"Prepare to be congratulated..." Dude this was such a blast!! I can see why you spent so much time on this labor of love. AND WOW what a tease about Zelda 1!!! Looking forward to it
Seeing this video pop up was such an unexpected treat; it was a ton of fun to watch! I can vividly remember the first time I saw that incredible commercial on TV and it truly did blow my mind. I think Super Smash Bros must have been the very first game I had ever gotten on launch day. Back then I must have immediately understood that it would be a life-changing game. My parents didn't put up any resistance either, so it made it feel like all of the stars had aligned, haha. But man, it really was like a dream come true. Having Mario, Link and Pikachu all in one game was enough to make my heart explode from the sheer hype of it all. I didn't even know who characters like Ness and Captain Falcon were back then, but it was still super interesting that they were there. And funnily enough, Falcon in particular would go on to become my favorite character across all of Smash in spite of my limited experience with F-Zero. I have endless respect and admiration for this first installment of this legendary series. Also I have to say that I'm excited for the episode covering Zelda 1 too! I randomly felt the urge to play through it a week or so ago, so seeing that it will be covered soon is just perfect.
i remember playing this for the first time at a family gathering during easter and having an absolute blast battling all my cousins. it felt like there was nothing else quite like it at the time. such a superb game! and everyone thought ness was such a hard character to control but you were unbeatable if you knew how.
That’s an amazing memory! I also remember playing it all day at a family friend’s around a holiday. They had a younger kid that I wanted to ignore whenever he said he was getting bored of smash 😂 Ness is a really cool character, his up B recovery is very creative… love how powerful it is when you hit yourself too!
In the late 90s I played Super Smash Bros at my cousins and loved it. I was a Sega kid who was only gaming for a few years so I knew little of these guys, but loved it. I used Pikachu as he was closest to Sonichu, I mean, Cuz I liked Pokemon, Yes, that's it. We joked of pausing the game and turning the camera for The Matrix or Pikachu with a Gun and I wound up getting an N64 in Xmas 99. Manly for Pokemon Stadium and this. I later got a GameCube for Melee and still play it. Good times as a 90s kid.
What an honor to have you here! Thank you. Coach Garcia! I’ll never forget all those good times playing multiple entries of smash bros together many years ago in the basement with the guys… only broken up by tuns to Taco Bell and Wendy’s! Keep up that outstanding strength, you’re an inspiration brother!
Gotta admit, I’ve never been much of a smash guy 😅 But I’m aware that it’s most likely because I’m so bad at it lol I find the more I actually try to understand the move sets and implement them correctly, the worse I do. But when I just mash I tend to do much better, so I kind of wrote it off pretty quickly and stuck with more traditional fighters. These days tho, I pretty much stink at every fighting game, so I guess I might as well give smash bros another chance one of these days 🤷🏻♂️ Either way, another awesome overview Jeff! despite me not being the biggest fan, smash can only be considered an all time classic and you did it justice here 😎 👍 Also, stoked to see you’ll be taking on og LoZ next! Like many, I have a ton of history and nostalgia with that game 😃
SSB was a rare example where I got a game without it being a birthday or holiday. I saw the commercial, asked for it, and my dad went out and got it. And I fucking loved it.
Great video!! I know this is a Super Smash Bros. video review video but I am here to thank you for the advice in your GoldenEye 007 advice for RareWare's N64 classic! Because of your awesome advice, I was able to beat Bunker 2 on 00Agent again after many years, Control 00Agent after many years and first try too plus Caverns Target Time after many years of 'not' playing something like 20years later, thanks to your awesome advice in your GoldenEye 007 hardest missions and hardest Target Times videos:) Super Smash Bros. Reviewing and beating it is another great video! I grew up playing N64 Smash Bros. Love this game too!! Great videos and channel, keep up the awesome work!! Thanks to your GoldenEye 007 videos, I ended up trying Aztec 00Agent again which in the past many years ago, I could never beat it. Thanks to some research, I beat Aztec 00Agent with a glitch, 'Stuck MainFrame'. Cheap to beat it this way but, I don't have the skill to beat it w/out any glitches and it's still tough as nails to beat on 00Agent skipping Jaws and half the 00Agent stage, so tough. I beat the game 100% for the first time ever several months ago:) Again, your advice on Bunker 2, Control and Caverns all on 00Agent really made it possible for me to achieve these feats again, thank you so much:) Pikachu is my best fighter on N64 Smash! Great game too! Unpopular opinion but N64 and Melee Smash's are both my equally fave games in the series and than Brawl is my 3rd fave game in the series. After Brawl, the rest are average in my opinion for the series. I hate the random tripping in Brawl, I also hate DLC and amiibo which is why I don't like the later games that much!
