I’m making some changes that people won’t like.

- I love off roading, and used to really love doing snow recovery out in the mountains. But that has changed over time and last winter I found myself dreading going out on every job. Between the demands from customers who knew that I helped people for free and that that meant I was OBLIGATED to help them out as well, and the demands from viewers of the channel for more track content because that’s the only reason they watch, I found myself really resenting the snow recovery and wanting nothing to do with it.
Because the simple fact is that the tracks are a pain in the ass and are NOT fun. Sure they look cool and all, but they are rough, loud, slow, expansive to maintain, and absolutely destroy the vehicle you bolt them to. On top of that, I have no actual need for tracks to do the recovery jobs I do. I was only running them because I thought they did good on TH-cam.
I built the snow recovery up into something that was a such a hassle to do, and so much more work than necessary, that I was just completely over it and turned down pretty much every off road call I got this winter. So I’m making some changes and going back to how I did it when it was fun and something I actually enjoyed doing it. If people like that, good! If people don’t like that, well that’s good to. I’m going to do what works for me and that’s all I’m going to worry about.

The tracked Jeep brought me to the page. Your honesty, and generosity kept me here..
What he said
Yes, me too but more than that, Casey does good deeds for needy people. The homeless veteran, the free tow job now and then, the Christmas presents for the poor kids, all that stuff. Good dude deserves support which is why I do a small donation each month on his Patreon.
@@EnufIsTooMuch
Us too!!!
Same here, just before the track jeep going through snow deep enough to try and derail the tracks and warrant those scraper angle iron attachments Casey made is when I subscribed.
Absolutely...Hit the nail on the head
I miss the old Casey content. Just you, the recoveries, and the meaningful banter. Thank you for doing this video just like it used to be.
I like seeing how you make the recovery with what I would potentially have in my garage and driveway. As my brother always said “You aren’t stuck until you have to call for help”. Watching the simple stuff helps people like me know when I might be inconvenienced by my road chose and when I should pack it in and call for help.
Casey has been doing this 'Old Casey content'. What's your problem?
Casey, you have discovered a 'secret' in life - when you lose the joy of a job, your whole being changes and it can/does impact other areas of your life negatively. Good on you for being able to show & tell all of us this, and I am one subscriber who will be going no where. Keep up the great work!
Tracks are really, really cool. But if they're too big of a pain in the ass to use, then selling them is 100% the correct choice. Plenty of other folks to watch drive tracked vehicles, and your stuff is well worth watching as it is.
As a carpenter/contractor, i have found that what most people find "sexy" about my jobs are the worst parts. I started following you because you're a genuine, honest guy who is trying to do right by his family and customers. I enjoy your reasoning and explinations. Do what makes sense for you, those of us that are here because of you will still be here.
_Those that matter don't mind - those that mind don't matter._
AMEN!!
Sexy?? I wasn’t aware people were sexually attracted to such things 🤷♂️🤔🤣
The reason people come to these channels , is because the content is real and honest, the reason successful channels stay successful , is because the stay …..real and honest.
The success doesn’t change , those who are grounded and stay true.

Haven't even watched the video yet, but in case I can't find that comment any more later: the first video I watched on this channel was the U-Haul truck that was stranded because of a loose oil filter - when Casey said something along the lines of "I'm not going to tow this vehicle halfway across the state, I'll just screw the filter on and go buy a few quarts of oil - because _I don't like to screw my customers over"_ was when I subscribed, because I liked that attitude.
Casey, you do what works for you - I watch you because I like you as a person.
Casey, don't worry about us viewers. I for one and I think I speak for many others, we'll still be watching whatever you're doing. Thanks for the video.
If you are doing a recovery in The Good ol’ Silver Dodge, Willys Jeep, Jeep CJ, Jeep Cherokee, the Blazer beast, the Rollback, or the ZackLift, or you are doing a maintenance day, a community service event, a landscaping day, a welding day, or just getting ice cream with your daughter…. WE WILL WATCH AND SUPPORT YOU!!!!
What he said
Yes we do. I check every day to see if you have a new video.
Thanks you that as well said and I agree with every word
Agree 100%!
Mixer Roadtrip drew me in.
"I Hate Casey Ladelle" merch keeps me around.
I knew Bruce cook had alternate accounts so he could learn from Casey’s video discreetly
Ah, we don't need any gimmicks. What I like about this channel is that it's always something different...it's real, and it's always interesting, and you seem like a really nice guy. Just keep doing what you're doing, and there will always be many of us who enjoy watching.
