The Sims is a way to escape. I can pretty much be anything I want - a doctor, a writer (MY DREAM), have a nice house, etc. I've found my one artistic creativity with building. And The Sims community, oh my goodness... When I started being more active, I didn't realize just how amazing all of you guys are. I wished I would have been introduced to this wonderful franchise earlier, but I couldn't be any more happy to be surrounded with SUCH a great game, great community, and watch AMAZING content creators! ❤️❤️

I was such a little baby when the sims came out. I was 9 years old. I don't know what I would've done without the sims too. I was so into barbies, & when the sims came out, I was able to transition over to "virtual barbies" in a lot of ways. I never grew out of it either. I'm 27 now y'all, & I'm still playing the game every single day. I'm emotional, guys. Happy 19th anniversary to all of us. xoxoxo
The thing about Sims is that i always go back. I played this game since i was 6... and im almost 16. This game got me through thick and thin. I never got to express my creativity in a way i can in Sims. Im even studying technology and programming because of my love towards Sims! I love this game so much and im so grateful that im a part of this amazing community!!
Your lucky that you were able to get it when you were six...my mom was a single mom and couldn’t afford it so I couldn’t play till 2 years ago
I think my favourite part of the Sims is how dedicated the community is. People take time out of there lives to make content for people to play. Most of these people aren't even getting paid (don’t use adfly). Also the biggest fight you can get into with a sims player is when you find out they use alpha. But you get over it quickly because... sims.

the sims got me through middle school and i love it so much
I grew up with the sims 3 and when I was 1-8 I didn’t know about the sims 1 or 2 and I really am hopeful for the sims 4 to get better because I feel like they will have lots of new cool stuff because they now have all the important stuff such as seasons and parenthood so now they can add more fun packs like, possibly mermaids and a beach world or more counters and furniture for different packs and more worlds such as Japan, Africa, South America, France, Egypt, or even an ice world

Fully agree that the community is awesome! Even the people that "fight" about playing with or without mods are really nice to each other, I think since the game is all about doing your own thing and having fun with it, it helps people see that in others and accept it. I'm a VERY new player and addition to the community and I'm loving it so far.
I’ve been playing Sims 4 for about two years and I’m currently twelve years old, turning thirteen this year. I got the game when I was eleven and it was the greatest thing because I was dealing with some of the worst bullying of my life and I’ve been bullied almost my whole life. The Sims has helped me tremendously in keeping me from making any stupid decisions towards the bullies.

The Sims came out when I was three, I don't remember how old I was exactly when I started "playing" but I used to sit in the basement around my parent's super old school desktop and basically boss my siblings around on how to play the way I wanted it. It was amazing to me that my brother found a custom bedroom, the start of my custom content addiction. I remember the feeling of the first time I got to play Sims solo, it was so awesome and I'm still addicted to it after at least 14 years, happy 19th Anniversary Sims, thanks for getting me through 8 major surgeries in 10 years and being a comfort to me and for giving me my dream life through years of bullying (it may or may not have involved drowning/burning some of the bullies on especially hard days)

I started playing the sims when I was twelve two, I love that game so much!
The sims is also cool because you can play it in such a different way than others. Like, you can literally become a plant sim, or become a rich business person, or a kleptomaniac astronaut, etc. Games like Mario kart are super fun, but it’s the same thing over and over.

I've been playing since TS1, but in TS3 I was old enough to really go hard in the forums and I would constantly have kind people gift me things from my wishlist and I even had a guru gift me from my wishlist with a nice message relevant to the thread I was in. A truly wholesome and pure community.
I discovered the sims because of my aunt when I was nine. I played the sims two, three and four and it is honestly such an amazing game. I love it so much

This is my fav video you've ever done because I can relate to what you've said so much, especially about the community and the representation in the game (which yes, still needs more work, but is impressive). I found the sims in 2013 while scrolling on TH-cam (7 year old me) and I’ve loved it ever since. I started seeing ads for the sims 4 and got it the week it got out. I have almost every pack for it (sorry for maybe bragging). I play it and watch Kayla’s streams everyday after school and no one and I mean *no one* knows about it in my school which is sad. Anyways, I’ve grown up (still am) watching soooo much sims you tubers and playing the sims and it has been amazing! I wanna (maybe) become a TH-camr (for the sims dUh) or work for ea in the sims department. Anyways, I love the sims and everyone in the community.

