I didn't know the Koreans can sing and dance so well. I'm impressed too, I started listening since January. Mostly Jong-Hyun voice its incredible in all the songs. It's a pity I found out too late about Jong Hyun. Did you listen End of Days. My mom that's a lover of Asian music introduce me to Taemin, Minho, Onew, Key, Jong-Hyun, And other Korean music artist. but Jung-Hyun's song end of day makes us cry a lot, cause his depression. Cause i know what depression is, it's sad you had everything, and talent and you were unhappy nobody knows your pain, but we will miss him always. @@GOTGames

Shinee debuted in 2008 as 5 member group, actually they are promoting as a 4 member because one of them Jonghyun (the one that impressed you the most) passed away in 2017. When they debuted they were really young the youngest was 14 years old and the oldest 19 so nowadays even if they have 15 years of experience they are the same age as idols of 3rd or 4th generation.
Theiy debuted with the song Replay, they can sing different style of music from RnB to dubstep to more 80s etc. Hope you can react to more of Shinee you will not find same songs with them because they are known to be very experimental

Welcome to the trendsetters that are Shinee! This song for instance is the reason why dance practices became so popular, they also broke new ground with the retro style and house sound in ”View” and Taemin was the first member of all the SM groups to become a solo artist!
And yes they’re a group with so many sounds! Like house for ”View”, ”Married to the Music” is a fun halloween song, and in ”Atlantis” they’re underwater princes. For their AMAZING harmonies there’s the live showcase of ”Marry Me” from their 2021 comeback.
If you don’t mind ”just” listening to a b-side, I can’t recommend ”Orgel” enough. It’s so unique, I swear you won’t have heard a song like it before.
And that’s basically how I’d describe Shinee: unique.
Shinee is one of the greatest Kpop groups of all time and are known as the Princes of Kpop. They actually set the standard for what is expected of a top tier Kpop group. They are just about universally respected and admired and many of the currently popular artists have covered their songs. You may know Shinee's Taemin who is a very popular solo artist and is widely regarded as the best dancer in Kpop. If you don't you really need to check him out. Taemin is also in SuperM which is SM Entertainment's super group made up of idols from other major SM acts including Shinee, EXO and NCT.
I discover K-pop with SHINee accidentally when I was 18! A guy did an English cover of one of their earliest songs “love like Oxygen” and I was blown away! Then I found “Wonder girls” with “nobody” and “Girl’s generation” or “SNSD”, which a lot of people consider K-pop royalty hahahaha

same! i got to know Shinee accidently when i was 18 in high school. one of my friends was obsessed with this song when it first came out and told me to check it out on youtube. i was blown away by their talent and their fashion. now it's been over 10 years that i'm in the kpop fandom. i love new groups but my favorite kpop music is still the one from the Golden Era of Kpop (2008-2013).
"Where the hell did that voice come from?" You probably have heard by now, Jonghyun is no longer with us and his vocals are sorely missed. I love all the members, but still have a difficult time watching their videos since his passing. His voice stood out so perfectly in the group who's vocal melodies were perfection. The group's song for Jonghyun is a tear jerker, but my favorite group song is 'Evil' live: th-cam.com/video/a4X5WRFfUao/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=StanleyHsu and my favorite by Jonghyun was 'Y Si Fuera Ella(Hyeya)' live. Also, one member, Onew, does an amazing Opera live, 'Nessun Dorma' I don't think that most people who are new to Kpop or Kdramas realize that Korea has one of the most, if not the most highest rate of suicide in the world.,..a VERY difficult culture to live in. I was heartbroken when I heard the news about Jonghyun. I think life in Korea can be very isolating and it must be doubly so for kpop artists.

