In our latest Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim video we explain the origins of the nine divines.
Dragonbreaks: • The MOST Confusing Con...
Godhead, CHIM & Amaranth: • There is Only ONE God ...
Complete Guide to Gods: • The COMPLETE Guide to ...
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an open world action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the fifth main installment in The Elder Scrolls series, following The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 11, 2011.
The game's main story revolves around the player character and their quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world. The videogame is set two hundred years after the events of Oblivion, and takes place in the fictional province of Skyrim. Over the course of the game, the player completes quests and develops the character by improving skills. The game continues the open world tradition of its predecessors by allowing the player to travel anywhere in the game world at any time, and to ignore or postpone the main storyline indefinitely.

Baron of Bahlingen But that was still a recognized god by both. Bad or good it was a god and everyone agreed on that. And Talos was Tiber Septim, the guy who commited an actual massacre who reaches the borders of genocide to conquer Summerset with his magical robot. Honestly if my ruler/ex ruler worshipped a ruler like that I would be pissed too. Of course the Thalmor dont give a fuck since they want to undo reality, something that probably only the higher commanders of the thalmor know, but the difference of the Third Dominion confronted with past incarnations is that supremacist movements never got in control before. The third and fourth era Thalmor succeed where the Veiled Heritance failed because the Veiled Heritance did not have something to rally all the altmers behind, while the Thalmors are usign a legit indignation to spread their racism. It's the same difference between the reasonable approach taken after Napoleon defeat, where the victors considered what there was of good and what there was of bad in the past regime to deal with it with reason and the Treaty of Versailles after ww1 who caused such indignation and consequences that Hitler was able to raise in power. Hitler was evil and so are the Thalmor but the reasons for that indignation are not evil nor wrong

I’ve been watching a lot of your Skyrim builds and it got me thinking. Bethesda should use some of them as one time random encounters that can act like mini boss fights. The characters name can be just “Akaviri knight” or “shaman” or whatever their build is. And depending on if their morals align with the character you’ve made they can offer a permanent passive perk and help you out or try and kill you where if you defeat them get a unique item or something (like loads of gold from the bounty hunter) it’d be a nice way of Bethesda acknowledging you guys as well as really cool for the player to randomly come across “the abomination” and other builds.

I'd say personally that Akatosh is Alessia combining the Elven Auriel with the Nordic Alduin.
I think part of the reason that the Aedra are so conceptually malleable is because they are literally part of the mortal world of mundus and in turn are part of mortals as a whole. Hence the beliefs of their descendants can collectively change certain aspects of their being whilst the Daedra, having given up none of their power, are more consistent and constant throughout the ages.

16:24 my personal theory is that mehrunes dagon took a nosedive cuz he had nothing to gain from winning that war... Think about it if he wins he would not be needed again and therefore no longer be worshiped and lose all of his might

      @@TheImmortalBloodwolf Harassing, lmao.
It is merely pointing out people being wrong. The gods in TES do not gain power from worship, all I did was point that out. If you dislike hearing facts, then maybe keep your nonsense to yourself.

I don't mean to sound rude, but unlike in other games or lores, the Elder Scrolls gods do not necessarily need mortals' worship to be strong. I know it sounds weird, but they were never sapped of their power. They simply need remind people of themselves if they get bored. In fact, it would be very difficult to forget that the Daedra exist, given their constant tampering in mortal affairs.

All right, first, I want to preface my question to FudgeMuppet by saying this: I am quite aware that there are some definite differences between the two Daedric Princes I'm going to bring up. However, while I can usually tell the difference whenever it's brought up, that doesn't mean that there aren't times when I get confused, uncertain, start nitpicking, etc. And from what I've gathered, these two have the most overlap in their sphere of influence, to the point where it's sometimes impossible to tell where they diverge. Who knows, though; perhaps it's because I've got Aspergers, and I hate uncertainty, but I prefer to make things clearer, easier to understand, to keep distinguishable, and the activity of these two princes (their love of betrayal, killing, manipulation, deceit, lying, assassination, etc) are often too similar to do that.
(Ugh, what I wouldn't give for an explanation of the princes and divines from the perspective of someone on the spectrum..., or at least to know of one activity that is completely exclusive to that specific Prince/divine)
Now, I've looked around on the internet, and know that I'm not the only one who's expressed confusion. So, my question/request to FudgeMuppet (assuming that they actually read all the comments and do requests) is this:
What is the difference between the spheres of influence of Boethiah and Mephala? Again, I've managed to ascertain a fair amount of differences (Boethiah, essentially, demands that their followers be the best of the best, look out for number one, and be willing to go to any lengths to achieve their goals, no matter how underhanded. Mephala, however, seems to just like screwing with the lives of mortals for the sheer heck of it), but a more definitive explanation from the 'professional Daedrologist' is something I feel would help clear things up.

I find it interesting that Kynareth is more important to man than elf in TES lore. In pretty much every fantasy setting it's always man that doesn't respect nature as much as they should

Okay did Akatosh really say "worship the 9 divines?" Because like the video says there were 8 divines for the longest time through out the ages. Was there any real proof that Talos really rose into divinity and became accepted as one of Aedra by the other gods? Im not really well-versed in this specific lore and need some clarification
