This is awesome! For me I bought my first REAL camera in 2022 after many years of borrowing other people's cameras and previously using a Sony point and shoot cybershot (i had a 2MP one and a 7MP one). I wanted something that could do good photography and great video with amazing auto focus (more important for video stuff for me when I stream), be full frame (the APS sensor in the Canon i was borrowing just really didn't fit my needs in my space, full frame has made my life so much easier and I can't go back), and have a flip screen. I got the Sony A7IV in the end. If I was doing stuff today I may have bought something a bit less high end to save money and invested some of that money into another lens. Maybe an A7C or A7Cii. I originally wanted an A7siii, but the difference in features and price made the A7IV more attractive to me.
I see I'm not a complete weirdo. My first "camera" would've been a hand-me-down Sony Hi8 (analog) Handicam from my dad, paired with a PCI video capture card back in about '96-'97. I was even taking "photos" (multi-pass frame grabs) with it until I got my first digital camera a year or so later.
It would be interesting to ask what sort of footage they shot with those cameras - the requirements for vlogging from home are going to be different to a gaming channel or a travel channel and might affect the choices! My first camera for away-from-desk stuff as a cheap Go-Pro knockoff, but if I was at my desk for streaming, I use a webcam. Since then, I've started using my phone for woodworking videos, but might use my DSLR or Insta360 on holiday. I use a pair of DSLRs for filming shows as well because I want a decent lens to get closeups of the stage. Lots of different tools for different tasks. I would like a recommendation for a reasonably cheap camera that can record 4k video with a 50-75mm equivalent zoom, although I suspect I might be looking for a unicorn!
Oooooh. The Ace hasn't officially launched yet. I was googling trying to find more info (at the time of this comment the link didn't work.) but now I see that it drops at 9AM PDT (12PM EDT)
My first camera was a Canon Rebel T3. When I upgraded to a 5D (aka sister gave me her camera) I found the massive benefits of full frame. When I got an R6...well that was night and day.
my first dslr was the Nikon d3100 I love how it had an option to make it less loud like the shutter the thing I didn't like about it was the display it was so hard to see the screen
D3100 represent! I loved how back then vintage lenses were absurdly cheap (not with the nostalgia premium they have now) and since Nikon always used the F mount I could just use them no problem.
@@noticiasinmundicias agree thats what i alos missed about I could have put an vintage f mount lens on and it still works even it worked on vintage Nikon/Nikkor lenses without needing an adapter now a days you need an adapter for almost any other camera if you want to put lenses with a different mount even if its the same brand as your camera
@@DROSE2998 Yeah, I have an original Nikon F (as in the first one) and it fits all of my full frame Nikon glass. Obviously no auto features, but it's not like I take it to paying jobs. I mean I don't even have paying jobs.

This is such a cool video idea! ❤Good question about the dedicated camera 📷 great interviews!

JVC Everio. A far cry from the FX3 I currently use most of the time.

My first was a Sanyo VPC-z380. I got it brand new in 1999. It came with a 4gb smart media card and connected to the computer via serial port 😂
Sony NEX 3 - although i upgraded to the NEX 6 just this year
Asking next creators about their first "dedicated" camera, to avoid possible shocking revelations ☠️🤣🤣
