Nice! Are you starting to have issues finding parts? I have a 2006 LS 430 that needed a simple part earlier this year and Toyota no longer made it and I had to go after market. I am assuming aftermarket is all that is left for the LS 400 at this point. Curious how that has been for you.
I think just about the entire lineup from around 2016-2017 for Lexus was absolutely perfect. Many dealers will try upgrading you to the newest generation, but they future-proofed and made the design almost timeless and I don't feel absolutely compelled to upgrade to the latest model. They got it right from the very beginning with L-Finesse.
Oof. Not at all. The interiors on all of their sedan lineup from 2016 are ancient looking, especially the yellow tinted metal and the climate control buttons. The newer generations are a massive upgrade, especially in the ES. The interior of the new IS is still nearly identical to 2014, which is shame because the exterior is gorgeous and by far the best exterior of any IS generation.
I own a 2017 LS. It was the last model year for the V8. I'm not overly impressed by the V6, twin turbos or not. Adding a turbo is a second-rate replacement for cubic inches, but I'm sure they were forced to in anticipation of worse EPA restrictions in the future. Even so I know of many owners who can squeeze almost 30 MPG from the V8 on long trips and I seriously doubt the V6 is much of an improvement on MPG. In general a turbo just adds needless complexity and reduces engine durability in the long-term.

It took 6 years since its redesign in 2018, but Lexus has been continuously perfecting the LS into the proper flagship that it should be. The 2024 iteration is the combination of an enhanced suspension, fixed transmission, vibration reduction, better sound insulation, available rear wheel steering, updated infotainment, excellent tech, improved handling. My only complaints are the lack of thematic ambient lighting to add more wow to the interior and that the integration of the touch screen looks like an after thought. I think the 14” available in the RX,NX, RZ would look better. For those comparing the V8 of the 2014 to the V6 in the 2024, I highly encourage you to test drive the 2024. The V6 is just as quiet and refined and it’s very hard to tell the difference.

I'm forever loyal to Lexus, based on my childhood love for the original LS400. What I battle to enjoy, though, is the design of the new LS models...particularly the informal styling. I really don't think a "limo" should have that type of side view.
Thank you Dustin for the great review! Love how you compare the two cars. I have the 2014 model just like yours and love it…I have a lower miles though ( half of yours) 😆 Looking at the new 2024 LS500 now…love the luxury comforts and new technology. Thanks again for putting this video together!
The 2001 -2006 LS 430 is the best ever in my humble opinion. It’s difficult to make comparisons from one generation to the next because of all the tech in these new vehicles that accentuate the overall ambience and driving experience.
Was told to avoid the 07-12 versions. They look nice, but I've heard the horror stories. But I've also heard of others having NO issues with high miles. Everyone takes care of their cars differently, so I MIGHT give it a try. I have a 12k budget so I'll test drive a few
Well for me I would go with a 2014. I have a black 2011 460L, and I absolutely love it it is perfect. So of course a 2014 would be great for me in future. And I do prefer a V8
Hello thanks for sharing I have the 2022 LS500 and I love it I ordered mine it's matador Red with white interior Lexus just make beautiful and gorgeous cars
I have a 2015 460. Just broke 100k. Love it. Ill drive this car for another 10 years. Smooth. Love the V8. I don't care that the new V6 has more horsepower. I can feel the V8 in my ass when I start the 460. I call it THE BIG SLED.
Great Video, Both cars are Beatiful although the interior of the 2024 Model is more Beatiful for me. I recommend getting a proper detail for your personal vehicles interior, to remove the shiny leather and bring back the gloss on the piano black.