Lucifer is a fun song, but it’s a bit dated. You need to check out their newer songs, like “Don’t Call Me” or “Atlantis”. And for more of the Jonghyun era of SHINee, the live versions of “Stranger” and “Spoiler”. Jonghyun is still considered one of the all-time best vocalists in kpop. And he was the first kpop idol to be allowed to compose and write songs for his group and himself (and even for other artists, like EXO and IU). His solo stuff is so beautiful, completely different from anything else is kpop. Ballads like “End of a day”, “Diphylleia Grayi” and “Elevator” will break your heart. His songwriting talent was huge.
And it’s definitely time to check out the amazing Taemin, meaning his solo stuff. He is a legend. Personally I wouldn’t even be into kpop if it wasn’t for him.
Key released a real banger last year, it’s called “Bad Love”. You’ll love it. And Onew, their beloved leader with the angelic voice, just released new solo stuff as well. SHINee and the individual members’ solo projects will bring you lots of kpop joy. :)

What you just experienced is exactly what makes SHINee (pronounced Shiny -- as in shiny diamonds or shiny stars -- their name has a double ee to show just how brilliant they shine) legends. And this is the reason why they are so highly respected, and why almost everyone in the industry who came after them cites them as one of their biggest influences and one of the reasons why they wanted to become a singer and dancer, etc.
SHINee are one of the most iconic and influential groups. They are always setting trends, never following them. SHINee where designed to be SM Entertainment's experimental boy group, so everything they do is meant to be the first and they are expected to create the trend. With every new song SHINee produces it's expected to be different than the last, so you will never hear the same style or sound from them in any of their songs, even on the same album, and yet, somehow it will always sound like SHINee.
SHINee has started the trend with almost everything -- with every one of their songs to their dances to clothing trends, to live performances, to the way Kpop is promoted -- there is almost nothing that can't be attributed to something SHINee has been involved in.
You just discovered why SHINee still hold one of the top spots after almost 14 years in the industry. If you are impressed now, just wait until you go through their entire discography of songs and MVs. So far, they have 13 full-length albums (7 Korean albums and 6 Japanese albums), several repackaged albums, a multitude of mini albums, numerous OSTS, they each have solo songs and albums and there are hundreds of live performances that will absolutely leave you speechless with their talent. SHINee are part of the second generation of Kpop and, yet, they are younger than most everyone in their generation and are the same age or even younger than many members of groups who came after them, such as EXO and BTS, etc. which are part of Kpop's third generation. SHINee debuted young and have the experience of seasoned veterans.
When SHINee debuted in 2008, Onew (the leader and lead vocalist) was 18, Jonghyun (the main vocalist and songwriter) had just turned 18, Minho (the main rapper and sub-vocalist) and Key (lead vocalist and sub-rapper) were 16 and Taemin (Main dancer and lead vocalist) was 14, so now they are all in their late 20s and early 30s. (Onew turned 32 in December.) SHINee are some of the most well respected artists in the industry.
Onew (Pronounced Oh-New, real name Lee JinKi) -- the one with the fur on the back of his vest -- is the leader of the group and he has one of the most unique and best voices in the industry. (Onew means, or sounds like, the Korean words for soft or gentle, so he was given his stage name because he has a very calm and gentle personality.) His vocals are unmatched. He even holds the record (40+ seconds) for the longest continuous note without changing tone or pitch, etc.