I think the tracked Jeep thumbnail drew me to your channel. The honesty and groundedness and explanation of the process kept me watching. None of that hype nonsense, I like watching professionals at work.
My Dad always told me, "If it ain't fun, you ain't doing it right ". Good on you for doing it right.
AMEN!! I say if your having fun you will NEVER work a day in your life!!!
You do what works for you, and I'll do the same....and what works for me is seeing a happy Casey do fun things 🙂
Casey, what I enjoy about your content is that you explain what your thought process is, how the equipment you have works, and most importantly, that you enjoy doing it. It’s no fun to watch someone who doesn’t enjoy what they’re doing. Do what you enjoy, and thanks for taking me along for the ride!
Simple camera format, straightforward jobs, no generic "TH-cam" drama or clickbait. Glad to hear you're returning to what made your channel great in the first place - just being Casey...
Casey....if you can not have fun and do what you love, then why do it??? You do you and we will watch!!
Did anyone notice the accuracy of Casey backing up and making the turn One Handed? He was holding the camera the entire time!! Not boring !!keep the video coming!!!
Yes, I thought that also 👍
Same! Pro level.
. . and using the slope to make sure he didn't get stuck.
Impressive that you were able to differentiate between 'best for the channel' and 'best for you and your company' and make the decision in favor of you and the company. I watch because you make the recoveries fun and the tracks are irrelevant. Also, you're local, and even though I like the Utah guys (I'm sure you know who I mean), I'm glad there is a local channel. So keep producing and I'll keep watching.
As much as I like watching your zacklift and rollback videos, I like your snow recovery videos probably more. The ones with Riley, Austin, Alex , Zack and not forgetting Grumpy are TH-cam gold. Please don't change who you are or what you do because of what you think TH-cam is after.
The tracks may have brought in new viewers channel surfing but the content you put in your channel and your attitude and knowledge is what keeps us coming back.
Casey, you would do well to remember the old adage of: you can please some of the people all the time and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot please all the people all the time. That still goes out the window when doing the offroad stuff weighs and takes a heavy toll on your stress levels. You need to do what is best for not only you but for your business, and if people stop watching well that’s too bad for them cause they will miss out on your awesome videos. Videos that I for one heavily enjoy.
What brought me to your channel was when you were opening up a box with a MORR bungee cord in it. What kept me around was " I never said I was good at this." 😅 Keep up the great content.
Same for me.
We lose too many good creators down that rabbit hole of 'what viewers want'. They forget they are what we enjoy watching, and lose themselves in the pleasing process.
Thank you for realizing you were headed down the hole! ❤
Looking forward to you enjoying more of what you share with us.
Hey dude we're just along for the ride, you shouldn't have to explain yourself to anyone. Thanks for the content 👍
I’m never bored watching you Casey. I’m always surprised how quickly your videos are over no matter how long they are. I love simple to get the job done.
I did love the track videos, mostly because I love seeing how they could just zoom over the snow no matter how deep. But I do appreciate what you are saying about the hassle of loading and unloading the truck.
The combination of the work you do and what you post is a small part of why I come to your channel. 99.99% of the reason is because it’s you, your honesty and what you do! Keep doing what you’re doing and we will be here! Thanks for always being just you!
I got the recommend for your page, byt watching MORR. I dont remember what the first episode I saw was, but I have never left, cant say the same about MORR. Watching you is like sitting down and having a beer with a buddy. I love feeling like I'm learning something everytime I watch and your attitude and generosity is just what is needed in todays society. Proud Patron member here.
Same here.
A simple and happy Casey is why a lot of us tune in to watch. The trax are cool and all and the other equipment you have is awesome too. But we really watch because of who you are, your personality and that you share the good, the bad and the ugly with grace and humility!
Glad your getting back to the basics as all of us just have the same simple equipment too which makes it all even more relatable. Keep it coming and we'll keep watching your channel grow. You are are best on youtube bar none!
A motto I saw on youtube "Be You, They'll Adjust". Be well.
In my opinion, whatever truck you are driving in whatever conditions is fine with me. Your channel is very enjoyable and educational at the same time. I enjoy your variety of vehicles and situations. Do what you need to do for your business. I will be watching regardless of what you do. Thanks Casey, for a great channel.
