I think my biggest complaint against Romulus was the fact that Big Chap was not a key feature when there was so much potential there. But it was still a good watch.
Even the Scorched xemomorph could have been, but wasn't. Actually none of the xenomorphs really did much at all, the movie is an exercise in absolutely terrible and unimaginative writing, like most of Fede's scripts.

There's a canon audio drama called River of Pain that takes place on the Hadley's Hope colony and documents the events leading up to Ripley arriving with the Marines. The audio drama confirms that Wey-Yu knew, or at least theorised, that something extraterrestrial was responsible for the fate of the Nostromo. The events on Sevastopol further confirmed it from the fragments of the flight recorder they could salvage. They knew it was in the Zeta Reticuli system, just not the planet. Ripley's arrival back to Earth was the final piece of the puzzle needed.
That audiobook is fun, but also absolutely stupid as f*ck and makes no sense within the cannon of the franchise. I still enjoy it, but it does require me completely suspending disbelief and common sense, and pretending I'm 11 years old again, which is probably only a couple of years younger than the author.

I have the book and read it. It's very good and I loved the buildup to the infestation and the first encounters with the xenomorph warriors such as in the laundry room. Brilliant tension building story

This is garbarge-tier writing at best. Yes there's bunch of very cool moments in there, and as Alien fans this is a story we wanted, but didn't know it! and of course we all love the colonial marines and want more of them. My point is, this book is completely incompatible with Aliens (the 2nd BEST movie in the franchise), it simple doesn't fit at all, and is there only as fan service/cash grab. There is ZERO Evidence of any colonial marines having been present at Hadley's Hope when we visit the place in Aliens, and that is just not possible at all, nor is Ripley being there. The story is basically insulting your intelligence and hoping you have an IQ of less than 60. My personal opinion though is that the author isn't really that bad, but he was forced to include marines, Ripley and tie the story to Prometheus (big mistake too) or else his book wouldn't get published, but it's just a theory. Like I said there's still a fun time here, but these really shouldn't be cannon but alternative universe stories, since they're impossible.

Personally I think this is what Romulus should have been from the start. The idea of a young group of people searching for a better life and coming across the alien was entertaining for a while, but the omission of Big Chap only to have been killed offscreen was really the biggest mistake Alverez could have made.
I still don’t understand how it even happened. Like it looks like they strung him up, shot off his legs, but somehow Rook got burned in half by the acid blood? What was he laying under the alien?? And they make such a big deal out of the acid blood eating through the hull in the hallway scene, but big chap literally spills his guts out on the floor and that caused no real issues to integrity. Just all over the place.

As for a sequel, I thought they might follow up with a mini series as there are still a lot of loose ends - raine is now an illegal alien on the new planet, did Andy get reprogrammed again on the way? Did Kay survive? Will she land on the new planet and spawn more abominations? Will the colonial marines go after them? Lots that can be done there.

The Xenomorph has no extremely large FLAT surfaces to uniformly deflect light. And if the Company could find the Xenomorph, then they could find the Narcissus even more easily, but they didn't. And if they did, the director provided no explanation for why they just let it continue floating in space
How does the bio printer, print the alien acid blood in the face huggers? I mean I guess I see it able to print normal genetic material say if it was a rat.. I guess scifi reasons lol

Either this is Bad/Lazy writing or the writers are confident the viewers are dumb enough not to notice clear breaches of "Space Logic" FFS

I've really enjoyed all of Fedes' movies and thought he would be a great fit for the franchise. It's very clear that he bit off more than he could chew. Characters know things that they weren't even in the room to hear being discussed . The time frame in which the events take place is a complete mess . Aliens seem to be zero threat and just wait patiently for our main characters to tell each other jokes and come up with plans on how to kill them . If those robots were standard issue weyland science officers, why didn't Ripley, etc, know It's just a hodge podge of reused ideas with little to no story arc , character development , or likeable protagonists .