It's hard to beat a Lexus V8. I live in Palm Springs, California, where I keep a 2004 SC 430. It has about 63k on the clock and still drives like new when I bought it. Interestingly, there are quite a few mint SC garage queens out here in Rancho Mirage. Anyway, like you, I find that the older Lexus interiors are still quite beautiful. New doesn't always mean better or prettier. However, sometimes I think about purchasing a two or three-year-old LS. I wonder if that would be a wise buy, though. I've heard that after 2025, the LS will be discontinued. I certainly hope not. The RX may be a good choice for me. I love those RXs! But the new RX models have 4 cylinders, and that's not for me. Enjoy your LS! It's classic and will stay that way for a long time.
I could not agree more. My neighbor has an 04’ SC 430 purchased brand new, still rolling. I have an 07’ LS460, 140k miles, impressive ride quality, nothing like the reliability and power of the V8. We live in Palm Springs too, tons of Lexus fans here!
That’s why I’m leaning towards the ES350 ultra luxury trim. Naturally aspirated bulletproof V6. Vs the twin turbo in the LS. Too bad it’s not a naturally aspirated V8. This turbo nonsense does not go well with reliability.
The twin turbo V6 was what pushed me to the 460 with V8. I sat inside a 2018 LS 500 and while it looks more stylish and up to date with all those curves and art, I didn’t feel comfortable with the engine. I ended up with a 2016 LS 460… it does feel dated to an extent
I honestly prefer the exterior styling of the LS460. Sleek but conservative without being over-styled. The newer interior of the LS500 beats the LS460 hands down though!
Rumor has it there will not be a redesign. They will discontinue sadly. Replacing with a merged sedan with old GS dynamics, but current LS luxury.. Not a fan already if I am being honest..
The newer one is ok but I couldn’t sell my 2014 LS AWD L to get one. Found mine in 2018 with 10,074 miles on it, think she’s around 28,000 miles now. I work overseas so she’s asleep waiting for me to get back and retire. Which is what I had planned for when I bought it. To drive in my retirement years, no leaving parked this long. That part bums me out. Probably too light for most as it’s the cashmere gold, parchment leather, bamboo wood, ultra lux version. Everything but the captains chair in the back.
Sir, you are a Sales Manager at Lexus, why would you select and chose an older version over new one besides the risk of losing your job? but this doesnt mean the Lexus hasnt inmproved though.
Surprisingly for Lexus, the 2007-2009 Lexus LS 460 were plagued with mechanical and air suspension problems. Otherwise, great idea to compare two generations of vehicles. Lexus designs their vehicles in a timeless fashion that it's hard to tell which year a particular model belongs to ❤.
If one parks the 2014 S class next to the 2014 LS460, the S will still look current and have more power from its turbo charged V8. I have a S550 2012 it still drives like New and everything works and looks awesome too
When he mentioned that this car replaces the long wheel base version of the ls460, he’s incorrect. As a Lexus LS owner for nearly 15 years the rear space in the ls500 is disappointing. I was horrified to discover that the ls500 had much less rear leg room than the ls600L. When I drove the ls500 I told the salesman about the lack of rear leg room compared to the ls600L, he had absolutely nothing to say, he just stayed quiet. He knew Lexus messed up. Lexus don’t make cars like they used, why would you put big wheels on a luxury car, it just comprises on ride quality. I still have my Lexus ls400 and is definitely more smoother than the ls500. Lexus needs to get their act together.

Looking forward to buying the 2014 ls460 by the of this year, hope and I can find a good deal. If anyone can tell me if 90 to 130k miles is good for a 2014.
