At my first store there were two people that should have been fired on their first week. One was a guy who kept on doing things when he was told several times to stop by management, such as spitting on the backroom floor. He destroyed another store's order because would unsafely stop the pallet jack by turning the handle instead of dropping it. He was finally fired from the store that he transferred to after our store closed. The 2nd person was this woman who blatantly lazy. She was the store operator and all she had to do was transfer calls, but that was clearly too much work for her. I asked her to page my manager once, all she did was hold her head in her hands and said "Oh, I think she's in the office".

This is for anyone in their first few jobs. If someone walks up to you and claims to be VP or any other higher up and is trying to fire you, be respectful, but talk to your supervisor. Most lower tier workers know who the VP is or what they look like. This is a scummy "prank" to pull on people.

In my Walmart there are there’s a kid in the back and you smoke so much weed that he stinks up the entire back of the store and he talk on his phone all day. They have yet to fire this asshole. It is so terrible and it’s just totally ignored, it is disgusting and repugnant and repulsive. It’s so bad I won’t even shop at the store when I think he might be working. I’ve actually started going to Target because of the situation.

No way would a VP wear a suit that cheap. Also, you NEVER fire someone without a witness. Plus, what the “vp” is doing could be considered a crime because he’s trespassing and trying to pass himself off as an employee. This is dangerous territory and he should be VERY careful
First, a VP wouldn't be doing the firing. It's not their responsibility. Secondly, they would never do it on the floor. They'd ask to talk to him in the office. Nothing about this is appropriate, and Walmart should have never allowed them to film it.

Here's what needs to happen: the employee should bring his manager into the conversation. The manager will then find out if the so-called VP of operations is legitimate. If he is not, the police should be called so that he can be legally trespassed and kicked off the property. This should happen at every store he visits and does this.

Before I started at Wally World, I always do my research what to expect the expected. Sure people do come to “prank” or giving us bad mojo vibes, I’ll just push it off. If they continue to harass me while I’m working, I’ll inform my management team. They can either talk some since to people or have authorities handle them. Cause we don’t have much time to play around when hooligans come in or people whine why certain things not on the shelf.

If it was me, and they asked me that I would actually rat the guy out to my boss, at least that way, they know what was happening, and they would kick the guy out of the store. If this isn't staged; then I feel sorry for the young man. I've had a few encounters with people claiming to be from corporate/home office. What angered me was when we would get visitors in from the Corporate HQ and would use the "well, I'm Corporate" line and use it like a power tripping Federal Agent flashing his badge. I would be passive about it because I was a High School student and needed the job, but it really angered me and I wanted to say "am I supposed to be impressed🤨?"

I work for Walmart, and this is not how termination works. This is grossly inappropriate. If this wasn't fake, I would be getting pissed.

I think it's funny that this happened to this employee because he was "slacking off." Why in the world would Walmart think that it's creating a good enough work environment for people to not be doing stuff like this? Walmart is a joke.

Well first of all, I’ve NEVER seen any executive with Walmart wear a suit in a store. You used to see Sam Walton do it, sometimes during a special event, but never visiting a store. I wouldn’t believe it until I talked with mgmt. I know at the store and would respectfully ask this gentleman to accompany back there to confer his identity.
Sam wouldn't wear suits when he visited his stores. He would walk up to an employee in plain clothes and ask where something is. The number one rule is don't point, you walk the customer to the item.
The Walmart I worked at treated their employees like crap. I lived in Iowa at the time and my sons were both toddlers. The weather was horrible and it was my day off. The manager called me and told me i needed to come in to work. After explaining to the manager that I had no babysitter and it was short notice i wouldn't be able to come in. Again he argued with me and then I said fine I can come in but my boys will have to come in with me. He got mad about it and told me to forget about it since I would have to have my kids with me. I got so i dreaded working there. I finally quit on Valentine's day. I gave them my badge and told them i was done. I also told them before I left that if they treated their employees better then maybe they wouldn't lose so many employees.

I work at a Walmart. This isn't the right way to handle it. They should have taken him to the back and discuss this with him. HR should have done this
