Hello everyone! I hope you all enjoy another Carnivores art video conceptualizing some more hypothetical HD-style dinosaurs! I am working on mod showcase videos for Carnivores Triplex, the new Fallen Kings beta, and Archipelagos, I’ve just been traveling a lot, so I haven’t had much time to sit down and play the mods to get my thoughts. However, traveling has given me plenty of time to work on some art projects, so I thought I’d go ahead and take another shot at some Carnivores HD DLC concepts after Dinosaur Hunt’s DLC release. Hi Saurian Target. I know you are close to some community members and you released the mod yourself. The forum is not very active at the moment, so I would like to have a few questions, which, if you would be so kind, could you please answer them for me. I'm currently working on a mod and I need some advice please.
Honestly, they should just hire you in an offcial/unoffical capacity as you're basically THE Carnivores guy, you're pretty much the voice of the community and seem to have fingers in every pie.
Saurian Target always manages to make the most Original and fresh Dinosaur designs I have ever seen. I would even say his Artist skills are up there with Genndy Tartakovsky and Ricardo Delgado.

I honestly hope Digital Dreams gets you on board for designing future dinosaurs for Dinosaur Hunt, you'd be perfect for the role with how dedicated you are to the Carnivores series. These designs look amazing by the way, especially the Giga, HUGE upgrade in my opinion
I kinda wish the Carno was weaker. It eats up heart-shots like nothing. But, with the ability to me use mods now, I don’t really play the reboots now. They are so lacking compared to mods for a 20 year old game! I just think we mod support for this game desperately. Imagine shooting a Jackelopterects (pretty sure I misspelled that), and then switching to a rail gun to blast a spinosaur! Still, it’s nice to have another Saurian Target video, and I like the black eyes on your carno!
These are all just perfect. That Carnotaurus in particular is *exactly* what I had in mind for a redo of the current Carno (and might've been frought up in some conversations with Feilong...), even down to the black stripes and boxy head. The rest of them are equally fitting and well thought out for the game, and as stupid as it is to say, perhaps in some distant future we can have them in-game.....
I always get excited when you post a new vid, but when you post a drawing video I nearly jump for joy. It's always great to see a great artist draw, especially when it connects to some of my favourite things or franchises. Your a great artist, Saurian. I hope you know this and continue to do great things!
Well since the DLC featured 2 carnivorous dinosaurs, you would think that the next dinosaurs they would introduce would be herbivorous. With that being said, totally dig your carnotaurus depiction. That looks a million times better than what we got.

Really glad to see this series return, watching your artworks take form is always pleasing to watch and your skills are phenomenal! Great work on redesigning the DLC dinosaurs, they look perfectly fitting yet unique compared to the rest of the roster, and I'm quite partial to the Giga myself - you can't go wrong with a gigantic bright-green theropod. Really glad to see the Therizinosaurus appear too, something so strange deserves to join the rebooted Dinosaur Planet's fauna.The hunched, vertical posture, hanging fingers and colour scheme loosely remind me of a stereotypical 'Grey Alien' interestingly enough. I do hope you eventually adapt Dimorphodon for this series. It's only classic animal that still needs to be redrawn, and we need to show some love for the series' first flying ambient. Plus, the reboots in general could definitely do with more aerial ambients.
Thank you for the kind words, my friend! I hadn’t even noticed that connection with the Theri and the grey aliens, very clever observation! Don’t worry, I do have Dimorphodon on my list of possible DLC creatures, so I hope to get to it soon!
Truly amazing art, I specially love the Carnotaurus and the Iguanodon, but to be honest I don't really like the Theri that much, I think maybe something like the Luis V. Rey's Therizinosaurus depiction would fit better, anyways, I love these drawings, hope you do more Saurian.
The potential this game has to be a cult classic like the originals, is ridiculously high if they stick to it, listen to the community and add what’s requested. We so desperately need all the animals from the first two games. New weapons, too. This fake could sell boatloads if they nail it.
Although I personally feel different about allosaurus being top priority for the 2nd medium sized carnivore, as it and ceratosaurus are from the late Jurassic period, and both even lived in the same region, I agree that carnotaurus should be a more fast and fragile monster, the current carno is both way too big (even towering the giga) and way too bulky, it feels like it’s trying to take the role as the 2nd bulky large carnivore, which feels just wrong, especially with the giga in the mix. Also love your giga remodel, it gave me nostalgia seeing that old green giganotosaurus I used to see everywhere as a kid.
Thank you! Yeah, I really only have Allo in that spot because it’s a legacy dinosaur. Ideally, a different predator could work just as well. Glad the Giga gave you some nostalgia! I always love to hear that.
we honestly just need gigantic dinosaurs. Especially for the fog maps. Seeing a Spinosaurus with a tooth almost as tall as the player on the fog map would be amazing. And maybe climbing into trees would be a cool feature. or a giant blue and green baryonx would be awesome. Or a water level! that'd be awesome
Was PRAYING You'd make the colors similar to the Cityscape Giga, but the green looks good too. One of my biggest issues with the reboots are that they didn't keep the animals' designs consistent with the canon, which matters a lot to me. I wanted to see the green C1/C2 Rex with better graphics, not a generic brown one. Lol
I did think about Cityscape colors, but this green one just kept tugging at me… 😅 Yeah, I also wish we’d have gotten to see more OG canon-style retrosaurs for the game
Great artwork!!! I really love to see more dinosaurs in Carnivores Dinosaur Hunt, but I didn't get the DLC yet. The game is still going great, keep up the great artwork for the dinosaurs
What would the next logical huntable animal be, something like Coelophysis to finally get at least one Triassic animal in and to be a very small carnivore?

