Just made these this afternoon for friends coming over to enjoy a curry. I added a little oil to the mix, so easy to do, bit time consuming but turned out soft and flaky and everyone loved them. Thanks xx
I made these for my husband and I with some fajita meat, bellpepper and shredded cheese. This is a MUST make if you're interested in crafting some hand-made breads. Ours turned out a little thicker than probably prefered by most, but they were like the Chalupa's from Taco Bell in thickness and taste. I will be making these regularly for friends and family!!! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe, it is simple yet very tasty!!
Made these tonight with my daughter, they weren't brilliant but we did it and they tasted great! I'm definitely going to cook more and hopefully get better at them, thankyou for sharing this recipe 😊
My husband loves this type of bread! We normally only have it in restaurants, so I’m excited to know how to make it for him. How surprised he will be! Thank you for sharing. From a viewer in Maryland USA ❤
Thanks this was just what I was looking for ❤ I was dying for any kind of homemade bread I could make right now and it was delicious with my lentil soup! I've never really rolled dough before so that took me a long time and I couldn't get it as thin as yours. I'll do better next time. Love your video thanks ❤
I’m so happy it turned out well and you enjoyed it! hope you will try my other recipes :) btw. you made me crave a lentil soup, I haven’t eaten it in so long!
Look up no knead bread. It's very easy to make. Flour, water, salt, and a tiny amount of yeast let to set for 12-24 hours will make dough for a good, sandwich capable bread
The lentils might be called dal makhni check my spelling Yellow lentils or even green work. I have abundance of canned collards, foraged onions that taste like garlic, and potatoes. I add a few tablespoons of Tikka from a jar and it's very filling. The only thing missing was the naan bread. Thank you 🎉!
Instead of rolling them out you can use a tortilla press (I made my own) and they come out nice and consistent thickness and almost perfectly round. I use a large plastic bag slit down the sides and the tortilla can be peeled easily on to your hand to place in the pan. Works slick!
I'm making these as we speak and I already tasted one and I'll no doubt be making these a lot from now on. Thank you so much for this recipe. Love to you and everyone 🥰💜
My dad used to make something similar to these when we were young. He called them "fritters, but I think he stopped at the point where each was extremely thin and pan fried them to the same appearance, nicely browned on each side. He's now 96 and doesn't cook anymore since we lost mom at 91, four years ago. I can still almost taste these. Fritters were a "treat" for me because I have allergies and was never able to eat pancakes because of my allergies to eggs (and milk). Think I'm going to have to try making them. BTW, we spread margarine over them and rolled them up after they were fried. Thanks!
@@leonardonetagamer Yes SIR!...lol. I like olive oil, but I fear the experience won't be the same without the flavor of the margarine added. (Margarine doesn't taste as good as it used to either.)
have you tried lactaid ? it’s a milk brand with the enzyme to help the stomach digest the milk. i also discovered when i get the brand clover field, their milk does not activate my lactose intolerance
When you just fried the round it reminded me a bit of when I grew up on a similar bread. We'd just make it like a thick pancake mix and fry it up. Great for "sopping" up gravies( like tomato gravy), or picking up bites of food much like using a piece of tortilla. Heck, I still make it and just use yellow mustard to dip it in sometimes. If you use self rising flour it will make a thicker piece of bread.
Yes!!! I just commented a about this. Our bread was thicker and bigger served with gravy and onions. It was (for us) one of our poor man meals. I loved it as a kid. Haven't had it since I was like 15. This video made me wanna try making it.
Love the straightforward presentation...and the soothing, nostalgic background music that brought back fond memories of a time when things (in my life, at least) were straight-off down-to-earth, just like the breads in this video. Many thanks!🙂
Have you heard or seen ASMR? this video should also be tagged as ASMR, to help grow the channel as well as to help many people relax. This is one of the most relaxing videos I have ever seen. I wanted it to last longer! The bread looks amazing as well! Thank you for this beautiful video! 🥰

