If you need to actually see someone do something, just to prove to you that someone who is black, white, one-legged, etc. can do it, then... wth is wrong with you? You doubted it? You thought at some point that it was not possible or needed to be proven? Why? This current trend of focusing on race is disturbing. It is backwards and simple minded.

But in some cases e.g. black kids, girls, were actively steered away from certain things by teachers and parents, because they thought it was not possible, or too difficult for them, etc.

John Leguizamo played one of my favorite characters of all time. It was enlightening to see him being himself, so we could learn more about who he is as a real person. As it turns out, he is more like the character he played than I would have imagined.

I know others may believe there are some pundits who deserve a shot at becoming the new host, but I honestly feel John Leguizamo would be such an amazing fit. He's so engaging, naturally funny, he's approachable and knowledgeable on every topic. He's such a well rounded guy, I've been a huge fan of his since I was little. If not a daily show regular host, at least this week of hosting should prove he's worthy of his own show

As an Indigenous person I would have had to correct John because the terms Hispanic and Latino are to erase our Indignity. We were forcefully assimilated and this was one way of how we Indigenous people were forcibly assimilated. Why does her Brooklyn accent go away? No one I've known or met from NYC they never lost their accent.
I wonder if this could be the new format? Instead of a one week residency. How about 1 month to 3 month residency? Get a lot of diverse guests and outlook.
This is great, but I would like to see women over 30 being celebrated in the same way. America has this weird obsession with youth, especially women. I’m amazed when I see a 40 year old find success.