Hey Saurian, these new drawings are quite amazing and unique. Excellent work. Saurian I just wanted to talk to you about MY version of carnivores modders edition engine. For a long time, I wasn’t sure how I would implement the C2 DLC dinosaurs without creating tons of save files. Then after some thought I decided to modify a copy of C2+ And install the MEE to it to implement the dlc dinosaurs into Carnivores 2 as map ambients. Of course, I had to decide what maps I would implement them to. Then it hit me, what better way to determine that than look at Saurian Target’s mod showcase videos! This is what I have so far: Burianosaurus is endemic to Delphaeus Hills. Dracorex and Iguanodon are endemic to Fort Ciskin. Massospondylus is endemic to Vengar Fjords. Daspletosaurus is endemic to Manya Jungle. Acrocanthosaurus, Corythosaurus, and Torosaurus are endemic to Mount Ravan. I know that you showcased the Acro at Fort Ciskin, but I felt that the Acro and Cory were too strongly connected to be set in different maps. There are a few more DLC creatures I have in mind in adding, but I don’t know how to do it yet: Dromaeosaurus would be endemic to the Ancient Coast. Deinonychus and the Oviraptor from the same pack as the Dromaeosaurus would be endemic to Fort Ciskin. Iguanocolossus would be endemic to Manya Jungle. Giganotosaurus would be endemic to Mount Ravan. Now these ones, are tricky because the modders edition engine gave the velociraptor idle animations, which the Deinonychus and Dromaeosaurus currently lack. The Iguanocolossus and Giganotosaurus feature there own kill animations and I don’t know if there’s a way to implement a mod that allows for multiple custom Rex AI death animations yet. Oviraptor would be the first map ambient non-trophy creature and I think the way I would implement it would be the same way that Tormer implemented his Microceratus in the Jurassic Park Hunter Legends Special Edition. I have given some thought to whether I should try and upload it to Moddb, but I am currently not even a member and I would have to get permission from the mod creators in order to do so. Sorry for this comment being so long, but I thought this was a really cool idea for me to try and I just wanted to hear your thoughts on it. If you have any suggestions for a more appropriate area for these creatures please let me know!
Oh, I forgot to mention I put the Cory in Mount Ravan because the mod creator put up a picture of the cory at mount ravan so i figured it would have been fitting to have it where the creator put it.
I have a chalenge for you. Play Siberian expeditions. The chalenge: Shoot 4 different animals of your choosing. 4 weapon limit. And then go on a map of your choosing. Preferably the saiyan taiga
I would love to see a new creature Called Trachodon,it’s a invalid name for the edmontosaurus that I’m suprised hasn’t been used,because well it seems Like the Most carnivores thing to think of Good job saurian with your drawings
They should also make a mobile carnivores abyss focused on the seas of fm uv 32 which would feature creatures like Elasmosaurus,ichthyosaurus and tylosaurus(the cityscape one)

amazing i just love saurian target vids i hope you grow big one day,just to suggest you should do vids on other video games like subnatica or hell call of duty that would be amazing but if not then that's fine keep it going saurian your vids are amazing take care.
I hope this game won't get dumped as the Carnivores mobile ports (even though they have different developer teams working on them). I remember back in the day everyone used to discuss every update and suggest the new ones, but now... Well, I wish it will not happen again with the modern Carnivores game.
Solid work man. Got a question about carnivores reloaded - when I boot up a hunt, after a certain amount of time (haven’t timed it), it just automatically cancels the hunt and sends me back to the menu. Have you ever deal it with this, and if so, how’d you fix it? Thanks bro