Jonghyun -- the one with his back exposed -- is known as one of THE BEST vocalists in Kpop, who was one of the most prolific songwriters and composers of his generation. Jonghyun wrote and composed almost 40% of SHINee's songs, plus he wrote all of his own solo songs and numerous songs for other artists, such as EXO's "Playboy" and songs for Taemin, IU and Lee HI, etc. He was one of the only SM artists to be given complete artistic control over his work, including several of SHINee's song selections. SM knew that if Jonghyun was involved in any way that the song would be a hit. He was extremely respected within the industry as a songwriter, composer and singer. He was one of the very first Idols to be known for this songwriting and composing skills, and he was the first of SM's artists to have a fully self-wrote album. As the main vocalist, Jonghyun is the one you hear with all the amazing high notes and R&B runs and ad libs most of the time.
Key -- the one with his head shaved on the side -- is our fashionista of the group who is SHINee's stylist for a lot of their MVs and stage outfits. SHINee are known for setting trends and never being afraid to experiment, so Key is known for really paying attention to detail when it comes to fashion. He is known for always being unique and wanting to stand out. He is an amazing singer and is a sub-rapper in the group. He is also known as SHINee's dance copy machine. Key has the ability to see and remember choreography the fastest in the group. He only needs to watch the dance once and he has it memorized. He is also SHINee's fluent English speaker, and he is almost as good as a native speaker.
Minho -- the one with the short hair -- is the main rapper and visual of the group, but his vocals are also some of the best in the industry. Minho sings just as much as he raps. He also writes most of his own raps in SHINee's songs. Minho is a top actor and he has starred in numerous dramas and movies. He is also known as a top athlete. He says these days he goes to the gym a couple of times a day to work out just because he likes to work out, but he is also crazy about soccer, and he plays basketball, baseball and golf, and he is good at track and field events, etc., as well. And not only does he enjoy playing all those sports, but he is usually the best athlete on the field and he pretty much wins every time. Minho's nickname is "Flaming Charisma," and one reason is for his intense passion for sports and his need to always win.
Taemin -- the one with the red pants -- is considered one of THE BEST dancers in the industry (one of the top 2 best dancers of all dancers in Kpop), and that's not just by fans but by everyone in the industry, including his peers. Taemin's nickname is the Korean Michael Jackson. He is also one of the most popular solo artists and he is a member of the Kpop supergroup SuperM. Taemin truly is art when it comes to his performances.
SHINee are one of the top groups that are known for the fact that they all can do it all. They are a group of 5 amazing vocalists, 5 impressive dancers, 5 visuals, 5 rappers, 5 top actors, and 5 of the most talented and unique voices in all of Kpop. Once you get to know their voices you will always be able to pick them out of a crowd just by the sound of their voice. Most fans (SHINee World or Shawol for short) will tell you we know who is speaking or singing within 1 second even with our eyes closed, with them standing in a crowd of screaming fans. Each of their voices are that unique -- there is no one with a voice like any of theirs. That is why they are "The Princes of Kpop".
SHINee are known for their live vocals and amazing dancing. They are known as CD-quality singers because they sound just as good live, if not better, than they do recorded. SHINee always sings live. The ONLY thing they are not good at is lip syncing so they avoid it at all costs, so when you hear SHINee singing 95% of the time it will be live. It's a running joke between the fans and the members that when SHINee lip syncs you can tell because it's very obvious. So unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, SHINee will always sing live. They have trained their entire career to be able to sing live and continue to sound flawless while performing extremely complex choreography for more than 3 hours straight in concert. SHINee set the standard. That is why they are so highly respected among their peers. It is literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard all other groups strive to reach.