It is stupid to think the company would spend all those resources on that station and just let it be lost. They've done WY commandos in games and that would have worked great in this story. The comic doesn't tell any new stuff. Everything was already told by Rook in the movie. So absolutely pointless and it looks like they want to milk the cow as much as they can.
I remember you saying in the stream where you and the others go over the final trailer for the movie, the guy from midnightsedge asked u if there are any hints about how the company already knew about the xenomorph and you said if you know where to look you'll get it. I have seen the movie only once and i didnt really spot anything im curious to know what those hints are! :)
That...makes no sense If the sequel mirrors Romulus in anyway - my guess is it will likely have something to do with the Queen that got shot out of the Sulaco in Aliens However, since the Corbelan actually had a destination unlike the Narcissus, something would need to disrupt the 9 year journey and delay the events long enough by 37 years Or the sequels of Romulus and Isolation are entwined, and the outcome from Isolation 1 has an impact on Romulus 2 - which would need to play a part in Isolation 2

Isolation 2 will follow her story again most definitely, so the percussions from Isolation 1 will have to have an affect her journey in some way. Given the Romulus station held Ripley in the Narcissus, perhaps that plays a part in Isolation 2
I decide what is canon. Not a washed up director like Ridley Scott. The company did not knowingly send the Nostromo crew to LV426 knowing what was there.

They are both deeply flawed movies , but I will be drawn to repeatedly, watching them a lot more than I will romulus . It just brings very little to the table . They would have had the flight data from Ripley's Shuttle, as that is briefly shown in Alien Romulus, so it's not so far fetched really.

I was disappointed in the movie because there was so much potential. I liked the premises but it should have been a security or merc team going to the station. It is stupid to think the company would spend all those resources on that station and just let it be lost. They've done WY commandos in games and that would have worked great in this story. That's the condensed version of my rant. Thought you might like it Mr H since you're such a big alien fan

Interesting they show what an actual bug hunt is supposed to be in the Alien universe.
Comic and the film are full of cliche Tropes and lines, its so redundant to hear the same cliches mentioned as if its original.

The comic doesn't tell any new stuff. Everything was already told by Rook in the movie. So absolutely pointless and it looks like they want to milk the cow as much as they can.

I remember you saying in the stream where you and the others go over the final trailer for the movie, the guy from midnightsedge asked u if there are any hints about how the company already knew about the xenomorph and you said if you know where to look you'll get it. I have seen the movie only once and i didnt really spot anything im curious to know what those hints are! :)

If the sequel mirrors Romulus in anyway - my guess is it will likely have something to do with the Queen that got shot out of the Sulaco in Aliens
However, since the Corbelan actually had a destination unlike the Narcissus, something would need to disrupt the 9 year journey and delay the events long enough by 37 years
Or the sequels of Romulus and Isolation are entwined, and the outcome from Isolation 1 has an impact on Romulus 2 - which would need to play a part in Isolation 2

Isolation 2 will follow her story again most definitely, so the percussions from Isolation 1 will have to have an affect her journey in some way. Given the Romulus station held Ripley in the Narcissus, perhaps that plays a part in Isolation 2

I decide what is canon. Not a washed up director like Ridley Scott. The company did not knowingly send the Nostromo crew to LV426 knowing what was there.
Well for me I really don't care much for Marvel's Alien or Predator comics they will never be as good as Dark Horse but this one is okay that's I'm gonna say.
I was expecting to have a good explanation on how they found Big Chap on the deep of space.

Not a fan of the art. Rook looks nothing like Ian Holm. Why do they feel the need to insert that one eyed female marine? She looks so out of place with her over the top cartoon-ish behavior. She feels like a character out of Alien: Resurrection. 😂

Predator 2 for example was considered a bad movie back when it was made but it is infinity better than prey or any other predator sequel.
Lame - absolutely no reason to bring back Big Chap (especially in such a tenuous way), cheapens the original.

@Xenomorph.king24 prometheus and covenant actually have a story and original concepts. They are both deeply flawed movies , but I will be drawn to repeatedly, watching them a lot more than I will romulus .
It just brings very little to the table . No new concepts or likeable characters. You don't even get a lot of Xenomorph action , and what you do get isn't great.
I honestly think we got more and better-looking action with the aliens in Covenant .

Interesting back story but I read earlier in the year that the Romulus backstory involves the main characters parents being involved in bringing facehuggers onboard the station, they were secretly Working on the xeno thang.
As for a sequel, I thought they might follow up with a mini series as there are still a lot of loose ends - raine is now an illegal alien on the new planet, did Andy get reprogrammed again on the way? Did Kay survive? Will she land on the new planet and spawn more abominations? Will the colonial marines go after them? Lots that can be done there.
