    Don't forget to inspect the chrome for nicks and burrs. These will need to be addressed with a file .

    Morgan!
    I’m still recovering from having my bicep re-attached, but have collected the parts for the zeta 30mm internal lowering kit for my yz250x in an attempt to make up for my tiny little legs.😁
    The instructions called for Teflon tape on the threads to pull the damper thru the seal. How do you feel about that vs the grease on to protect the seal?
    Hope to be recovered by the awesomenesses at the mile markers. Keep up the great videos.

      Teflon tape works for sure. The grease works too and then you don't have to take it off. You do have to be a little more careful with the grease method (ie don't just shove it through super hard) but either way. Glad you are healing up man. Can't wait to see those tiny legs touching the ground.

      @@highlandcycles roger that, thx.
      I like the idea of not having to pick Teflon tape from the threads. As far as touching the ground, that’ll take more than my low seat and 30mm to make that happen. The nice thing is that if it makes the bike handle like crap, it’s easily reversible.

    Hi Morgan,
    I would like to know what's the tool's name that you use to push the outer bushing (minute 7:35) ? Thanks

    Just did my first side on my 2022 250X. Bike only had 6 hours and seals developed a leak. I researched on the YZX forum and purchased the SFK dual compounds. Question for you;
    The retaining clips that goes between the fork seal and dust seal appears to be a little too long to fully seat in the retainer groove. When I put the clip in the tube I see the two ears or ends of that clip over lapping by an 1/8 of an inch or so which prevents it from fully seating all the way around inside the tube. Is this normal or do the clips needs to be trimmed down a smidge with a grinder or cut with a pair of metal snips? I decided to wait until I could figure it out as I didn’t want the clip to come out while riding.

      That’s not normal. Something is off

      @@highlandcycles yeah that’s what I thought also which is why I paused mid way through.
      I believe I even took the factory one (I was trying the clip first that came with the new seals) and even the factory one seemed to do the same. The SFK clip has slightly different flares then the factory.
      Maybe I need to drive the seal in a smidge further? I have the driver tool.

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WeGoOutdoors I have seen that a lot. That style clip doesn’t always want to go into its home. It can hang up on the lip of the seal

    • @WeGoOutdoors
      @WeGoOutdoors ปีที่แล้ว

      @@highlandcycles thank you for the feedback I really appreciate it. Would you chuck the SFK’s and just reuse the stock fork retainer clip?
      The only other option is to disassemble the fork completely again and pull the seal out, I fear I might damage it doing that. Not really sure what to do, but it did look like the SFK clip was a smidge thicker in diameter and a pinch longer. When I lay the SFK clip over the OE clip it looks like the ends of the SFK are a tad longer.
