Sounds like the previous owner might not have used the correct fuel grade, and ran it empty on gas too often making the thicker contaminants going through the injectors and really clogging them up. Always use premium fuel on the LS and make sure to use a fuel system cleaner at least twice a year to ensure proper function.
Try using those CRC QD Electronic Cleaner on the coil pack connection plug, then use a light air compressor to get rid of any dirt. I was dealing with a similar odd misfire issue with my friend's car, installed a new OEM ignition coil with spark plug & the code would still randomly disappear and re-appear. After cleaning the ignition plug, the code hasn't come back for 2 months now even with the colder weather in the NYC area. Also my mechanic told me to avoid using too much fuel injector cleaner too soon/frequently ( I understand why you're doing it) since it can damage some of the fuel lines from his experience. If you're not losing any coolant, your heater exchange/valley plate seals should be fine. I have a 2010 LS460 with 127K miles and the previous owner fixed the valley plate leak at 100K miles before I bought the car. Nice car by the way!
Do you mean the ignition coils? I did that, and so did the dealer. And I replaced all the spark plugs too…changing injectors will require taking off the harness and intake manifold to access the valley of the V8
2:20 these cars do NOT have oil consumption issues. Have you had a test done on your engine? The only ls460’s that suffer from this are any 2008-2009 that had the valve spring recall done that was done incorrectly. It was a VERY TEDIOUS job that if not done right would result in oil consumption later in life. Your year was not affected by this and therefore does not consume oil. The valley plate seal should have been updated from the factory. I have heard of SOME 2013’s still being affected it’s possible that yours may not have been affected.

I had the 1991 LS400, 2001 LS430, and 2013 LS460L. Out of all those models, the 2013 LS460L was the only one that had any issues with burning oil. This is my experience and I also heard that it is common with the LS460s.
There’s a reason Lexus charges a lot. Time is money. The car will be down for a few days while specific injector parts are ordered because it’s not a quick job unfortunately
The Redline Fuel cleaner as far as we know has the highest amount of PEA cleaning agent. The internals must have been clogged.

You should get the Grom vline for the ls!!
Do you know if the entire bumper needs to be changed in order to put that F sport girll ? I would like to change mine
Lucus fix my fuel injector problems on my Lexus GS💯 love that shit

Thank you! I’ll have to try that too since it won’t hurt
Please also just simply try cleaning your Pcv Valve

@@lwazimace2508 Unfortunately the PCV valve for these is under the intake manifold…once that comes off I can access the injectors as well
@@MartyMotoringP.s. This is a really great car
Try liqui moly complete fuel system cleaner. Helps mine.
Wow I was just reading about this product 😂😂😂
Fuck yeah. Amazing content
Hey what’s the carplay called? and how much? I have the same car and looking for car play thanks.
Carpodgo T3, it’s a tablet essentially made for the car and CarPlay. It’s around $350
How much does your exhaust setup change smoothness from stock?
Not much at all, this car has so much restriction in the ways of mufflers and resonators
I really thought you’d cured it, I’d keep persevering with the cleaners.
I hoped so too but let’s see how it goes!
Hey bro try switching injectors to another cylinder to see if it changes. To make sure it's the injector.

@@MartyMotoringThat is what its going to be. Cleaning is just temporary.
@@is4life862 Yes unfortunately. Was really hoping I wouldn’t have to open it up lol

Thanx for this comment. I was kinda worried about when he said that cause I'm in the market of getting me a ls460. I'm looking at a 2017 now
BG44K is the best for Land Rover
I used that one too, just mentioned it in a previous video and not this one 😅 Really thought it’d work
You should cut both mufflers off and weld in a straight pipe
That’s probably what I’ll do! Ran out of time, both mufflers with pipe or “resonator” to pass out state inspection should work nicely
@@MartyMotoring yeah these ls460s sound great with a muffler delete, and it’s still great to daily
I’m confused he said v8 Toyotas have oil consumption issues I’d have never thought that from Toyota though???
Most of them do, my ISF did as well. The seals and gaskets just start to deteriorate after so many miles
@@MartyMotoring ahhh u got me worried I have a gs 450h 11 years old 80k miles 🙈

It probably has never had any type of injector cleaning done at all.
I seem to recall him having used BG on it before…
True. I’m surprised they didn’t do much until now! I have a feeling years of 87 octane and soft driving was the culprit.
@@MartyMotoringexactly. Lexus recommends premium for a reason. Some owners foolishly ignore this.
