My son literally did this during a practice some time back. He’s a 400 runner so missed the remainder of indoor. He gets to compete next week for outdoor😊. I just shared your video to him. Ty for for being detailed and transparent. Best of luck to you for outdoor season.
thanks for the video king
thank you erin, i just strained mine 🙏🏽
It's them damn shorts
Thank you , blessed up fr
Yo, I got districts next Wednesday and I started a strength exercise for my injured hammy and I was able to perform at the same intensity as my non-injured hamstring. Your story also helps me through the process, it can be tough and I know you’re not rolled
Thanks man popped my hammy in like early February running at states and I restrained it like 2 times trying to get back on the track. I wish I saw this earlier but imma try this out
How’s it now
Could you make a video on the drive phase and/or holding top end speed?
I also had a grade 2 way back from october and ive kept reinjuring it over the past couple months like my 100 time usually low 11’s but this weekend i ran a 12.6 cuz my hammy gave out😭
Lil audio glitch

And things of that nature
Idk if you already stated it but did you run at all during that recovery week or strictly just strengthen?
Hey man, apriciate the video. Can i ask you how can i recognize hamstring tear and how to prevent it?
What type of preventative stuff do u do now
Erin how often do you do these exercises?
Yh ive been STRUGGLIN with the hamstring like ive been struggling for a year. Think i went back to sprinting and jumping too early then i messed it up again. U showed the week 1 workouts, how did u progress from them
I strained mine over striding but my hamstring is so strong that I can’t still lift and all but can’t run
Yo Erin I'm a young sprinter and I currently am out for the season due to tearing my hamstring(left) 7 times in 1 month (December) I just missed nationals could U please help me out on how to recover faster
Do you have any recovery tips for a strained/pulled lower back?
take time off, use heat, and i would work on doing back extensions a month later when your feeling 100%. dont do them when your even at 95%.
100m race plan? If you don’t mind droppin it
Can you do these workouts to strengthen your hamstrings if they're pefectly fine?
Yes that's a great idea
Going to belhaven invite Saturday. Hopefully my rolled ahh don’t pull my hammy
so you only stayed doing that recovery workout cuz it says week1 and what if you don’t got a stationary bike?
I pulled mines a month ago n I can go like 70-80 % but I still feel it when i go higher and I have a knot in it but I’ve been doin hamstring strengthening exercises I have my first meet in two weeks what should I do?
jus gor that same injury doing about the same thing
Did you feel your hamstring at all running the outdoor 100? Like pain or tightness?
No
Did you get massages to loosen your hammy and lower body up during recovery?
Yes
i heard a pop in my hamstring yesterday but idk if i tore it tho. today i feel a lil bit of pain but imma see
It’s most likely strained. Same thing happened to me, Doctor said it’s a strain. If your feeling pain when activating your hamstring or like you mobility isn’t all the way there, but you can still pretty much walk with a little discomfort then yeah there’s a high chance that it’s strained. Usually they last between 2-3 weeks to heal. But everyone’s different and depends on how bad the strain is. Hope I could help
@antoniocarrola2541 a strain is micro tears
How many days after you started lifting. did you start running again??
10 days
Missing all of my outdoor meets cuz of this hammy 😭😭
same
When you do a really bad hamstring tear you'll see blood pool around the back of your knee and even the upper part of your calf. Did you see any of that?
I didn't
2 weeks ago I felt something at my hamstring during 100s, and my orthopedist told me to rest 2 weeks, should I start the volume or do short sprints but not at 100%?
Start with accelerations. 10m , 15m, 20m and gradually increase distance. Never start with volume
@@TheErinBrownTVYeah but first meet is in 2 months
@@chiviraul10I'm at your position right now. I hurt my hamstring (grade one) 9 days ago, I took 3 days off cuz I couldn't even walk, now I'm able to run at 90% speed of my PR without feeling my hamstring. I'm not pushing cuz I want it to heal and condition fully. I have my first meet in 49 days. Take your time with your progress, it takes your body only a week or two to get back to running the same time as you did before the injury. Don't risk another week or two by rushing too early.
Do shorter accels over longer distances coming back from hammy?
Short
Block starts
And did you ice a lot?
No ice
@@TheErinBrownTVwhat about heat?
About 2 weeks ago I hurt my outside hamstring when I was sprinting cuz my hs coach didn’t let us warmup, I tried isometrics and it helped a lot so I started slowly sprinting again last week so yesterday I sprinted again and I started feeling the same pain a little bit again, it’s like my outer hamstring tendon and it goes up my hamstring, is there a way can I rebuild the tendon so that I can sprint again?
Follow the workout at 5:03 in the video
@@TheErinBrownTValrighty thanks man! Is there anything I can add on or is that pretty much all?
@@Hogrider.37That’s it then just slowly add the weight until you at where your supposed to be at
@@JthtbhsDbdsbdv-hd9dybet bro thank you 👌🏼