I can't believe it's been 19 years. I've been playing since Sims 1 base game, I didn't get it on the release date think it was a month or so after but wow 19 years.
The best part of the sims is that you can do almost anything. You can create a family, get things you dont have in real life. Have things you cant have in real life, and achieve your wildest dreams. Like going to space! Oh yeah yeah

I was 6 when sims first came out and I used to sit and watch my sister play it until I was able to play it myself. When I think of my childhood it was just... Sims. I was extremely shy and an introvert and spend many hours just playing sims. I’ve never gone more than 6 months without playing. Even now that I am 25 and have two kids. I play every night now because I created a TH-cam channel and need to create content but I love it.

The Sims is a great way to express creativity, and is a great escape from crappy parts of real life. I have written so many stories based on characters I have created in the Sims, and they are my favorite stories thus far!
why did this make me so happy. I just got dumped and im feeling very worthless and sad and all around icky, but this made me feel better. you made me realize that i have a support system all around me and that it gets better and I'll be okay. you didnt even mention that it gets better, but somehow this helped me. I started playing The Sims 2 in 2002 when I was 7 yrs old, loved the game soo much and at the time my 16 years old babysitter had almost every pack (which I was able to download on m pc) and also had The Sims 1 and gave them to me. Then The Sims 3 came out and now The Sims 4. I will always play the Sims, it is my favorite game and to this day I'm 23 and I play almost every day after work XD

My biggest memory of the sims when I was younger was spending over 500 on the free mobile app “by accident”
Wow, I remember buying The Sims back in 2000, but not really understanding it too much and getting frustrated with Bob and Betty Newbie. Then I discovered I could build my own houses, and a whole new world (no pun) opened up to me. Cut to The Sims 2, and I discovered custom content. To this day, I have a couple of data cds with all of my old Sims 2 CC and saves on them. One day, I will go back to that game and continue my legacy. I didn't really play much of Sims 3, because it was a beast and my computer was growing old and tired, but what I did play, I liked...sort of. It had its good and bad points. Now, Sims 4...I think it still has a lot of room for growth and while it was a bit rocky to start (no pools? no toddlers?), the team has consistently listened to the players and have tried (within their reach and feasibility) to give us what we desire. With this iteration of the game, I think some things will probably just be impossible because of the game engine, but I really do enjoy what we currently have. I am actually in no rush for Sims 5, because I want to see Sims 4 reach its full potential.

Idk why but every time I get a new expansion pack, I’ll download it and then will go on a like 3 month hiatus until I play again and then I’ll be like “oh yeah I spent $40 on this pack” and it’s like a present to me from me

I could've cried when my very, veeery bad pc actually ran the sims 4.
I remember it being out for more then 2 years, maybe even 3.. and It was on sale for 20 bucks so I said: Okay, you love this game without having EVER played it yourself, you might not be able to even run it, but you gotta get it and try it out.
So I did
and I was so scared the first time it started, but it worked! I had to put the settings down and I always put them up a little higher to see where I can push my limit and It works.

My brother on the other hand was annoyed, bc he said it wouldn't work and he kept on shitting on me for wasting money on something I wouldn't be able to use and he was proven wrong.
(He is still bitter about it and it has been YEARS)
As I was also born in August of 1999, on the 20th, the fact that I am older than sims is a slightly daunting idea considering how much time I've spent on it.
All my friends make fun of me because I play The Sims so I’ve started using the excuse “I haven’t played THAT game in a year” and when I said that today I felt very guilty because of what day it is lmao
I recently got my best friend to get the game. Now we play for hours on end together while talking on FaceTime. We talk about how amazing the game is. I’ve mentioned many of the points you’ve made in this video. The game is so customizable, and if I didn’t find this game a few years ago I would be pretty bored with my life. The Sims is one of my all time favorite games and I hope it continues on for many more years. I relate to almost everything you’ve said in this video. It’s so amazing he has you can live the life you wish you had in the game. If I want to be a doctor, or an actress, or a tech guru. There are SO many different options and I LOVE that you can create fantasies you wish you lived in.
I love the sims because it allows me to practice how I can lock families in my basement and dispose of their bodies :D and the pets are adorable

I am a wee 11 months younger than Sims 1. It was an absolutely massive portion of my childhood.
I remember playing The Sims since I was about 6-7, that was a Little over a Decade Ago. I think the First Sims Game I played was The Sims on The Nintendo GameCube.