The title scared me at first. For a moment I thought you were going to stop the “Snow recoveries.” I’ve watched your channel because of your generosity to those in need. With or without the tracks I’ll continue to watch as long as you’re recovering those stranded drivers with the Casey smile and friendly service. Your videos are fun and I usually learn a new trick or two to assist me in my recoveries.
I think your best videos are the ones where you are clearly having fun, being honest abut life and stuff, and enjoying what you are doing. Also the ones where you are explaining the how and why of your recoveries and the kit that you use.
There are plenty of other channels where there is a lot of noise, action over sized kit, etc. and it is refreshing to see a recovery being done with a simple vehicle and your knowledge and skill.
That's what keeps me here.
You should do a walk around the silver Dodge to let everyone know what it all has now. What's still stock and what's been upgraded
You do what you need to do and just ignore all the armchair critics. I enjoy your channel and will continue to watch. ❤
Eff the "tracks"! I am here for Casey and NO ONE else. Love the POV-type videos. The only commentary I want to hear is Casey... For whatever it's worth.
I too was brought to your channel by the tracked jeep. I will miss the Great Casey LaDelle and Wonderful Tracked Jeep. Some of those trips were beyond entertaining. Like the tracked jeep trip to the radio tower. Quite educational.
Guess I will have to be satisfied with the occasional Great Casey LaDelle and the Magnificent ZackLift!
Now my point of view differs because i work in the towing industry where as most of your viewers likely do not, So for me I watch for the diversity of videos where I can see some of the offroad stuff that I don't typically deal with, I don't have mountains and bad winters, etc so that's all new to me and interesting to see every once in a while but I am also watching for the heavy wecker and all that good stuff as you can always learn from other people with differing methods and I like watching those videos as well as I can learn a lot even though I do that work myself. But I appreciate the diversity, anyone who watches specifically for one thing isn't doing your channel much good in the grand scheme of things anyway unless you specifically do those videos, otherwise they are just a drop in the bucket watching a few of your many videos. I think the diversity is what makes your channel, or any channel watchable over the long term.
The tracks were neat, but the total job, the big trucks and what you do with them and the information is what makes your channel the best one to watch.
Casey you keep doing what best for you, I'll still keep watching all your stuff and supporting the project.
Bummer... Love the tracks on the jeep, will miss them, but... still gonna watch your content!!!
I watched the Fire Tower recovery the other day and the Rescue Team took their Pick up on tires the same place you took the tracks. I was much more impressed with their truck tires going up that mountain in deep snow. So who needs tracks.
Being straight and honest works for me, I'll be around for the foreseeable.
Me too!
Less is more. You be you. Your core subscribers are here for your competence and your compassion, not your tracks.
I just enjoy seeing you helping people out, and enjoying it.
Hello Casey, I saw the Jeep on tracks initially when I found your content, Your skill and integrity is what kept me here. Old skool is better for me.
I just am here for the drives, the humor and the various recoveries
You do you, Casey. There's plenty to like on your channel with or without tracks!
I think you made the right choice, I never really liked the tracks. You could see how it beat the heck out of your vehicles and used so much fuel. Not to mention that you had to trailer it to and from... I will be happy to see more of your videos. Thanks !!!!
It’s funny cause, I hate tracks. I always skipped those videos, I thought they were cheating. I’d rather watch you get yourself out of pickles. I’ve learned way more watching that. Down here in the valley, have numerous family, neighbors all around you over there. In fact I’m hoping someday you have rescue my sister. She just moved over there and was complaining about having to go to work with all the snow. She too is from the valley. So, a hint of snow and EVERYTHING SHUTS DOWN. Love your stuff.
Matt's Off Road Recovery brought me here. I had NO idea what to expect and had no expectations of you or your content.
I enjoyed the video I watched, I subscribed AND "hit the bell" and I have watched every video you made prior to that and every one since then up to this one.
I will continue to watch, whether you are pulling a semi out of a snow drift, travelling with your family, arguing with assholes or building a beach in your yard It's fun to watch.
You could take up basket weaving, I'd still watch.
You do you boo boo, I'm here for all of it.
Ultimately you do you and true fans will continue to be here!
Zacklift in snow got me here, all the way you did your jobs, and your silly jokes with Ethan (my favourite one is the classic "Can't park there bud!" to a guy in a ditch :)) ) and the rest of the guys kept me here. the tracks were like... meh for me! what impressed me the most, was the big camper and boat combo you tugged out of the lake, with the small wrecker. its was like you guys said in that video.... "it was a lot of stuff to be stuck in with"
I'm gonna make a second comment here, just to say it was never the track jeep that brought me to your channel and earned a subscription. It was your attitude, and how you explained what you were doing and why, you made it so easy to understand. The tracks were fun to watch, but I am not surprised they were more trouble than they were worth.
