toe screwed in , I was curious if you used brackets , thank you .
Did you use 2×8 for everything up top? I was thinking of using 2×6. My DYI pavilion is going to be 14×14, just nervous about project because want to make sure all 4 post are squared properly secured which hold everything in place is safe ans secured.
The paver pad below is 10' x 15' so the frame is slightly wider than that. I doubled up the middle to make it symmetric and to provide some more support for the length of the ridge. I did it on the ends to make the beams look more massive like the upright posts.
They are just screwed with long screws. I may make some y shaped brackets out of steel and paint them black and install on the front and back to add some detail.

How tall are the ridge beams ? Like what’s the measurements
I’m thinking to build one 16x12. 16’ would be the front. What material would you suggest for rim on the front ?

The posts are 6 x 6.
How did you attach the supports for your ridge beam ??
I am pretty sure I just used construction screws. There is a playlist for this project on my channel.

What pitch roof was built on this?
I am pretty sure it was 4/12.
How tall are the ridge beams ?
The ridge beam is 10' 8" to the top of the beam from the floor.
How much did this cost to build yourself?

The rafters are 2 x 6.
@@bryansprojects3570 thanks, materials are so expensive this time around. Might have to hold off until next year.
Thank you for sharing this.:-)
Great video! How long and wide was this frame? Is that why you doubled up for the rafters?

Would survive a tornado!
Good job; #$$!??
I built this before lumber prices got crazy, back then I probably had about $1500 in it.
