- Turkish Katmer is a famous flatbread made in stovetop in a pan or griddle. It is a rich bread with butter and has no yeast. With an easy unique technique, we create layers inside the bread which makes unresistible delicious :)
Katmer Layered Flat Bread Ingredients: (12 small size katmer bread)
1 cup water
1/2 tsp salt
about 2 to 2+1/4 cup flour
For the butter layers:
2 heaped tbsp butter (60 gr)
4 tbsp olive oil (in total I used 75 gr. butter-oil mixture)
1 heaped tbsp flour
a rolling pin

Indeed , but maybe the dough in here is slightly different, but combining all it's all same , yeah maybe I can call it _turkish laccha paratha_ ??

Ramazan bayramı mübarek olsun 😍🌙!
Hi, greatings from Macedonia. :) I found your channel looking for Turkish recipes. I love Turkish cuisine because our Macedonian cuisine is very similar to the Turkish. Other than the Balkan cuisine, the Turkish is the most similar. I remember my father telling me that in the village were he was raised there were a lot of Turkish residents. He says that the Turkish women sometimes will go to his mother and bring her some cooked food that they had made because they were very poor. They were even teached her how to cook and how to make these Turkish breads like pogacha and the like.
Thank you my sister I made this today for iftaar and it came out flaky..and tasty..
You and your daughter are great. Happy Ramadan
Thanks
Many people are commenting that it’s called paratha in India and Pakistan. But I learned some more tips from this recipe that I will use in my parathas. Especially putting the logs in the fridge to harden the butter and make better layers. We don’t do that with parathas. This recipe is like a paratha and also croissant. I’m going to try it with whole wheat flour.
In my country we call this kulaç and eat it usually with yougurt or ayran, yours looks so tasty and perfectly baked.Well done.Selam
Mitrovica Torcida I’m Turkish and I have never tried with ayran or yogurt but it would be nice 👍 are you from the Balkan?
@@iremtt Üste koyup soslu yoğurt döküyorlar işte.
LetsRock1t aynen ama ben hiç Türkiye’de öyle yapıldığını görmedim :) Var mı öyle yapan?
Tessekur ederim for your recipes!
I love turkish food, and whenever i follow your recipes, they always come out just the way hey should, as i remember them from Turkey!
Made this recipe twice now, a great success. Thank you so much.
Ramadhan Mubarak. We have this in East Africa and we call it chapati but instead of butter/oil with flour we usually spread either oil or margarine or both and sprinkle flour b4 folding it.
I will try making butter, oil and flour. Looks neat as well ...
يسلمك يداك
Ma Sha Allah 😍 your daughter will be soon master chef as her mom inn Sha Allah 👍.
Merhaba Ayşenur bacı... I made Katmer today. It tastes delicious. I omit the recipe by adding 1 cup of all purpose flour and 1 cup of whole wheat flour. In Pakistan we called it paratha. Lots of love from Pakistan 💕🇵🇰🇵🇰
Im from mauritius island we call it farata or layered roti. We use oil or margarine or ghee (its a thick fat removed from milk) for the layers, and some people mix that with the flour for layers or just use lots of flour when they roll the fough thin. We dont cook the flour butter mixture here.
For the sweet version since we never had tahini here, people just either oil/magarine/ghee and sugar.
This recipe is perfect since there's no yeast in the stores due to panic buying. Looks delicious!
If you are desperate for yeast, you can make it at home by capturing it from air and feeding the starter. The way to do it is shown here on TH-cam. Will take 5-7 days but you will have the yeast culture for a lifetime.
Mes salutations à la Turquie, du Canada, Sherbrooke....j'aime beaucoup vos recettes...celle-ci me plaît beaucoup. Merci pour ce beau partage. C'est à réaliser
I can eat it every day in breakfast with anything like chicken, curry, cream, tea, ,chickpea curry goes very well with it. I love to eat it.

Hello from Boston. It's been hard to find yeast at the store these days. I'm looking forward to trying this out. Thank you for the wonderful recipe
Hi, happy to hear that hope you enjoyn
Fantastic & thank you for taking the time to show us the technique in making your flatbreads. I am definitely going to try & make them & hope it turns out just like yours,
Ah! Katmer goes splendidly with aged cheeses, tahini with molasses, just molasses, all kinds of jams, sweet spreads, sour or savory spreads too.
İt's flour and butter, so doesn't clash with many food items.
İt's good as a wrap too.
I used to have wraps of katmer and cheese as a lunch for work.
İt needs some drink with it though. Tea is my choice obviously.
Lovely consistency with the dough, very insightful.. Thank you4your recipe.. Could u add garlic&parsley too the dough..???
I love all your recipes! It's such a wonderful idea to get your daughter involved! InShaA I hope she grows up to be a wonderful cook like you!
Tried this recipe on eid, everyone loved it.
This is a paratha. Shows that cuisine is truly global. I wonder about the origin now
You are absolutely dumb if you have to just wonder about that. Many of the nonsense from Northern India came from 900 years of Islamic (Persian and Turkish) invasions. And they also took a lot of advanced math, science etc from India back to their countries.
@@1sr0 you sure lack class
This is something new for me! It looks marvelous!!
Thank you from Algeria and good bless you.
I am Turkish and I get paratha from local Indian market here in USA. It is perfect especially when you put some feta cheese and wrap it in the breakfast.

This recipe reminds me of our four tortillas except without the butter part. I can't wait ti try your recipe.
Merhaba#ramadan Mubarak.very beautiful roti.from..Lots love. Pakistan
In Chinese cuisine they have a different version for it, called cong you bing, its with green onions and so yummy.
Also in your thini version can be used with date syrup instead of sugar for healthier.
It’s beautiful subhanallah thank you
Wow it is great im going to make it for shari it is really wonderful recipe
ماشاء الله روعه تسلم ايديك
Your daughter did an excellent job! Is this the same as tahini bread? It looks like a much easier recipe and technique than I have seen before.

i love everything about turkey now after watching ertugrul.. 😆 -merhaba from malaysia
I love turkey’s food
🤗thank you for sharing this wonderful video. It’s looks really good recipes. I’m going to try this 😇
I never have seen (Village) Turkish people (family/friends/neighbors)making this. In my country the Turkish community is very large and are from all over Turkey. I like to discover new things. It’s a lot of work and I think that Turkish people prefer to make Lachmacun or Gözleme from dough than you have a whole meal, instead a part of the meal 😉 I know it as Paratha we eat with meat/chicken curry and Dhal. I love Turkish dough dishes but my generation can’t make it busy with studies and work. Sometimes Iam afraid that some dishes will disappear 😞
I love your videos, they make me smile soo much 😊! Thank you Aysenur! ❤️ ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ from Florida!
My pleasure 😊 💕
She did very good! 🥰💞. Aysenur. You always make me feel so good! Thank you for being you! 🙏👍💖🥰☕️🥃