Casey the reason I will be a life long fan and subscriber is because you are real and honest. You think outside the box and prove that regular people can do recoveries without top notch expensive equipment.
The way i look at it with having to trailer the track truck that was costing you more money because you had to make and have gas for the truck pulling the trailer and the track truck.
I enjoy the old school style recoveries after all being creative and thinking outside the box is something you do quite well
The most fun thing to watch is someone having fun. That and someone being good at something.
Well he never said he was good at this! I hate Casey Ladelle! 😂
Casey is lazy! 😅
@@upkpoxerA lazy person will usually find the easiest way to do stuff, as we see here.
@@deadskimountaineer Yes a perfect example of keeping it real without risking breaking a sweat.
I personally prefer this type of content, it is what originally brought me to your channel. Ya the tracks on the jeep were pretty cool. But after the upgrades, like you said, you started to less snow recoveries, which I would rather see more of. I also would rather watch videos of you having fun and enjoying the beautiful scenery while rescuing people. Keep up all the great content, Casey, and just keep doing you, and I'll for sure keep watching!
The tracks are what initially grabbed my attention for the channel, but luckily for you the occasional Rusty cameo is enough to keep me coming back for each video.
Casey, I live in southern Oregon and can't get out as much as I'd like to. I enjoy your videos every morning because you take me where I can't go anymore. I'm happy that you're happy. It makes my experience better. Thank you.
I dont remember the first videos I watched of yours was. I do know the entertainment, honesty, and no BS you bring kept me. Also being a California new to Oregon it's been great seeing and hearing of places I know.
You hit the nail on the head when you said " Everybody needs to do what works best for them. " Keep doing what you do, we love it.
This was your best video in a hot minute. I like the other stuff but missed these.
I remember my days in the Colorado mountains.
Snow on the ground. Sun in the sky.
T Shirts all around. Amazing !!
Love Oregon. The landscape. Not the politics.
I really don't remember what the first video was that I watched, but I joined and watch steadily because I enjoy watching you in action, and I love the scenery that you take us along to see. I totally understand and agree with you about people having the impression that you "HAVE" to come do a recovery/tow - especially when you are doing them out of your desire to be a better person and spread that mantra. To be totally honest, some of the best videos are the ones with your friends and the sketchy situations you find yourselves in (thinking of you, Nate, and the scissor lift, or with the "bench clean in a can"), and now with Ethan while you are using the Zacklift to do your regular tow jobs. In the end, it's CHR, and I for one totally enjoy the different situations you encounter with your heavy rescue setup and would watch them any day! Then the added benefit of your Patreon efforts (such as paying for the couple that lost their wheel), and I'll keep being a subscriber. I do think we need more Riley Cam though - she's quite the camera operator/cheerleader 😁 I've stated this before - you do what Casey needs, and we'll keep following you!!
I watched your channel for years. I enjoyed watching your big rig recoveries. I’m glad you’re back doing this style recovery. I enjoy it the most. I have to say I love your attitude, the most.
I get not wanting to put in all the work and extra time for the track truck. But, I just watched the one recovery video with it and it looked like so much fun driving it around in the snow. Life gets busy and you have to prioritize what is most important.
Decades ago, I was stuck way down in Mexico ( 40 years ago! ) We couldn't fix the truck, but a local fellow used simple tools in an ingenious fashion to do the repairs. We were stunned at his clever use of "what he had"...I get a similar feeling from your videos, seeing and understanding the tricks and physics of the tools you use. I'm pretty clever but have learned a lot from you. As the saying goes, "KEEP ON KEEPIN'ON! "
im a member of a registered, with trainers, 4x4 club..like any sport, ect. get the right info.. those cowboys with 4x4 stikers , get tracks closed, . it happened to us as part of another club outing, some dik, did dohnuts, in the guys field, now, no one goes there.. it only takes 1 sheep.. education is a great asset.. trail mater has good vids.. recovery. south main auto, for car probs..
Dude.. being you is why we watch. The toys are just a tool. If a tool doesn't work you find a different tool that does work for you.
The Casey Ladelle shirt joke was up there! ;-)
If you Saw Bruce and his self recovery video... That is..
