I picked up a third party head strap with battery. It works well and is cheaper than the basic elite strap. It seems Meta have priced all the accessories quite high.
I just bought the Quest 3, an upgrade from my Oculus Rift S. This is the first video I've watched (of many) that explained effectively how to remove the old strap and put on the elite one. I still had a hard time unsnapping one of the corners to remove the facial interface but finally got it. The elite strap feels very comfortable. It's similar to the upgrade strap on my Rift S but the rubber piece in the back makes the elite more comfortable. Thanks for the video.
I finally upgraded my quest 2 to a quest 3 a couple of days ago. I only just got my elite strap today, and boy, oh boy, does it make a difference... The basic strap not only gave me a massive migraine both tines I used it after about 15 minutes, but the pressure on the tops of my ears made it doubly unbearable. The second I strapped the elite strap on, I understood why people recommended it over cheaper 3rd party versions that I always used for the quest 2. It's 1000 times more comfortable to wear for long periods, and it does stay off even my ginormous ears, so even though it's pricy, it's well worth it in the long run. The 3rd party ones all had one thing in common. they would all clip the top of my ears and cause a lot of pain over long periods. The elite does not. Worth every penny in my humble opinion.
Hello, there are massive problems. The strap battery discharges by 30% within 12 hours without use. Meta has sent me a replacement strap. The problem remains the same. Despite 100% charge and no use, the battery is completely discharged after 1.5 days.
This review is for the standard elite strap - I haven’t used the elite power strap but I have heard there were problems. I’m getting the kiwi powered strap soon so I’ll do a review.
There are problems with the Quest 2 Elite strap discharging too The only way to stop it is to unplug it from the headset untill your ready to use it. Its as if its trickle charging the main headset constantly. It was never fixed........
First time VR buyer and I still can’t decide on size. Yes most games are small, but a couple of upcoming AAA titles could be 60gig and suddenly I’m beyond halfway of the 128gig (once OS taken into account). Im pretty casual given I have toddler in house. Thoughts?
I went for the 512 and If you buy the 512gb before end of jan you get 6 months free meta subscription as well. I made this video you might find helpful th-cam.com/video/uU-8dH-bAww/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KxN3KE0bEI4Nsjvz
I went for 128 and thinking about having 1 game at a time when they come. Hopefully I have a bigger budget once games I want to play is so big that I need a headset with more memory ^_^ But I have a decent PC too so it helped me with the Choice there
Honestly, the elite strap is garbage. I own one, and the comfort is not that good. Yeah, it's better than the stock strap, but it's not worth the money whatsoever... Just get the kiwi design elite strap its cheaper, and the build quality and comfort beats the official strap at every level.
@EatSleepVR I got the official straps for the controllers as well. What I like about them its not like a silicone sock that you wear your controller with. But for some people, it can be a problem because the official straps are kinda rough. It feels like the strap on top of the elite strap, but it's wrapped into your hands. It can be a problem for some people who have sensitive skin. The kiwi brand is nice, but what I don't like it's a silicone sock that you have to wear your controller with. I guess it's personal preference. I also bought the silicone face pad, and it does feel nicer. I will give them that, but the price is outrageous.
Not sure what strap you purchased but mine definitely isn't garbage. I totally agree with ESVR, irs far more comfortable. All the meta accessories are expensive because they are trying to recoup the loss they are taking on each headset sold. I bought the official dock and elite strap and it was almost as much as the headset.. Totally worth it though.
@ReptilianRichardRamirez mine is the official elite head strap from Meta. It does feel nice. I'll give them that, but they are infamous for breaking. I don't know if it's the quality or design flaw. Mine hasn't broken yet since I'm super careful with it. Every time I put my quest 3 on my head, I always adjust it all they way out and then crank it back in. The strap would be worth it if it's like 30 bucks. With that kind money, you can buy the Kiwi head strap with a battery that's costs almost the same as the official elite strap with NO battery. And arguably, the Kiwi brand is more comfortable since it has padding, and it's a lot more durable. I also own the official carrying case for my quest 3. Honestly, I would say that's the only Meta accessory worth buying since it has very nice features and design.

Which 3rd party strap? Do you still like it?

The thing I love about your videos is you are honest and say it like it is

Yeah it was ahead of its time - Wii sports still hasn’t been beaten as a fun family game

I agree! It’s too expensive. Thank you!
My question... where to purchase "memory foam cushion"
Quest2 head strap from Kiwi was very comfortable.
my dad paid almost 800 dollars for my quest three i just got it for christmas, prices are unbeliveable
Thats very generous
i bought my for 440 euro
Meta didn't copy Razer's Strap well enough for Quest 3's default strap, it would've been great.

@@pastuhgot the vr just for that and my pc only fullfill 1:4 requirements
other usefull accesories for meta 3?
That droopy top black strap really kills the aesthetic, is it really all that necessary to use with the Elite Strap?
I find it just lifts the weight a bit from the front of your head. It might depend on your face shape - the pro doesn’t have one so you might be ok
Why you don’t review the battery part
Because this is the standard elite strap - there is no battery. The battery is only part of the elite battery strap which I don’t have
Great video! New subscriber
Thanks, much appreciated
It feels better. Much easier to adjust and overpriced. Its should be like 30$.
Are you playing Wii U?
It’s the original Wii 👍
