Thank you so very much! This video has blessed me beyond measure. I actually paid someone to put up blinds in my garage (3 windows) plus other things around the house. Stupid enough to pay in advance now it’s like pulling teeth to get her to come back and finish what she started. I was tired of waiting and decided to try it on my own. Your video was the most thorough for someone like me who at 63 can barely use a drill. From your detailed breakdown of everything in the box, to showing exactly how to mount the brackets was 💯 on point. The tape on the bracket does help, btw. I was having a problem getting the screw into the wood but after you did a closeup of the bracket I saw that I had the screws too close to the edge of the bracket. Once I moved it, it drilled in flawlessly. Saved me so much time trying to use a screw driver to get it in by hand. Your explanation of how to use the needle nose pliers was just perfect. Had them and never knew what they were. After, the blind snapped right in place. I’m just so very thankful to you that you bothered to do this video. And don’t worry, if she ever decides to come back on my dime, I have other work for her to do. THANK YOU!!!
I consider myself pretty handy but these blinds almost destroyed my spirit. I was about to burn these blinds in a blaze of glory (and rage) when I saw your video with the INVALUABLE tip: bend the top part of the bracket so it has clearance. So simple. I cannot thank you enough!

Watching this video saved me a lot of grief. I bought Hampton Bay blinds, followed the instructions and thought every thing was OK. Unfortunately, the blinds would not "seat" correctly in the brackets causing the blinds to fall out of the brackets when I pulled down on the blinds. The answer was right here in this video. The part where Ken mentioned pulling down on the bracket tab with a needle nose pliers was EXACTLY what I needed to do. One I did so, wham-o! The blinds seated perfectly and no longer fall out of the brackets. Thanks so much, Ken.

Thank you. I got a pair of these today from somebody who didn't want them anymore. Plan to install them on my outdoor swing. Couldn't figure out how to get the stupid things to lower since they had no lowering cord. Now I know. Thanks much.
Yup thanks!! I was so proud I got my blinds up today, but noticed the front wasn't hooking on... demoralizing! thought it was me... almost moved the brackets out.... BUT your 'tip' to use the needlenose pliars to bend that bit down a bit -- might save my sanity! I'll try in the morning and let you know! thanks!
Ken, do the directions explain a way to remove uneeded slats. My window height is about 52" and the default size height is 64". I feel I could remove about 6 or 7 slats and just leave 3 or 4 extras accumulating at the bottom when the blinds are completly pulled down.
Always a huge thank you to you that take the time to put out helpful videos, so thank you. One thing that I would add is when you are measuring out the brackets, take in mind where the gears are for the blinds. You don't want to try to snap on the blinds to a bracket that is smack in the way of a gear, it won't work well. So just off set it a bit and you'll be fine.
Hi Ken I was changing my Hamilton bay 1 in blind and the new type are very hard to install I had the older ones and they were very easy to installed I only bought it because I like the aluminum ones and the wooden blind doesn't't fit my window but I accidentally put the blind back to front and it was very hard to come off I was looking on your channel how to take it back off and I tried the screw driver and it worked So I was happy 😂 Thanks for your video

Ken, do you know how to reset a vinyl blind that will not go up anymore? I have searched on the internet and all the recommendations provided didn't work. I have had the blinds for 3 years. I use them on a daily basis, multiple times, so maybe it is time to replace. Please advise.
Ken, thank you for the quick reply. I did some more research and I have one more thing to try. If that doesn't work, then I'll go and purchase a new blind. Sigh.... trying not to put so much trash in our landfills. Thank you!
Thank you! It must be Harbor brand, because I couldn’t figure out when I hung them and pulled down, they fell on me! I had to use pliers and pull that top bracket WAY out. Great video!
The only thing I needed was the positioning of the Brackets and was getting frustrated and Everytime you showed the bracket it was either too fast a shot or too far away ! But Eventually I got it right ! Thanks this was still better than the Instructions ! Hampton Bays Bracket positioning being Drawn on paper Was Horrendously Poor !
Installation is done, but these brand new blinds will not raise. Pulled them all the way out, brought them out to 45 degree angle, and gave them the snap everyone suggests: nothing. Went and got another blind returning the first. Same thing. Clearly user error, but makes me long for the old cords to raise and lower blinds!

Please explain more as to how you snap the blind into the brackes
not much to it, just don't force to the point you are bending the metal.

I don't know if you can reset these blinds. Vinyl blinds are inexpensive, I would just go and buy new a new one and problem solved.

mine is drywall BUT just under that 1/2 inch drywall is wood. Just make sure your screw is long enough and you are good.

I am not sure this is user error. It is puzzeling? Can you bring to store and show the blind person the issue?
