Oh yes, Lucifer is epic!! You should check out their Lucifer live from concerts, it is so hyped and out of this world- Their live vocals are insanely good!! They are also nicknamed "cd-nees" because of that. They also performed Lucifer as a rock version- its incredible!! It is said that to be in a SHINee concert you would loose several pounds just from bouncing with them 3 + hours straight!! :D
Oh you must watch their Ring Ding Dong & Lucifer live performance from SWC5 concert. It’s amazing their live performance always hit different and the whole industry agreed 😊
Some groups rely on special effects to enhance their performance, SHINee stripped bare shows how much pure talents ALWAYS "shines" out in songs. That's how, when they have the added benefit of the tech today that their songs stand out so much. This song is such a vibe and makes you chair dance or gets you moving. What a group -- Key's look is so wild and fun in this. LOVE SHINee always. Thanks for the reaction and SHINee love. How can anyone not love them?
You should look at Shinee World V and they do this live. It’s epic! Along with Ring DingDong. Two songs performed back to back that is one is unbelievable.
In SHINee's "Lucifer" MV the "smoke" or "light trail" you see is supposed to represent the aura of a girl who has devilish powers like Lucifer, who is trying to possess them and take over their lives. As the English lines in the song say, "Loveaholic, robotronic ... her whisper is the Lucifer." (They are using auto tune because they are supposed to be "robotronic"-ly controlled by the girl who is "The Lucifer." So the auto tune is meant to make them sound robotic.) In other words, the woman or girl they are talking about is so desirable that she is like Lucifer and you have to use all your willpower just to resist her wiles. Onew (pronounced Oh-New in English or On-New with a Korean accent) is the one with the vest with the fur on the back, Jonghyun is the one with the backless vest with the crazy high note, Key has the side of his head shaved, Minho is the tallest one who is the rapper with the short hair and Taemin is the one with the red pants and the long hair. In the MV you see them trying to fight against Lucifer's powers and resist her attempts to try to make them bend to her will, etc. That's why in the choreography you see all the robotic moves because they are showing how "Lucifer" is trying to control them like a robot. For example, they put their wrists together like they are being handcuffed to show how she is trapping them, and they vibrate to show how they are being manipulated by "Lucifer" and they are trying to resist her powers, etc. FYI: That vibration you saw them do is 100% them actually shaking like that, there aren't any camera tricks. If you pay attention when they perform "Lucifer" live, you will see them do that exact same thing. :D When they explain to people how to do that move they say you have to "tense all your muscles and then pretend like you are being startled." Just wait until you see some of Taemin's solo performances and discover how much of an expert he is a popping and ticking. He is considered one of the best poppers in the industry, and he can literally isolate every joint and muscle individually and make any part of his body vibrate at warpspeed. LOL we have no idea why they had to be dancing in front of a sports car, but that was kind of an iconic thing that Kpop companies did back then in a lot of their MVs. The group would dance around a fancy car to show off their coolness and to give the video a more futuristic, expensive looking aesthetic. "Lucifer" was released in 2010 -- 13 years ago -- so this was just the look that a lot of MVs had back then, in part because everyone was following SHINee's lead. Just take a look at TVXQ's, Super Junior's, Infinite's or 2PM's MVs, etc. from around that time and you will see a similar look and style. SHINee was setting trends in the industry with 'Lucifer." I agree. I'm not sure why people are often so thrown by their hairstyles and outfits in this MV. :D I think they are actually all pretty cool for doing something different that sets them apart from everyone else in the industry. That is what makes SHINee legends and why "Lucifer" is such an iconic song and dance. You're not going to remember a group or a song if they look and sound the