The dirtiest thing Lexus did to the LS-series from 2018 and onwards was removal of the Long Wheel Base option as showcased in the video, the Ls460 F sport (basically entry/lowest option Ls-series) has almost the same rear seat space as the new fully loaded executive option LS500 I'd love to see you do a comparison between the same LS500 and 460L executive package 4+1 (Yes, I own a 2013 LWB 4+1 and will never upgrade to newer LS-series) Main thing I hate as a driver is when the floating armrest in the LS500 protrudes away from the door and your left thigh/knee has to bear the awkward position it's in, same with the middle section that protrudes on your right thigh/knee, forcing you to sit in a weird uncomfortable position with both knees sort of inwards CVT is whiny unfit for luxury, was hoping it would be dead silent but the twin-turbo option is a great option over the hybrid (let's be honest, we don't really care about fuel costs in these luxury cars) Main thing I hate as a passenger (whether front/back) is I no longer have the room that is offered in the Long wheel base version of the 460 other than that, the new LS 500 has hundreds of great upgraded features, I recommend it if you're shorter than 175cm/5'9''
From what other people have said, the long wheelbase is standard on the LS 500 and the short wheelbase is discontinued. Well, it’s true if you look only at the exterior dimensions
Which one? The answer is simple: I'll keep my still-excellent daily driver of 26 yrs., a '98 LS400. Very often change is not at all synonymous with improvement. IMHO, the Lexus LS series epitomizes that fact.
So overall this was a good comparison and the LS may not be the exact same there as it is here but with what I’ve seen you’d be hard pressed to find an LS460 without radar cruise control. my car which isn’t particularly high spec has it and it’s not registered as part of a package in my Lexus app which contains the order sheet for my car.. which leads me to believe it was standard on 2013+ models. Furthermore the LS460 did have ambient lights beyond the footwells across the dash there is a softer LED strip that runs next to the driver door and across the dash above the glovebox. Something else I will note though is you are comparing an LS460 F-Sport to an LS500 with the executive package.. while that’s good to show off how much the LS500 has it’s a disservice to the LS460 which came with literally everything mentioned on the LS500s backseat with the exception of the panoramic glass roof. I’d also like to note that you didn’t showcase the sound of the LS460 and if I had to guess it’s because you know the V35A-FTS doesn’t sound as good as the 1UR-FSE. I enjoy these videos but I expect someone who works for Lexus to do a little bit better showcasing one of their products much less a flagship model
I was always a fan of the, 2012-2017, year models based on the performance and, definitely, the appearance. Those were comparable, look-wise, to the James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) “square-edged” 7-series. I am all for modernizing designs on any vehicle but am not a fan of the re-design on the LS. It looks more like an ES these days.
V8 only for me. Creature comforts in the LS 460 are perfectly fine, but a tiny over stressed twin turbo driving experience will never ever match that incredible power curve that a naturally asperated V8 gives the driver.
The 91-2016 ls' don't lose value at all. The 500 is a v6 and it depreciates quick. I bought a 2021 ls500 it was a big mistake, i paid 91k for the f sport and 20k miles later, it was worth $39k; lost 50k in one year.

I do consider myself an enthusiast but even with my personal cars I'm terrible for this lol I'm trying to be better at it though!!
Wow! What an incredible video! You continue outdoing yourself Dustin with stellar content! Keep up the great work!
Thank you for the continued support!!!! I always appreciate these comments!!
The 2001 -2006 LS 430 is the best ever in my humble opinion. It’s difficult to make comparisons from one generation to the next because of all the tech in these new vehicles that accentuate the overall ambience and driving experience.
I have LS 460 f sport 2015 one of best car ever ❤️
Was told to avoid the 07-12 versions. They look nice, but I've heard the horror stories. But I've also heard of others having NO issues with high miles. Everyone takes care of their cars differently, so I MIGHT give it a try. I have a 12k budget so I'll test drive a few
I love the 2024 Lexus LS500! Absolutely beautiful especially the interior!
Great choice on the Red on white! That will look amazing!! Thanks for watching
How much was it?
The relentless pursuit of perfection ended in 2017 in opinion.
The world ended in 2017
People just love to complain 🙄
Owner of a 2013 LS460L and a 2019 Ls500 Fsport, all I will say is this……….Lexus dropped the ball by not offering a V8, at least as an option!
I do love that V8!! Thanks for watching!
I saw the lexus 2014 Ls 460 and like it. Then I buy it and now I'm in love.
Great video! You did a really good job of explaining the differences and similarities in each vehicle.
