I have a 2013 lexus LS460 and I know we all need to save some money, but with all the hard work you’re doing to get to those injectors, I would put nothing but Lexus OEM parts, especially injectors on that vehicle. It’s a very nice car that you have so give it the best and it will outlast and out perform throughout the time that you have it. There are a couple Wholesale warehouse parts stores online that will give you a great deal on OEM parts.
Small tip here. Remove the engine cover, leave it off especially in summer months. The cover is for esthetics and MAYBE some sound deadening only. The engine cover traps engine heat and keeps it right at the top of the motor where all the wiring and plastic engine parts are. Sure you can throw it back on in the winter, it may help the motor warm up a bit faster, but ditch that cover the rest of the year. Keep the top of the motor cooler and extend the life of wiring, wiring wraps, plastic parts. I live in Texas, it’s gets hot as hell here. No issues with pain degradation on the hood, and I can’t tell any difference in engine noise. Lexus tech told me years ago, DITCH THAT COVER!!!
Subscribed. I have a 2017 LS460 RWD with the adaptive cruise option which is a must for me. This car is smooth as butter. Transmission is also phenomenal. Mine only has 30k miles. I plan to keep it and drive it for at least another 120k miles or so. Looking forward to you fixing this issue.
Got a 2013 also. Bought it when it had 45k miles a year ago. Now got 56k but my lower control arms giving me issues 😡🤬. Washington DC potholes doesn’t help.
Good to hear you are planning on getting it back to 100%, I get it when you said you have to wait a long time for OEM parts. I had to get a whole upper oil pan replaced on my IS350 AWD 2011 and waited 4 weeks for it come in. On priority shipping 😢
Love this journey! Hope parts arrive soon. When I saw you bought a Pontiac I started thinking, oh boy more drivetrain repairs. Then you said it’s got the Toyota engine?😮😍 nice find! I bet it runs great. Probs fun to drive too. I need me one of those
LSs are not made for snow and ice and salt. If it snows you keep it in the garage and turn on the heater too. This from a mechanic, owner of Lexus since 1998.
2003 are solid - a different engine without port injection and a timing belt instead of a chain, so it needs to be changed every 100k. Definitely check for lights and codes, and rust
@@MartyMotoring I've nailed it down to two. One is a 07 460L, and the other is an 08 460 without the bells and whistles that I want, lol. 08 is mint but i can't get the Vin to recognize on lexus Canada site 🤔. 07 minor body work that can be fixed and I don’t feel it’s a shady deal
@@Constabruity i would typically agree with you. But not when you're only buying a new vehicle to drive while you're working on another one. Just suck it up and get 12mpg for a month or two and be done with it lol. He works from home anyways.
I made the mistake of selling my Sequoia while choosing to give up the utility for the comfort, performance and economy of my 2011 LS460. I often think I made a mistake.
if a pontiac is a Toyota a Lexus is a chevy so just order chevy parts for cheaper, I can't believe people have been fooled all this time they have been driving Chevys and thinking it was Japanese quality lol
I am so vested in this repair series as I too have a 2013 LS460 as a daily driver. Luckily, I found mine with less than 70k. Loving the content!
Fr. I got one too. But I don't see much ls drivers out here

For sure! Good tip. I always take the engine covers off. My IS350 and ISF never saw them on, and neither will this LS!

Love it! I’m working on my first gen 460 currently. I think I’ll move into a second gen when prices come down. Thanks for the videos!

Fun fact, the Pontiac vibe/Toyota Matrix is called the Toyota Voltz in some markets I was wondering why it looked soo familiar
Much love Marty ❤🔥🔥🔥
I'm looking at a 2003 LS. you have me nervous lol😊 how quick did that light turn on after clearing the light.

@@MartyMotoring What would you recommend for Bluetooth audio on this same thing for your IS?
Wiw, them are quite a bit of miles on it, hopefully it's mostly highway
Such a beautyful car ;)
Why buy another vehicle when you have the sequoia?
12-14mpg will make a man buy new things.

My fiancée daily drives the Sequoia now lol so it’s unavailable 😂 I am out on the road more now too
