    The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an open world action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the fifth main installment in The Elder Scrolls series, following The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 11, 2011.
    The game's main story revolves around the player character and their quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world. The videogame is set two hundred years after the events of Oblivion, and takes place in the fictional province of Skyrim. Over the course of the game, the player completes quests and develops the character by improving skills. The game continues the open world tradition of its predecessors by allowing the player to travel anywhere in the game world at any time, and to ignore or postpone the main storyline indefinitely.

      @Ryan Dunham Birthright.net is the official fan site for the setting. I'm sure you would be able to find a 5e conversion there. There is also the 3rd party 5e supplement _Strongholds and Followers_ which is useful for building kingdoms. If you're dead set on doing Birthright in 2e, you can get all the 2e rulebooks and Birthright material online pretty easily. As for playing online, check out Roll20, it's fairly simple to learn. Rpgtablefinder should be able to help with finding or starting up a face to face group. I hope this was helpful.

    Imagine if we can become a Duke or lord in TES6 and have different political interactions like meetings and court summons. Maybe even assassination attempts and darker tactics - allies and enemies. I just love the idea of optionally becoming an up-and-coming Duke and being met with by different Lords with different ideals which suit certain playstyles like a lawful good for the people type lord and a sly and secretive Lord who's power is through dark magic, pacts with daedra and even assassinations, opinions?

  • @BaronRemy99
    @BaronRemy99 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    I see some people debating wether they would want High Rock or Hammerfeel more for TES6. My question is... why not have both?
    If what Bethesda says (whether you still trust them or not is up to you) is true, TES6 is going to be a massive game, way more likely to come to next gen consoles than the current gen.
    This means that Bethesda could have both provinces in their full glory in one game, and I think that would be the best case. High Rock is a smaller province, and I don't know if it has enough area for an big game like TES6, and while Hammerfell is larger, alot of it is desert.
    Having both would not only satiate the need for a large world, but it would also satisfy everyone. The people who want a more typical fantasy get High Rock to explore, and the people who want something a bit different have Hammerfell.
    This also gives alot of story and roleplaying possiblities too. Like imagine becoming a knight-errant from High Rock crossing into Hammerfell to to help people in need. Then you get embroiled in a conflict with the Thalmor over there, and depending on what happens, it effects High Rock in some way.
    Having both High Rock and Hammerfell would be amazing IMHO. It would open up alot of possibilities and having two different provinces would give players alot to explore and find.

      @@carbonbased669 I never said its all desert or that there isn't any geographical other features of Hammerfell. Hammerfell still has plenty to see, of course, but a part of it may feel empty if its a huge desert with not much to see.

    I can't help but think that Hammerfell would be a better pick for the sixth game, not because it's more interesting, but because I fear High Rock won't live up to the expectations. Both places have great potential, but High Rock isn't suited for the kind of streamlined experience Bethesda has been making since the last decade. Instead, we can get a rarely seen setting that is the home of important places such as Sentinel, Volenfell, and Rihad; with the possibility of DLC in Stros M’Kai, or delving into the history of Yokuda, or fighting Thras. Bethesda have had a LOT of NPCs in their games that had made an appearance in a previous instalment. (Giant list at bottom of comment).
    Which forces the question......Which returning characters would you imagine seeing in Elder Scrolls 6?
    Obviously it all depends on when ES6 will take place. Will it continue with the Thalmor plot, or will there be another giant time-jump as between ES4&5. It also depends on the type of NPC (race, vampire, soul owned by a daedra, etc) and also where the next game is set. If ES6 is set in Hammerfell and the civil war has the Empire winning in cannon, then it could be possible that many Talos worshippers would flee there as refugee's - including some named NPC's that supported Ulfric.
    There are so many posibilties and I would love to get your take on it. Possible video even.
    *A list of NPC's that have appeared in more than one Elder Scrolls game*
    (not counting daedra and other beings of that type)
    Jiub, Karstaag, Ulfgar the Unending, Neloth Telvanni, Lucien Lachance, Dervenin, Elante of Alinor, Falx Carius, Gratian Caerellius, Sinderion. Even the Champion of Cyrodiil returns in Skyrim as Sheogorath.