Thanks so much!!
The thought process of prioritizing reliability in a vehicle like this the LEAST is truly nauseating.
That’s why I’m leaning towards the ES350 ultra luxury trim. Naturally aspirated bulletproof V6. Vs the twin turbo in the LS. Too bad it’s not a naturally aspirated V8. This turbo nonsense does not go well with reliability.
The LS 400 engine was so reliable, it was approved for use in aircraft
The twin turbo V6 was what pushed me to the 460 with V8. I sat inside a 2018 LS 500 and while it looks more stylish and up to date with all those curves and art, I didn’t feel comfortable with the engine. I ended up with a 2016 LS 460… it does feel dated to an extent
I honestly prefer the exterior styling of the LS460. Sleek but conservative without being over-styled. The newer interior of the LS500 beats the LS460 hands down though!
The new LS feels so much smaller on the inside. That’s why I keep hanging on to my LS460
When does the new redesign for the LS come out????
They should wait till Trump becomes President so I can have my v8 back.
I wish I can get that exact LS 460 you have.
I don’t even think the UK got the LS460 in 2014 never mind them selling a LS in 2024
Sir, you are a Sales Manager at Lexus, why would you select and chose an older version over new one besides the risk of losing your job? but this doesnt mean the Lexus hasnt inmproved though.
Which is why the 460 is so often an unwise purchase. Some of the 430 series also had important issues and they were becoming needlessly complex.
If one parks the 2014 S class next to the 2014 LS460, the S will still look current and have more power from its turbo charged V8. I have a S550 2012 it still drives like
New and everything works and looks awesome too

Still driving my 2007 ls 460
Defintely the most reliable luxury car but still a luxury car.... takes money to maintain one. No advisable to use as a daily driver
I prefere the LS460 over this new!! Not only the V8 but the car looks much better for me
Can't wate to get a Low Milage used LS500 a Decade from now for a $ 4 figure Number or low 5 figure number.

to me
The 2014 Lexus LS 460 Sport is truly an exceptional vehicle. After watching the video, I was thoroughly impressed by its performance and luxurious features. It felt like I was personally experiencing the car's capabilities, especially when sitting in the back seat. The video provided a comprehensive comparison, making it one of the best car reviews I have come across.
The 2014 model year of the Lexus LS 460 Sport offers a remarkable driving experience, and I can only imagine that the newer 2024 LS500 would be even more impressive. Lexus has always been known for its attention to detail and commitment to luxury, and this video reaffirmed that reputation. Overall, I believe the 2014 Lexus LS 460 Sport is a remarkable choice for anyone seeking a combination of comfort, performance, and style.
2014 of course!
I feel stuck to my stomach, but it's the same feeling thinking of the TRUE nature of pickup truck offroading culture.
I have a Lexus LS430 2003 v8 I love it rides great but I think it’s time for a new one. I am going to wait for 2025. Let me know if that’s a good choice. Thank you. Great video.
Looking forward to buying the 2014 ls460 by the of this year, hope and I can find a good deal. If anyone can tell me if 90 to 130k miles is good for a 2014.
I'll be buying the 2024 LS 500 in 5 yrs
The dirtiest thing Lexus did to the LS-series from 2018 and onwards was removal of the Long Wheel Base option
as showcased in the video, the Ls460 F sport (basically entry/lowest option Ls-series) has almost the same rear seat space as the new fully loaded executive option LS500
I'd love to see you do a comparison between the same LS500 and 460L executive package 4+1 (Yes, I own a 2013 LWB 4+1 and will never upgrade to newer LS-series)
Main thing I hate as a driver is when the floating armrest in the LS500 protrudes away from the door and your left thigh/knee has to bear the awkward position it's in, same with the middle section that protrudes on your right thigh/knee, forcing you to sit in a weird uncomfortable position with both knees sort of inwards
CVT is whiny unfit for luxury, was hoping it would be dead silent but the twin-turbo option is a great option over the hybrid (let's be honest, we don't really care about fuel costs in these luxury cars)
Main thing I hate as a passenger (whether front/back) is I no longer have the room that is offered in the Long wheel base version of the 460
other than that, the new LS 500 has hundreds of great upgraded features, I recommend it if you're shorter than 175cm/5'9''
Thanks for watching! I'd love to do a comparison with the long wheelbase! I'll have to keep an eye out for a local one that I can borrow!