I edited out "Thanks man!" As this was inappropriate of me to include. Sorry about this, I have Autism and didn't know what "Thanks man!" means so researched it and apparaently 'only close friends say it to each other, so I was inappropriate. Sorry about this!
Hey Stephen! Thank you very much for the kind words and thorough comments! By the way, you can call me “man”, “bro”, “friend” etc, I appreciate you commenting and leading with so much friendliness. I’m really glad to hear those Top 10 videos helped you get through those tougher 00 Agent Goldeneye videos! Nice job, way to stick with it and finish the hardest levels. N64 smash and Melee are two great games, I think a lot of people agree that melee is their favorite, and a lot of people agree that the random tripping in brawl is super annoying too. Comments like yours are great motivation to keep trying to put out the best videos I can, I love to know that you’ve enjoyed them and that they helped you! I look forward to seeing what you think of other videos when you have time to watch them, and I’ll see you for the next video(s) 💙
@@MarMaxGaming thanks heaps!!💙 You are very welcome for my friendly communication, great work with the videos!! Your GoldenEye videos gave me SO MUCH vital info I either never knew or forgot 20years ago! I was fearful that I couldn't beat Bunker 2, Control or Cavern's Target Time on 00Agent for those 3 missions again from 20years ago but thanks to key info in your vids, I was able too do it again:) thanks heaps:) I beat Control 00Agent first try this playthrough:) I assumed I'd struggle much harder because in practice w/cheats in use, Natalya kept dying in open room when activating security to disable GoldenEye satelite, (I never understood the story to be honest, just a legendary game). But, first try w/out cheats, Natalya survived and I grabbed the body armour near the very end, that your video taught me about that was incredibly key because I 100% would have died without watching your videos, I cannot say with enough expression/meaning, your videos helped me beat those incredibly tough missions again, there's a really strong possibility, I would have given up unsuccessful w/out your videos, thanks SO MUCH:) Don't know if it interests you or not, there's a website called, 'The Elite.net' it has competition for one player N64 version only for GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark N64 world rankings. I am ranked quite low but still have world rankings and your videos helped me improve my world rankings:) A few days ago, I was ranked around #467 in the world GoldenEye 007 and ranked#337 in the world for Perfect Dark both N64 versions for one player missions in Time category:) it's a cool website and competition to check out if you're interested! I am ranked #185 in the world for all my times combined between GoldenEye and Perfect Dark on this website 'The Elite.net' a few days ago, need to check if I've lost some world rankings or not in the last few days. Objectively, Melee is much better than N64 Smash but I enjoy them equally:) You are a very talented videogamer yourself to beat GoldenEye 007 100% and to beat Aztec on 00Agent w/out glitches is nuts, you're a truly gifted gamer mate!!💙
Believe it or not, I never played the original Smash Bros. even though I have an N64. I guess cause around the time this came out I was still playing Goldeneye a lot, on top of playing Ocarina of Time and RE2 just as much. But that would all change in Nov 2001 when I bought the Gamecube and my first games were Waverace Blue Storm and Super Smash Bros Melee. Dumped many an hour into Melee, esp. playing my friend Tye in Vs. Our goto match was usually Capt. Falcon(me) and Ganondorf(Tye) at Castle Hyrule. Great times. Thanks for the nostalgia bomb, Jeff, and great vid as per usual. P.S. of the Smash Bros roster I'd like to see Link's game covered OoT. I know it's been covered to death elsewhere, but I'd like to hear your take. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🎮🔥
It’s a very popular series and it’s super cool to play the original! It’ll play slower / clunkier than the newest ones but you can be an absolute machine once you get the hang of it!
yeah lol i've played it before but im mainly used to ultimate so when i do save up for a copy it will be a brand new learning curve for me. i own ultimate, 3ds, and brawl rn. i wanna get all of them one day@@MarMaxGaming
what a game! this is a great reminder that the world needs more local multiplayer smash bros 64 action!
Great video.
I appreciate the gold console with all different color controllers 👍🏼

Wasn’t Sonichu made in 2000?
Never played this when it came out and it's too late to get into it, but now I get why so many people love this title so much.
It’s never too late ❤ thanks for watching dude!
definitely not too late
