In the NTSC-J Version, Kirby was a little larger, its Up Air deals more damage than the other versions (12% Clean hit / 10% mid hitbox) and had a slightly larger hitbox.
another thing is that j and ntsc have the same ecb size so landing on stuff doesn't have a huge effect on both of those version, but another thing is the reduce hitlag which makes a huge difference in some characters in bonus stages
Other Notable changes on Kirby are his Up and down smash dealing more damage (18%(up) / 20%(down)) and have more knockback (24 (Up smash / 40 (Down smash). Also Forward Throw sends in a Horizontal angle but it has less knockback (80 on NTSC-J / 100 on International versions), And Stone deals more damage (22%) and has increased knockback scaling (78).
Fun fact: Originally intended to be a Japan exclusive game, the original Super Smash Bros. sold so many copies so quickly in Japan alone, it wasn't long before it was announced to be released worldwide. The rest is history.
@@CaptainYellow2085 kirby was and is one of the worst characters in melee--not as bad as bowser, and has one or two good moves (that back air), but definitely ain't good
"Break the targets!"
Kirby: *"I'd rather die."*
"Failure."
scoreboard: BRUH KIRBY WHY DID YOU DIE?
Kirby living up to his rep as a planet destroying mindless killing machine

Context!!

That's wild.

1:18 now that's efficiency
1:45 with how quick this was, the music sounds more like a jingle
Underrated statement.
>Japanese version
>Realistic punching and kicking sounds
>Game is suddenly faster
What the holy hell Samus!!! And that Yoshi massacre was top notch!! Man this TAS just delivers!!! Thanks!!!
The "failed" quite terrified me as a kid
hearing the japanese version for the first time after 23 years and never knew it sounded so different.

I can't imagine how Nintendo would think only Japan would have an interest in all of their stars together in one big mashup 4 player game.

-99 for Cheap Play lol
I only have 3 words for this TAS "A New Record!!!!"
Why looks fake? Giant DK died without touch him.
1:50 absolutely destroyed that Pikachu
2:28 Kirby: What kind of sick joke is this?
It’s been a while since I’ve seen a N64 TAS
I love playarounds of this game, but its great to finally see an awesome speed focused TAS.
Wait
Has the original Smash always used that comical punching sound effect on hits?
Just the Japanese version
Also the beam sword in the Japanese version sounds a bit too much like a lightsaber lol
@@mrgameandmusic forgot about that one, but I'd believe it
So glad this isn't the sound design in the American release of the game.
I was thinking exactly the opposite
These sounds are pretty awful in comparison 😅
The final destination in 64 looks so pretty, i wish the next smash game brings it back along with all of the previous final destinations
4:54 matches with the music
it kinda does yeah, eighth notes
"Charles Martinee"
That's Charles Martinet. I believe they spelled it wrong ❌
XD
Race to the finish sounded like. "Hurry the hell..." Up? I'm guessing is the end of that sentence
It's somewhat refreshing to know that child me was right when I thought Kirby was a little OP.
Tas smash remix pls
man, kirby in the 64 was amazing, his kit was broken
I think you meant 「ニンテンドウオールスター!大乱闘スマッシュブラザーズ」.
The realistic punching sounds lol
idk why the announcer says gay sex but im here for it
All will come to fear the Shurikirb.
Smash TAS' ftw! Although, why the reupload?

Classic 64 dairanto smash is the tits. Subspace Emissary was peak smash gameplay, none of that evo bait "for glory" crap.
420th like
This run is the reason why most Smash communities banned Kirby during competitions 🤣🤣🤣
Lmao, Kirby was a problem that's for sure. I mained Kirby for years in Melee to much success. My friends used to get aaaaaangry at me.
Kirby isn't banned
Kirby has never been banned lmao
He isn't even the best character in this game, he's still behind Pikachu lol