I love bread since then in my childhood. I bet I inherited this with my Dad who used to love bread also and could make his lifestyle with only bread ♥️ this is a great opportunity for me I love this and atm doing it exactly. Thanks
Thank you for the video! Is it okay to prepare the dough the night before, store the spirals in the refrigerator, and then do the final rolling out and cooking in the morning?
I have made this. I made some update off course :) I spreaded garlic puree in the surface before first rolling stage. It is barely scented but the recipe overall came out amazing. Crispy and fluffy. Thank you.
I was going to post a comment how delicious fresh pan fried bread is, and it definitely is but then I read the comments from people who didn't have anything else to eat and that's more important of course. So a few additional tips: + You don't *have* to use butter. It adds to the taste and makes it easier to fry but if you haven't got it, just sprinkle some dry flour onto the frying pan to keep the dough from sticking. + White flour is full of calories and also has some proteins but not very much else so so this is not healthy food. It's much better (and tastier) if you can afford some wholeground flour and maybe some rye, barley and/or oats too. + There are a lot of things you can add to the dough to make it tastier and healthier. My favorite used to be bananas. Where I live we can usually buy bananas that are close to their expiration date dirt cheap, cheap than flour even. Mash one up and add to the dough. Scrape off the white from the inside of the banana peel too, no need to let it go to waste. + Apples and potatoes are other ingredients that can sometimes be bought dirt cheap and can be added to the dough. You have to boil them until they are osft of course and keep the skins if possible. There is a traditional Norwegian soft flat bread that is very similar to this except the dough is mostly made from potato with only just enough salt and flout to keep it together and enough water to make the dough soft. There's a lot more we can do to add flavor and nutrion even to food as cheap and simple as this. Maybe others here have some dieas they will share?
It is 6:23 a.m. in the morning I went in there and made me some and I tell you what it ain't bad at all I did not measure I eyeballed everything and it's pretty good thank you and I hope you have a great one💚👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
❤ thank you for this easy stovetop bread recipe... It is great emergency rations in any case, especially considering the harsh weather we've had recently. I always paled at the French laminated dough (croissants and such), but I think I can handle this one! Thank you again and I look forward to more videos! 😊
I really appreciate your videos. I can't wait to try them!! I do have a comment on this. The title can be misleading, for me. Since it takes 4 ingredients to make. Just wanted to let you know, when making future videos. 😊 thank you for teaching us how to make it!
I think butter is more of an option. You could use olive oil or nothing if you don't want to. The butters not needed to make them, it's just to add flavor 🍞.
Thank you. I ended up putting my own spin on it because I apparently can measure and it was runny. So instead of added more flour, I just treated it like pancake mix. I added vanilla, sugar and a dash of baking soda. Tooed it with butter and maple syrup. Thanks for the breakfast idea!
Recipe works very well, depending on what you wish to use the bread for we have been playing with adding herbs and spices to the butter most commonly garlic with parsley. Thanks for the video, take care, God bless one and all.
Gunna surprise my Spanish mom with these and see if maybe I can bring a slice of home to us since we can’t see family too often. Thanks for sharing such a great recipe
I've tried this recipe and it's really delicious. I like to add grated carrot and yellow onion into the dough. When the carrots and onions caramelize, it adds a sweet flavor.

For all us 'uncultured' non-metric users: 😊 WATER: 150 ml = 5.0721 fluid ounces or 0.6340 cups or 0.3170 pints FLOUR: 240 grams = 8.4658 oz. BUTTER: 60 grams = 2.1164 oz. Edit: you'd have to round those off, because ... metric. I use a website called World Wide Metric. Just click on the tab there, that says "Calculator". I can't post the link here; I think YT deletes some posts with links these days. 😡
So much time spent in making flatbread. My mama taught me to make tortilla flatbread minus all of the work and it was delicious. We spread butter on the flatbread after it is cooked.
These are Moroccan pancakes called "M'semen" or "Malwi". Usually used for early breakfast right before sunrise with fermented butter and pure honey. And mostly found in Ramadan's generous family buffet. RIP GRANDMA ♥️🇲🇦
Nice! But how's this different from just rolling it out flat once and frying it in melted butter? This seems a bit tedious especially if you want to make a lot of them.
hi:) trust me it’s quite fast to make them , and if you follow the way I have shown in the video, the bread will have a nice texture and will be “flaky”. if you just roll it out flat, it will be more like a tortilla