same as everyone else, you remember them for standing out and not being afraid to be unique. SHINee are also known for never being afraid to experiment with everything they do, including their style, and as the fashionista and stylist of the group, Key is always looking for ways to be unique, so his head was really shaved on the one side. What you see is his hair was bleached blond on the side and then shaved down to his scalp. He is known for always being unique and wanting to stand out. That's why Key's style is often just straddling the edge of outrageous, but somehow always manages to look cool. Fun fact: I think one reason why Minho's hair is so short at this time is because their previous comeback was with their song "Ring Ding Dong," and all the members had pretty long, shaggy hairstyles. However, Minho has never liked having long hair. So, I think for "Lucifer" Minho decided to rebel and go really short. This was also the era where Taemin had long hair and it made him one of the most popular of the members at the time, especially with their Japanese fans. The Japanese culture really embraces men with long hair and the members said that he was one of the most popular at the time because of his style. Taemin with long hair is so iconic and many in the fandom were really sad when he eventually cut his hair. So, in this MV, Taemin had just turned 17. Onew and Jonghyun are 20 and Key and Minho are 18. If you want to see where SHINee truly shines, if you haven't yet, you have to check out a performance of "Lucifer" Live in concert at their SHINee World Concert III (SWC3) in Seoul from 2014, th-cam.com/video/Fm5n8Q2XO34/w-d-xo.html, and/or their "Ring Ding Dong" and "Lucifer" set at their SHINee World Concert V (SWC5) in Seoul in 2016, th-cam.com/video/mtFK7FxKdLs/w-d-xo.html. This is a perfect example of how you can tell they are singing live and killing it every time. SHINee doesn't need auto tune, and if you hear them perform the song live, they often don't use it. "Lucifer" is actually known as one of the most difficult songs and dances to cover because of its tutting and popping and for the fact that it has a very fast paced beat with dance moves that are very sharp and precise, which are designed to hit every beat of the song. (They actually refer to that tutting formation as a bug or worm. Their arms are supposed to look like the legs of a creature.) And the song itself is very complicated with the songs wide range of notes and flow. Many amateurs have thought "Lucifer" looks like one of SHINee's more simple songs and dances. But the minute they try to sing the song and/or dance the choreography, they soon discover that it is way more complicated than they thought. It only looks and sounds simple, because SHINee makes it look that way. Check out this clip of SHINee teaching a group of actors and comedians "Lucifer" as part of a challenge on the variety show "Invincible Baseball Team," th-cam.com/video/-TLCK7KbLus/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/0V02cQwYLMQ/w-d-xo.html. It's funny because when they came to meet SHINee to start the practice, Jonghyun asked them why they chose this song of all songs, and they said because it looks manly and they thought it was fairly easy to cover. But the first thing Jonghyun said to them, while laughing, was "oh no, actually it's one of our most difficult and it took us extra time to really perfect it." :D
You definitely should check out the dance practice. SHINee's "Lucifer" dance practice was the very first dance practice video ever in the Kpop industry, released specifically for fans. SHINee is the group that started the trend and their "Lucifer" dance practice video is why dance practice videos are even a thing today. :D It was the very first dance practice video to go viral. Back then, dance practice videos were filmed for the group and artists to watch to help them remember the moves and to fix mistakes, etc. They weren't intended for a mass audience. But SM realized that fans were starting to try and copy SHINee's choreography, so they decided to film a dance practice and release it to the public. SHINee's dance practice videos became so popular that other companies and groups started to do the same and show off their choreography by releasing dance practices too. But like everything SHINee does, they were the first.