Talking about them training for the endurance, cardio, and maintenance of performing live; there is a video of them jogging together and singing at the same time. This is literally one of the very first Kpop song I ever heard and made me LOVE Kpop. This song is still on my playlist to this day because it's just so damn good.
SHINee has many many great songs, you basically can't go wrong with anything. Also their live performances are stunning, like "Symptoms", "Excuse Me Miss", or "Like a Fire" and many more.
All of them also have released Solo Songs/Albums, you should definitely listen to those.
My personal recommendations are Onews "Dice", Jonghyuns "She Is", Keys "Bad Love", Minhos "I'm Home" and Taemins "Move".
So glad you're finally checking out SHINee! Lucifer is definitely one of those tracks that grows on you but I think Don't Call Me and Sherlock are more your style. I also really like Married To The Music but be prepared for a weird MV!
Lucifer is just the tip of the iceberg. The more you dive deep into SHINee the more you discover their charms tbh.

They have one of the best discographies in kpop, and each member in SHINee has their own solo albums because each of them are so unique and have their own vocal color. Together, SHINee is a legendary powerhouse. I would highly recommend watching: Replay (their debut song in 2008), Sherlock (SHINee world IV performance), Excuse me miss (SHINee world IV performance), Stranger (SHINee world IV performance), Your Number (Choreography version), Married to the Music, Everybody, View, 1of1 and Good evening. Honestly you can't go wrong with any of their songs!
Shinee is the boygroup with one of the best vocals in kpop, they all have amazing voices and Onew (this guy 4:49) can even sing opera.
Check out DON'T CALL ME or ATLANTIS, it's their most recent release... If you're going to react to any of their older songs, definitely has to be "SHERLOCK" is a hit.
They are really good, and vocally really all rounded. Speaking of an all rounder, you need to check out one of the members named Teamin, he's regarded as one of the best dancers of K-pop and vocally he's really good as well. He made a name for himself and tbh personally i think he got to showcase his talents more when he was coming out with his solo stuff. My favs are Criminal and Advice.

I strongly recommend Jonghyun's (Hyeya) Y Si Fuera Ella performance, you'll see the big artist he was and always will be. This performance is so beautiful, emotional and his voice is so amazing and powerful, you'll love.

shinee is definitely a great group! i remember being obsessed with lucifer back in middle school LMAO and if you're wondering what to check out next, i definitely suggest "married to the music" that's personally one of my fave title track from them!

SHINee is a group of 5 boys, starting with Onew (the Leader), Jonghyun (Unfortunately passed away in December 2017), Teamin, Minho and Key. They made their debut on May 25, 2008, when they were between 14 and 18 years old. They are all amazing singers and dancers. Artistically very complete. They are renowned in the Kpop industry as the best when it comes to performing live. SHINee is a group always in search of renewal, they never make the same style of album, each time they have totally different sounds. Many will tell you about TEAMIN's solo albums, because he was very productive while the 3 other members (ONEW, KEY, and MINHO) were doing their military service (2018-2020) But I still want to say that all of them have released one or more solo albums in addition to continuing to perform as a group SHINee. They are all very active, between their solo activity, as a group, but also with musicals, OST, actors in dramas, model, radio MC... Their last joint album is "Don't Call Me "Coming out in February 2021.

SHINEE has an incredible variety of styles that they dip into and some very unusual genre combinations. Even the stuff that sounds "normal" at first ends up not being.
SHINee is the most versatile and experimental of any k-pop group in history. Every release of theirs is a different genre. But if they stumble onto a sound people like, they still include it through B-sides on future albums. Thus, their full albums are a JOURNEY not to be missed. I think the most critically acclaimed one is their “Odd” album. Their claim to fame are mostly dance track title tracks but with their R&B group harmonies they really go all in on ballads too and meld with any genre. Really an all-rounder group not to be missed!

I honestly love seeing people react to Shinee. Shinee is one of those groups that truly are one of the most well loved groups ever. I don't think I ever talked to a kpop fan that hasn't loved shinee. Shinee was one of the three groups that got me into kpop and I still listen to them till this day. They are all incredibly talented no matter what they do and my heart will always go out to Jonghyun. He did well, always!

"Lucifer" was my rabbit hole into SHINee and Kpop in 2018 when I heard a clip of it on the tv show "Lucifer". Looked it up and deep dived into SHINee! Lol I am subscribing with the hope you will react to more.
SuperM is a super group...also called the Avengers of K-pop which consists of 3 groups: 2 members of EXO, 4 members of NCT and 1 member of SHINee. Well they are also worth to be checked out.

Y Si Fuera Ella was written by a Latin Am performer Alejandro Sanz - Jonghyun translated it to Korean. Sanz later recognized Jonghyun's excellent performance of the piece

Omg this is the first kpop song i ever heard back in 2011 (i was 10 at that time) i was so obsessed with them, this song and shinee are such good memories. I still listen to them and still love them so much!! Seeing the shinee early years makes me miss Jonghyun so much ❤😣❤

Shinee consist of 5 vocalists. All of them have distinctive voices and together, the harmony is chef kiss. They can do any genre of music IMHO. Their B-side ballads showcase their vocal prowess excellently. All their title tracks are different yet unique. I'm new to your channel, don't your taste yet. However, I'd recommend you watch their evergreen debut song, Replay. Totally different from Lucifer. They all all soloists too.