It's literally a homemade flour tortilla
Made these tonight with my daughter, they weren't brilliant but we did it and they tasted great! I'm definitely going to cook more and hopefully get better at them, thankyou for sharing this recipe 😊
Easy to follow and the music is such a nice change from all the other “noisy” videos. Love it!!
thank you so much! glad you like it :)
😁
The lentils might be called dal makhni check my spelling
Yellow lentils or even green work. I have abundance of canned collards, foraged onions that taste like garlic, and potatoes. I add a few tablespoons of Tikka from a jar and it's very filling. The only thing missing was the naan bread. Thank you 🎉!
❤
Instead of rolling them out you can use a tortilla press (I made my own) and they come out nice and consistent thickness and almost perfectly round. I use a large plastic bag slit down the sides and the tortilla can be peeled easily on to your hand to place in the pan. Works slick!
I'm making these as we speak and I already tasted one and I'll no doubt be making these a lot from now on. Thank you so much for this recipe. Love to you and everyone 🥰💜
Living in poverty has left a huge effect on me and my 4 siblings, my mom works overtime alot so i had to cook, these are nice and easy to make
My dad used to make something similar to these when we were young. Thanks!
Margarine is horrible for your health, use olive oil instead.
@@leonardonetagamer Yes SIR!...lol. I like olive oil, but I fear the experience won't be the same without the flavor of the margarine added. (Margarine doesn't taste as good as it used to either.)
@@leonardonetagamer kerrygold butter is much better
These are not fritters and have no eggs
have you tried lactaid ? it’s a milk brand with the enzyme to help the stomach digest the milk. i also discovered when i get the brand clover field, their milk does not activate my lactose intolerance
I'm getting southern Ohio or western Kentucky here wit the tomato gravy an all ✌🏼
Love the straightforward presentation...and the soothing, nostalgic background music that brought back fond memories of a time when things (in my life, at least) were straight-off down-to-earth, just like the breads in this video.
Many thanks!🙂
I can't stand the music. Aaaaaaaaagh!!!!!
😁
you are really a lifesaver for this, love you so much and do keep up with recipes that’s low in budget and simple !!!! THANK YOUU!!!
Have you heard or seen ASMR? this video should also be tagged as ASMR, to help grow the channel as well as to help many people relax. This is one of the most relaxing videos I have ever seen. I wanted it to last longer! The bread looks amazing as well! Thank you for this beautiful video! 🥰
Thank you for the recipe. I needed a tasty new bread for Passover/feast of unleavened bread, and this was perfect. Everyone loved them. Super easy and delicious.
🥰 I’m so happy to hear that! thank you for sharing this with me, it made my day!
This is soo good in Morocco we call this mlaoui I never tried this recipe but my family loves it so so much!
On the bright side, everything getting more expensive is forcing us to learn how to be more savy in the kitchen. I have learned how to cook so much from scatch. Thank you for sharing your recipe and god bless everyone, i hope times get easier and if it doesn't i hope everyone is resilient enough to get through hard times ❤️
These look delicious! Probably more time then ide want to spend, unless for a special occasion though. I think you should add butter in the title, as well as salt and flour.
It’s SALT FLOUR AND WATER

II’m just seeing this in 2024. May the Lord continue to bless all that’s able to help others. Much love to all ❤
This helps a lot, for those who are struggling, I realized I didn’t have butter but I did use a light amount of oil and it works great- Also I ate this bread along with some 6$ ramen, stomach is full, thank you so much for the upload
It’s very similar to how 🫓 chapati bread is prepared, use chapati flour and Ghee in place of the butter- my dad was the best chapati maker ever , loved watching this video! Thank you 🙏🏻
First video I've found with metric measurements - makes it easier in the UK, thank you and Shalom, I'll be using this for the festival of Unleavened Bread :)
The recipe is amazing, but let's talk about how peaceful the background music is. I felt so light while listening. Thank you so much for sharing.
The most detailed bread making video. Straight to the point, easy instructions. I havent made this yet but I want to try it on a camp fire when I go camping.
🥰 thank you so much for such a nice comment! I’m sure you will like this bread! have a wonderful day!
Me too..... totally!
I love bread since then in my childhood. I bet I inherited this with my Dad who used to love bread also and could make his lifestyle with only bread ♥️ this is a great opportunity for me I love this and atm doing it exactly. Thanks
Everyone loves bread even if they don’t know it
Thank you for the video!
Thank you.
Love this simple and easy delicious recipe, I will definitely have a go at making these tonight. 💗👍
i never know if only flour +water + salt could be made into something edible ... this is -literally- my life saver ! thank u🙏
Well it can't. You also need butter
Yes this saved me too. Had no bread just flour and butter and this was a great lifesaver for me too.😘😘😘
you wouldn't believe it! I just bought some garlic Roti bread from the store. Now, I going to try this recipe. Thank you for sharing.🇦🇺
When people are in tight spots heroes like you save the day especially when we are bored eating the same food
Thank you 😏😏💞
I was going to post a comment how delicious fresh pan fried bread is, and it definitely is but then I read the comments from people who didn't have anything else to eat and that's more important of course. So a few additional tips:
+ You don't *have* to use butter.
I've made these twice already, and I love them 🫓😋today I made them with a bit of cheese 🧀 and everyone says they're delicious!
Just made these, so delicious! Added little cream cheese on top and so yummy