    • @San_Vito
      @San_Vito 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I agree. Both Oblivion and Skyrim just don't care about the lore. You read the books and then see the world and they don't really feel like they are one and the same. Bethesda screwed over Cyrodiil's internal conflict between Nibenese and Colovian cultures, and just omitted the Nordic Pantheon in Skyrim (well, they mention Shor like twice in the game, but that's it), among other stuff. They insist on making generic fantasy games in a world full of lore they don't respect.

Two years before the first GoT was released, and in the middle of the period in which GRRM was writing the first book. I wonder if Highrock is a reference?

    I want Highrock to be the next Elder Scrolls 6 location because I love the Breton medieval style kingdoms been a game of thrones marrying cousins and other relatives to keep the power in the family and been opportunistic people. To me the Bretons are the most versatile race in the Elder Scrolls been mages, thieves, knights, battlemages whatever they remind me a lot of modern humans we are very versatile some better at some stuff than others but we have the potential to learn whatever skill we want, learn different language and even pick up things from different cultures. I think one thing the Elder Scrolls should have is romances not just do a quest for a person and instantly marry them you have to build a relationship up with them and you can be lovers and marry, also have children the traditional way people know what I mean or adopt children say if your character for some reason can't have kids, if the person you marry can't, if you have a same sex marriage or if you just want to adopt so sort of have the romances be sort of like Fable but more advanced

    One thing I like a lot about TES is how you can mostly never be certain about events. I heard one time that fell, like in volenfell. Don't come from english but from elvish, and it means kingdom. So Volenfell mean kingdom of Volen or kingdom of hammer. So that thing of the dagger may be just false. Maybe the king just liked the idea of naming his realm after some weapon, maybe he really liked daggers, or maybe he for some reason was called "the dagger" or something. and them in the future people try to guess why would he name the realm like that and just look to hammerfell and supose it's the same history

    The richness of Breton lore and of High Rock is precisely why Bugthesda will _never_ make a game set there post-Daggerfall as long as Howard and Hines are in charge. Creativity and detail are dirty words to them when they could be making shooters that masquerade as RPGs they can also monetize the hell out of. If we want a TES title even half as good as Skyrim, much less older games, then there has got to be a changing of the guard in the company.

    • @anthonylongoria2638
      @anthonylongoria2638 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'd say the opposite really. I mean, Skyrim and Hammerfell both have two major political parties, for Skyrim it's the civil war between the Imperial supporters and the Stormcloak supporters, Hammerfell has the Crowns and the Forebears who have it heavily separated in terms of views just like in Skyrim(With the same views as those in Skyrim) while High Rock is on a level of it's own as far as politics goes making both Hammerfell and Skyrim look like childsplay.
      For religion I'd say it's on par with High Rock. Since both have different ideas and names from the "norm".
      Geography is another one that is on a higher level for High Rock being similar to that of Cyrodiil, having a bit of everything that is. Hammerfell geographically is more like the mirror of Skyrim, instead of a cold tundra we have a hot desert. Both have mountain areas, Skyrim has forest where as Hammerfell has palm coast, cold plains to grasslands, marshes/wetlands for small islands(Don't mean this as a one for one trade, just that in terms of biomes, neither is exactly a melting-pot of variation), I mean given the creatures in Hammerfell, we'd pretty much be getting the bastard child of Skyrim and fallout 4/3. While with High Rock at least there'd be a good variation in both regions and creatures. There's also the whole possible Dragonborn to Sword-Singer thing and given Bethesdas obsession with making you the chosen one, that would be not only likely, but predictable, not even remotely a change of pace imo