Fun fact: Lucifer was just named #16 by Rolling Stones on their list of the 100 Greatest Songs in the History of Korean Music. Also, the Dance Practice for LUCIFER is what kickstarted dance practices being popular. Besides being at the iconic SM cloud-backed practice room, there’s Taemin’s iconic trippy t-shirt and the toilet paper marker. LOL. Lucifer was the first time SHINee was given significant input into the creative direction of their album, from music to styling. Obviously, they did well-they helped change the public’s perception of idols and brought KPOP even further into the global market. In fact, it charted on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart for 57 weeks. Another fun fact about “Lucifer” - it was played during a fight scene in the 13th episode of the third season of the TV series Lucifer: th-cam.com/video/-LDFcq49YFQ/w-d-xo.html (a cut of the scene). SHINee also performed the choreo under water for a VCR played during their SWC5: th-cam.com/video/WqeBAagm9_8/w-d-xo.html . Additionally, I’ve looked to see the other songs you’ve reacted to and I’m surprised to find you haven’t yet reacted to K-pop’s introduction to EDM, since you’re an EDM producer. Care to guess which experimental group brought that genre over to KPOP? 😂 Of course, it’s SHINee!!! I think you’ll freak over “Everybody”. The MV is seriously cool, but I’d love if you’d do a double-reaction and include their Tokyo Dome performance as it’s easily regarded as one of the best performances of the song by our guys, according to practically every other Shawol I know. I’ll drop the links for you! Everybody MV: th-cam.com/video/hKbNV-4b_g8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UmZgAX6l6N9U0tAr Tokyo Dome SWCIV: th-cam.com/video/P_VJ_flgEVo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cEp01YcZ2WOdDFrO
This was an ERA. I got into kpop around 2007 during 2nd gen and there are soooooo many hits that are worth listening to, even in your own time and not on camera. 2nd gen kpop was a fucking era.
Even after more than 10 years, Lucifer is still my favorite song (along with View - which I highly recommend if you haven't reacted yet)!! For the next reaction, I believe Ring Ding Dong is the best choice, and afterward, please watch the remix of RDD + Lucifer live!! Jonghyun is insane on vocals!! Thank you so much for the reaction, I subscribed to your channel a little while ago and I will always be here for your reactions to SHINee 💎✨
Actually, "Lucifer" debuted in 2010, and the one singing his heart out is our legendary angel, Jonghyun, best vocalist and most powerful in Kpop. He is now a guardian angel for SHINee and his spirit is still a part of them. SHINee will always be 5HINee. Onew (pronounced On-you) is the one with the longer, slicked-back hair in the fur-backed vest; Key has the 1/2 shaved head, Minho has the close-cropped black hair & raps, and Taemin has the long, reddish-brown hair. There is a live of this song that everyone reacts to. It's a combo of their song "Ring, Ding, Dong" paired with "Lucifer": th-cam.com/video/mtFK7FxKdLs/w-d-xo.html In that MV, you will see just how powerful Jonghyun was as a live vocalist. As they continually did, SHINee created a turning point for Kpop with "Lucifer" because it's iconic dance practice video (with Taemin's psychedelic zebra shirt) ushered in the trend of Kpop groups regularly posting DP videos to the point where it is almost a requirement now. Another milestone for Kpop which helped to advance dance practices was SHINee's display of this more complex and extremely synchronized choreo. Prior to this, choreos weren't as complex or so structured. However, this choreo, the most difficult in that era, included tutting and several other genres all mixed into a seamless choreo that was something new. I like to think this was influenced by Taemin being a self-taught dancer who was already more advanced in such things as tutting, popping/locking and isolations when he entered SM at just 12. The other brothers have said that it was Taemin who was always pushing for more rigorous and difficult choreos -- to their chagrin. Here is the dance practice (it's not the polished type you see today...lol: th-cam.com/video/ovztfpWPo5M/w-d-xo.html "Lucifer" was also the background music for the 13th episode of the TV show, "Lucifer" in Season 3.
Hi Tylr, cualquier canción que veas es fenomenal 😅, puedes seguir cronológicamente su crecimiento y será excelente seguir viendo tus reacciones 🫶💎éxito, see you soon.
Jsyk you're still consistently confusing the two vocal powerhouses, Onew and Jonghyun. 😆 Fun fact: Bebe Rexha composed the demo to Lucifer when she was 17. She sent it to South Korea and SM picked it up. Another fun fact: SNSD's The Boys has an official English version - the MV is also on their YT channel. They have several songs released in English because they promoted and were active in the US for a few years in the early-mid 2010's and did fairly well. (Also if you've watched their "Gee" MV, the male actor featured is Shinee's own Minho.)
The one who you thought was Onew is actually Jonghyun

Know this song from the Tv show "Lucifer". They're playing this song during Lucifers fight with korean drug dealers. It's so hilarious!!
At 7:03, that’s Jonghyun 😊 not Onew. The member that passed away.
Onew is at 7:48