Can you make some of them at night and leave some of them in the freezer to prepare fresh the next morning for example? That would be really handy
@@FeelingShred you can! We do that acctually
Looks middle Eastern, I'm going to make it. Thank you.😊
Nice recipe, just followed it myself and the bread is honestly so good that I’m thinking about using it for hamburger buns and/or sandwich bread.
Gonna make this tomorrow to go with my lentil and ham soup. Thank you.
Goes great with fried eggs also. Or for vegetarian Tomatoes fried and mashed up with onions salt celery ( bell peppers or black pepper optional)
Yeah i was frustrated at that. I don't have butter.
And I'm vegan, so I don't use butter (or butter subs). Maybe I'll try it with olive oil. 😊
@@jrsygrl72 yeah I'm sure it would taste just as good with olive oil
I think butter is more of an option. You could use olive oil or nothing if you don't want to. The butters not needed to make them, it's just to add flavor 🍞.
@@yvonnecarothers3310 ohh I see. I did not know...
Thank you for sharing. I really appreciate this recipe. God bless y'all.
Thank you. I ended up putting my own spin on it because I apparently can measure and it was runny. So instead of added more flour, I just treated it like pancake mix. I added vanilla, sugar and a dash of baking soda. Tooed it with butter and maple syrup. Thanks for the breakfast idea!
Perfect simple and no fuss flatbread. Thank you from London 🇬🇧
We called it flour bread as an old time southern breakfast. We made it thicker and ate with syrup
I’m going to try that today. I think I’m going to add a tiny bit of baking soda to see if it rises the bread a bit.
Recipe works very well, depending on what you wish to use the bread for we have been playing with adding herbs and spices to the butter most commonly garlic with parsley. Thanks for the video, take care, God bless one and all.
How would they be if in addition to the butter you sprinkled with a little sugar and cinnamon. Might be worth a try.
that’s sounds like they would be delicious! great idea :)
adding the butter kinda makes it click bait. Some people have no butter.
Gunna surprise my Spanish mom with these and see if maybe I can bring a slice of home to us since we can’t see family too often. Thanks for sharing such a great recipe
Just made these with ham sautéed tomato, onion, and spinach. Perfect breakfast burrito👍!!
nice!! 😊
Finally a video title that is faithful to the video. I actually plan to try this recipe out
Wow, this is genius. Where did you learn to roll it out like this out of curiosity?
I've tried this recipe and it's really delicious. I like to add grated carrot and yellow onion into the dough. When the carrots and onions caramelize, it adds a sweet flavor.

For all us 'uncultured' non-metric users: 😊
WATER: 150 ml = 5.0721 fluid ounces
or 0.6340 cups
or 0.3170 pints
FLOUR: 240 grams = 8.4658 oz.
BUTTER: 60 grams = 2.1164 oz.
Edit: you'd have to round those off, because ... metric.
I use a website called World Wide Metric. Just click on the tab
there, that says "Calculator". I can't post the link here; I think YT
deletes some posts with links these days. 😡

These are Moroccan pancakes called "M'semen" or "Malwi". Usually used for early breakfast right before sunrise with fermented butter and pure honey. And mostly found in Ramadan's generous family buffet. RIP GRANDMA ♥️🇲🇦
In Uganda and Kenya we call them chapati, we put stuff in the middle once they’re made and roll them up, so good!!!

They look great for a scrambled egg or (meat, just veggie) lettuce, onion, tomato with a dressing breakfast, brunch or anytime taco.😃

Nice! But how's this different from just rolling it out flat once and frying it in melted butter? This seems a bit tedious especially if you want to make a lot of them.
hi:) trust me it’s quite fast to make them , and if you follow the way I have shown in the video, the bread will have a nice texture and will be “flaky”. if you just roll it out flat, it will be more like a tortilla
butter makes things taste like a cake?

This is similar to making Navajo fry bread and Navajo tortillas. Although, we also add baking powder and fry it in vegetable oil. ❤️
