The chef doing his best with low wage, no OT, no equipment is absolutely insane. He has such a good attitude. I have a feeling they didn't pay for the equipment because they're shutting down the location and the guy finally left by the time the "meet" happened. So that's really all they could do for him. At that point with the level of disrepair there's no way they could upgrade everything and it's up to the franchise owner to pay for those upgrades, not the GM. If they confront the FO and he bails on it, they can't do anything. Same with a raise. So the owner is kind of tied.