Dont get me wrong Lucifer is a perfect song but its kind of "old kpop" soo it could be not for everyone, little risky for first reaction to a group, Im glad you liked it tho. Also about Super M, Its a group SM ( SHINee and EXO's company) made from the members of the groups already established under SM. There is one member from SHINee, ( Taemin) and there is 2 members of EXO ( Baekhyun and Kai) and there is some members of NCT. Since you didnt reacted any NCT and its too complicated with bunch of sub groups Im not going into details now.

I love it when everyone who checks out SHINee is blown away by how different they are from everyone else, how good their vocals are, how good they harmonize, how good they dance. In the "Lucifer" MV the SHINee members don't have superpowers, but the "smoke" or "light trail" you see is supposed to represent the aura of a girl who has devilish powers like Lucifer, who is trying to possess them and take over their lives. As the English lines in the song say, "Loveaholic, robotronic ... her whisper is the Lucifer." (They are using auto tune because they are supposed to be "robotronic"-ly controlled by the girl who is "The Lucifer." So the auto tune is meant to make them sound robotic.) In other words, the woman or girl they are talking about is so desirable that she is like Lucifer and you have to use all your willpower just to resist her wiles.
In the MV you see them trying to fight against Lucifer's powers and resist her attempts to try to make them bend to her will, etc. That's why in the choreography you see all the robotic moves because they are showing how "Lucifer" is trying to control them like a robot -- for example, they put their wrists together like they are being handcuffed to show how she is trapping them. And they vibrate to show how they are being manipulated by "Lucifer" and they are trying to resist her powers, etc. (FYI: That vibration you saw them do is 100% them actually shaking like that, there aren't any camera tricks. If you pay attention when they perform Lucifer live, you will see them do that exact same thing. :D)
LOL we have no idea why they had to be dancing in front of a sports car, but that was kind of an iconic thing that Kpop companies did back then in a lot of their MVs, The group would dance around a fancy car to show off their coolness and to give the video a more futuristic, expensive looking aesthetic.
"Lucifer" was released in 2010, so this was just the look that a lot of MVs had back then, in part because everyone was following SHINee's lead. Just take a look at TVXQ, Super Junior, Infinite or 2PM MV, etc. from around that time and you will see a similar look and style. SHINee was setting trends in the industry with 'Lucifer."
As trendsetters it is SHINee's job to introduce the next song style and dance trend to the industry, and when SHINee has a comeback the industry takes note and follows suit. It is said that within 3 months of SHINee's comeback you will see that same sound, style and dance trend being duplicated across the industry for both boy groups and girl groups. That's how influential SHINee is.
I'm not sure why people are often so thrown by their hairstyles and outfits in this MV. :D I think they are actually all pretty cool for doing something different that sets them apart from everyone else in the industry. And that is what makes SHINee legends and why "Lucifer" is such an iconic song and dance.You're not going to remember a group or a song if they look and sound the same as everyone else, you remember them for standing out and not being afraid to be unique.
SHINee (pronounced Shiny -- as in shiny diamonds or shiny stars -- their name has a double ee to show just how brilliant they shine) are also known for never being afraid to experiment with everything they do, including their style, and as the fashionista and stylist of the group, Key is always looking for ways to be unique, so his head was really shaved on the one side. What you see is his hair was bleached blond on the side and then shaved down to his scalp. He is known for always being unique and wanting to stand out. That's why Key's style is often just straddling the edge of outrageous, but somehow always manages to look cool.
Fun fact: I think one reason why Minho's hair is so short at this time is because their previous comeback was with their song "Ring Ding Dong," and all the members had pretty long, shaggy hairstyles. However, Minho has never liked having long hair. So, I think for "Lucifer" Minho decided to rebel and go really short.
This was also the era where Taemin had long hair and it made him one of the most popular of the members at the time, especially with their Japanese fans. The Japanese culture really embraces men with long hair and the members said that he was one of the most popular at the time because of his style. Taemin with long hair is so iconic and many in the fandom were really sad when he eventually cut his hair.