From what other people have said, the long wheelbase is standard on the LS 500 and the short wheelbase is discontinued. Well, it’s true if you look only at the exterior dimensions
Nice video! Wish my LS460 had the HUD and the twin turbos 😅
Can you imagine the 4.6l V8 with twin turbos? Fun to dream...
I enjoy these videos but I expect someone who works for Lexus to do a little bit better showcasing one of their products much less a flagship model
why not the LX have soft closing doors
how much for the black one
The 2014 has the sound!!!😂
i want to see 2025 ls. who knows ? when official pictures coming out?
2014.
The LS500 will suffer main bearing failures though. The LS500 is longer overall but i think has less rear leg room than the 460L.
Dustin, are you selling your 2014? Great car and not bad for having 87K miles.
I actually want to keep my 2014 forever LOL I don't drive it much but when I do I really appreciate it !!
Hello…when do you think Lexus will release the new generation of LS..? And what kind of engine they are going to use..?
I actually haven't head anything from Lexus about a redesign for the LS yet! I hope they keep the same engine!
V8 only for me. Creature comforts in the LS 460 are perfectly fine, but a tiny over stressed twin turbo driving experience will never ever match that incredible power curve that a naturally asperated V8 gives the driver.
Dustin the goat
HAHA MY man!!! Thank you :D
Why after 10 years the car look the same look like the bowl backward
Bro can't even put a sentence together but has to critique everything 🙄
I just realised the ls460 rim here looks like the 2024 lc rim 😮
I could totally see that! I actually have a set of 2022 LC rims that I use for summer driving on my 460!
2:38 LOL He Said "LX500" LOL
Have a 2022 lS500 in atomic silver. Love it except for that funky looking gear shift!!!!!
I wish Lexus would understand this not a coupe this a full size sedan This an is LS FULL SIZE.
I miss my 2014 LS460 F Sport in Super White. Regret getting rid of it!
Why did you get rid of it?
@@easy3easy1 I don't really know. It was a gas guzzler and I wanted to get back to something efficient. Should have kept it.
Why is everything so Tacky on 2024?
Crazy that my es350 is 10 years old already 😭
And probably the best of the brand.
The 2024 LS looks like a 2014 model. Ever since 2005 all Lexus vehicles have been 10yrs behind in look of the exterior and the interior. 🤔
What is that clicking sound?
The 91-2016 ls' don't lose value at all. The 500 is a v6 and it depreciates quick. I bought a 2021 ls500 it was a big mistake, i paid 91k for the f sport and 20k miles later, it was worth $39k; lost 50k in one year.
LS500 is much better inside-out but is lacking the V8
I test drove the new LS 500 But I prefer my 2012 LS 460 with my V8
@diedreholley2959 would you mind elaborating on why you prefer your old one?
Ok... srry to be that guy but why does my 2010 doors close quieter than this 2024...?
As soon as you started the car the rear passenger gained atleast 3 inches of leg room
hi this the r unit :222 i have 4 diff Lexus lucky me lol lol i have the (LS460L) BLACK ON BLACK I LOVE !!!! MY OTHERS ARE MY GS430 2002 .MY RX350 AKA SNOWBOUND..AND MY LC500 COUPE AKA CUZ!!! I LIKE YOUR VIDEO THE R STANDS FOR RICHIE IF U SEE ME SAY HI
I luv e’m both bro …its just to have e’m in my drive way thats all am thinking of 😂
Yes do it!!!!