The way you present what you do, and how you do it, will never be boring. It's what kept me subscribed, and will continue to keep me subscribed. Thanks Casey.
Thank you for not getting too big. Many people like the simple organic content, not big wheels, big machines, big garages, big events and a production crew.
I'm all for doing what you enjoy. I think I came for the tracks but honestly just enjoy watching.
The track brought me here and Casey kept me here
Casey, MORR directed me here thankfully… the person you are kept me, (plus Bend, parents live there). Channel is awesome, You do you . That’s why I watch every video. Thanks man👌
It makes me shiver to see you out there in the snow in a T-shirt.
I think its fun to watch you anytime your doing recoveries. It gives me a chance to enjoy the snow without being out in it. Thank you for your videos.
You can get rid of the tracks but can't get rid of me! Your honesty and helpfulness will keep us watching. You make the recovery's look so easy! Stay safe out there!
Casey, I watch your channel because of you and your ethics and personality. Everything else is gravy. I’m here for the long haul. Thank you for doing what you do.
Thanks for another great, informative snow recovery, Casey. It looks odd to see you out in a T-shirt and more than a foot of snow on the ground .. but I get it. And yeah, while the tracks were cool, a good draw, and fun for a while, we totally understand why you gave 'em up. Keep doin' what you're doin' and I'll keep tuning in .. Thank you.
Glad to see you went back to your roots! Been watching you for years.
Always enjoy your videos Casey, this one was much more enjoyable because we the viewer could feel your at ease and peacefulness on doing what you truly enjoy doing. No bells and whistles, like you said, fun day on a beautiful day and in an exceptionally beautiful piece of heaven on earth❤️
Well done Mr Casey👍🏻
Fellow Oregonian here, I enjoy all the videos! Also am a truck driver that’s what got me into your channel in the first place. Keep it up, whatever the content may be I’m in! Be safe out there
Don’t blame ya at all for doing what’s best for your own company and yourself. Started watching when you popped up on my YT feed scrolling watched a few videos and realized how awesome of a person you are. Keep it up
Stuff the tracks - a Happy Casey is a Casey having FUN! A fun Casey is one who will continue to bring us great content for years to come.
I thank you for your honesty & the way you cope with each recovery.
Tracks or no tracks. I'm still here. I enjoy your videos. Keep it up.
You do what you enjoy. Your blunt honesty is what keeps me liking this channel.
Your rambling is what I like more than the tracks. 🤠
I'm along for the ride either way. I'm trying my hardest to get over my "I Hate Casey' syndrome! So please continue to bring it on! Those mountains and the scenery, wow!
I figured with a full winter with very little snow you might rethink the tracks! There a fun novelty and possibly a good business investment for remote cell tower repair companies! But for a heavy rescue company that only uses them a handful of times that’s a lot of initial investment and future maintenance costs!
I watch because you seem like a cool guy and I enjoy “hanging out” with you for a few minutes regardless of what trouble you’re getting into. 😊
I personally really enjoy watching you use open differential trucks with tires. I learn new tricks that help me with snow travel and self-recovery in my open differential 4x4.
Tracks were cool, but definitely more time spent loading and unloading than on recovery. To be able to keep doing what your doing it first of all needs to be fun. Staying right here for more fun and adventures.
YOU are why I watch. The last auction video was one of my favorites and it had nothing to do with towing.
I will say the first time I watched was because of the track jeep. Makes total sense why you sold them. Keep up the great content.
That auction video was a hoot. Buys playing with all the toys
Brother you keep doing what you're doing and this old 65 year old man will definitely keep watching 😊
The tracked jeep was cool and all to see but I've been enjoying seeing the videos showing the many ways you can use a zacklift in the snow.
You do you, Casey. That's why I watch, follow, and support
It makes total sense Casey. Thanks for taking us along!
I don't remember what brought me to your channel. Probably the snow recoveries because I just like to watch things like that. But, the reason I subscribed, watch, and give thumbs up on every video is because I've seen the good you do. The days of clean up work, helping people who are actually in need, and just being a good person. Which seems to be in short supply these days.
Long time lurker here:
I was first attracted to this channel seeing crazy recoveries. I only saw the tracked videos later, and thought it was fun to watch, but wasn't a big deal for me.
I really enjoy Casy's personality, and of course the side characters are always fun!
You do you, and I'll keep enjoying!
No matter what you do, i enjoy watching your videos