So, in this MV, Taemin had just turned 17. Onew and Jonghyun are 20 and Key and Minho are 18.
With SHINee's experimental concept, nothing they do will ever be like anything they have ever done before and that includes all the songs on each album. Every song and MV will be completely different from each other with a whole different, look and style every time. Whenever SHINee releases something new, the only thing we expect is that it will be a brand new sound, look and dance style that we have never seen before. That's why their discography is so diverse and why they are able to continue to stay relevant even after almost 14 years.
If you want to see where SHINee truly shines, if you haven't yet, you have to check out their iconic performance of "Lucifer" Live in concert. "Lucifer" is actually known as one of the most difficult songs and dances to cover because of its tutting and popping and for the fact that it has a very fast paced beat with dance moves that are very sharp and precise which are designed to hit every beat of the song. And the song itself is very complicated with the songs wide range of notes and flow.
Many amateurs have thought "Lucifer" looks like one of SHINee's more simple songs and dances. But the minute they try to sing the song and/or dance the choreography, they soon discover that it is way more complicated than they thought. It only looks and sounds simple, because SHINee makes it look that way. It's funny because when they came to meet SHINee to start the practice, Jonghyun asked them why they chose this song of all songs, and they said because it looks manly and they thought it was fairly easy to cover. But the first thing Jonghyun said to them, while laughing, was "oh no, actually it's one of our more difficult choreography and it took us extra time to really perfect it." :D
You definitely should check out the dance practice. SHINee's "Lucifer" dance practice was the very first dance practice video ever released specifically for fans. SHINee is the group that started the trend and they are why dance practice videos are even a thing today. :D It was the very first dance practice video to go viral. Back then dance practice videos were filmed for the group and artists to watch to help them remember the moves and to fix mistakes, etc. They weren't intended for a mass audience. But SM realized that fans were starting to try and copy SHINee's choreography and they decided to film a dance practice and release it to the public. SHINee's dance practice videos became so popular that other companies and groups started to do the same and show off their choreography by releasing dance practices too.
SHINee is your idols's idol; they are the trendsetters; and they are still relevant 14 years after debut. Every one of them is an amazing soloist, as well as incredibly active in a huge variety of things outside of the group (but even when they are promoting their solo work, they promote SHINee as well). The only song that remains banned for them is ring ding dong but only during school exams time in Korea an japan. Because students when listening to it couldn't study because it remained stuck in their heads.

Shinee is from SM Entertainment where all the best visuals and vocals reside. Seriously, there's something in the water at SM. Taemin, long haired guy, couldn't even sing when Shinee debuted but now is a great singer. Taemin is considered the best dancer in k-pop. He's best friends with EXO's Main Dancer, Kai. Shinee are legends from the second generation so their old stuff sounds different. K-pop is in the 4th generation now. You should check out other second generation groups from SM Entertainment like TVXQ and Super Junior.
Shinee has great live shows. Taemin is a successful solo artist these days so you should check out his solo songs. Taemin is also a member of SuperM. Taemin debuted when very young so debuted with Shinee during the second generation. He debuted as a soloist during the third generation and debuted with SuperM during the fourth generation of k-pop.

Jonghyun RIP! It was a hard blow when it was announced that he committed suicide. SHINee is a second generation band ... they were babies (like BTS who are 3rd generation) when they debuted - check out their debut song Replay. Their fans are called Shawols :)
Also another great second generation band is DBSK (korean short for Song Bang Shin Ki - Rising Gods of the East) aka TVQX (Chinese) aka Tohoshinki (in Japanese) .. their 5 member line-up was iconic (they are now a duo). Check out Mirotic (the dance version).
