Literally the biggest pop hits in history had samples: Crazy In Love, Toxic, Beat It, Thriller, Blinding Lights and more
And if we talk about hip-hop and rap, the use of samples is even bigger, there you have Jay Z, Nicki Minaj and even Kanye West.

This is lukewarm pop at best. Shes beautiful and sweet but this recycled formula has been done a thousand times. She isn't unique but she's a nice young lady.
A girl who had a dream of becoming a pop singer and achieved it after working her a** off and more importat believing in herself throughout the entire process. She well-deserved all the awards she has gotten so far and the respect of music fans all over the place

I'm 59 and I've never heard her music before but it sounds really great and like good old pop from the 80's or 90's. Love it.

Regarding her mention facing push-back as a female artist. Anybody who thinks even for a second that her voice is "processed" and "can't really sing" is incredibly delusional. As I've gotten older (50+) I don't care for the 'show' (an artist's image and gimmicks) anymore. It takes REAL musical talent to get me to want to listen and listen more. I had never even heard her music before a few months ago. But man can this woman SING. Incredible talent. She's where she belongs right now and her talent is what got her there.

I am a hard-core "Blink" or Blackpink fan. Blackpink being the most successful girl-group of all time. When they did a collab with Dua Lipa and when Dua Lipa unexpectedly showed up at their New York concert I was surprised and pleased. That's how I learned about Dua Lipa who I didn't know before. Her Future Nostalgia album was a ray of light through the times of the pandemic and lockdowns and even it's "just" dance-pop it inspired a lot of musicans (Every bass player loves "Don't start now") . Much love and respect!

Her story is so inspirational, that you can have a dream and make it happen. And I'm glad she spoke out about what's going on in Gaza. What Israel is doing is atrocious. Palestinians have had their land taken from them and they're forced to live in an open-air prison. Now, they're dodging bombs every day. We shouldn't just think, oh well, it's not happening to me, so why do I care? As Martin Luther King Jr said, injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

I remember first hearing her on radio 1 back in 2014 and they said she's tipped to be "the British rhianna" and I was like ok let's have a listen, they played last dance and I was hooked. Not very often you hear a song for the first time and love it. Pretty much every song she's released is an absolute tune!!! Plus she's fit af so that's a bonus too

The history of her country is very similar. Serbia and Albania both claim ownership of Kosovo and that war was as vicious and brutal as the war in Gaza. As a Kosovar-Albanian (born in UK) her insights into a war of disputed territory would have more worth than many politicians.