What about one dinosaur is on the cover, remember? And Carnivores Corporation? And why didn't you use Dominion Giga to make it look primal? Basically, you didn't watched Jurassic World Dominion yet?
Your designs are beautiful as always, I really hope digital dreams get a 3D modelator (feilong maybe??), because whithout a 3d modelator I really don’t know how are they planning to continue the game through DLC dinos. Hope they remodel the carno and giga to something more similar to your concept.
For a game called carnivores they really didn't put any effort with the dlc dinos. Personally I was more scared of the smaller dinosaurs like velociraptor and ceolophysis
these 4 dinos you drew are FAR better than the actual Carno and Giga we got. if you want Iguanodon to be in the game, would you mind getting Megalosaurus? i know, we'd already have Allosaurus; but if we're going to include not-as-well-known dinosaurs, i vote for the *very first* one ever discovered. not to mention we need more dinosaurs from the Jurassic (currently, there's only 2 Jurassic dinos out of 11, if we include the ambient animals). for the small Jurassic dinosaur, why not Dilophosaurus? for huntable herbivores, my choice is Camptosaurus; the ambient ones would be Compsognathus and Dimorphodon.
Hey Saurian. So i have a problem with whenever i play Carnivores on pc. Whenever i set my graphics to 3dfx or direct3D, i select the map,dinosaurs,etc, i press the hunt button and it loads but then it closes and i dont get taken to the hunt. do you know how to fix this?
For years I've wanted these kinds of additions. Now, after playing the latest update on Switch, I want to be safe on rocks again (what's the point of climbing up a mountain if literally everything can kill you from the ground). High hides are a thing. And I want the basic rifle fixed. This might be just me, but point-blank range with upgraded damage shouldn't take multiple shots to down a Dino. The shooting range shows me in the critical spot, but it doesn't register it. I'm guessing this is game wide. Maybe we'll get fixes and better DLC.
I think your redesigns are all great in general, but I think the Giga could use some work. I don't know if it's because of the posture you put it in but its skull looks way too small for the rest of its body. It almost looks like an abelisaur to me. The rest of it is great though!
@@somedinosaurthings1622 I will rephrase. I wish he could put away drawing a reboot designs and return to original Carnivores for a while, not forever. I love reboot designs just as much as the original.

I hope this game won't get dumped as the Carnivores mobile ports (even though they have different developer teams working on them). I remember back in the day everyone used to discuss every update and suggest the new ones, but now... Well, I wish it will not happen again with the modern Carnivores game.

Solid work man. Got a question about carnivores reloaded - when I boot up a hunt, after a certain amount of time (haven’t timed it), it just automatically cancels the hunt and sends me back to the menu. Have you ever deal it with this, and if so, how’d you fix it? Thanks bro
I haven’t dealt with it myself yet, but I’ve heard setting the resolution down to 800x600 helps with random crashes. Might be worth a try?

Your designs are beautiful as always, I really hope digital dreams get a 3D modelator (feilong maybe??), because whithout a 3d modelator I really don’t know how are they planning to continue the game through DLC dinos. Hope they remodel the carno and giga to something more similar to your concept.
I hope they get a 3D modeler too… not sure how they’ll be able to stay afloat without one :/
For a game called carnivores they really didn't put any effort with the dlc dinos. Personally I was more scared of the smaller dinosaurs like velociraptor and ceolophysis

i know, we'd already have Allosaurus; but if we're going to include not-as-well-known dinosaurs, i vote for the *very first* one ever discovered.
not to mention we need more dinosaurs from the Jurassic (currently, there's only 2 Jurassic dinos out of 11, if we include the ambient animals).
for the small Jurassic dinosaur, why not Dilophosaurus?
for huntable herbivores, my choice is Camptosaurus; the ambient ones would be Compsognathus and Dimorphodon.

Hey Saurian. So i have a problem with whenever i play Carnivores on pc. Whenever i set my graphics to 3dfx or direct3D, i select the map,dinosaurs,etc, i press the hunt button and it loads but then it closes and i dont get taken to the hunt. do you know how to fix this?
also i tried direct 3d and it worked for 30 seconds and was messed up
I would just use software. That has never happened to me.
For years I've wanted these kinds of additions. Now, after playing the latest update on Switch, I want to be safe on rocks again (what's the point of climbing up a mountain if literally everything can kill you from the ground). High hides are a thing. And I want the basic rifle fixed. This might be just me, but point-blank range with upgraded damage shouldn't take multiple shots to down a Dino. The shooting range shows me in the critical spot, but it doesn't register it. I'm guessing this is game wide. Maybe we'll get fixes and better DLC.
I think your redesigns are all great in general, but I think the Giga could use some work. I don't know if it's because of the posture you put it in but its skull looks way too small for the rest of its body. It almost looks like an abelisaur to me. The rest of it is great though!
Yeah upon looking at it again, the head does seem kinda small. I may upscale it sometime to fix the proportions 🤔
