I wish the DLC was about some Tundra environment (McRath Islands) with Megatherium, Doedicurus, Wooly Rhino, Hyeanodon, Mammoth, Smilodon, Megaloceros, and Yeti. It could be double the huntable roster, and seeing Mammal-like Aliens roaming the Dinosaur Planet would be nice. You, the hunter, would never notice a Smilodon on your radar, as it hides in the bushes, and then BOOM! Pounces on you when you least expect it. Also, hunting a rare mythical creature would be an absolutely terrifying experience

Yeah these were pretty easy videos to make as I already had all the artwork for them done like a year ago 😂

My thoughts; you could probably mod the Ceratosaurus to make a Yutyrannus, and you could probably modify the Ceratosaurus to also make Allosaurus. And I think you could even try and mod the Ceratosaurus model into something that might resemble the Pachycephalosaurus, since the body plan is similar enough. The head would take the most work to change it into something that looks Pachycephalosaurus-like, and it's AI could probably be switched to Parasaurolophus, if you want it skittish, or keep it on Ceratosaurus if you want to keep it aggressive (but hopefully switch it over from carnivore to herbivore).
Creating a Dromaeosaur ("raptor") is going to be trickier, IF we're just sticking with the available dinosaur models. Hypothetically, you could try to mod the Gallimimus model into a raptor, but adjusting the head, neck, legs and arms of the base model into something that resembles certain species, but you may need to switch it's behavioral AI over to Ceratosaurus.
Sauropods though would be the most difficult to mod from the existing roster of ingame models, IF you even can. Frankly, you'd really have to carve up any of the existing models to make a sauropod, to where you may as well try and download an actual sauropod model to add to your modded game.
I’m not sure Yutyrannus would work as a model edit given the feathers.

If someone could make a good looking sauropod out of these already available models, that would be INSANE 😂
@@jurassicswine the same could be said of the Gallimimus, Pelicanomimus, or any raptors, compies, Oviraptor, etc. But if you’re sticking with that 90’s era (pre-feathered) aesthetic, then it may not be an issue in this case.
@@jaredmc7982 true but for me personally feathers are so integral to Yutyrannus’s character that having it featherless sorta defeats the purpose of including Yutyrannus

I must admit, I'm slightly tempted to give a couple of these model edits a try myself.... I'll see if I can find the free time amidst my university work. Also, I'm surprised you didn't go for Tlatolophus as a Parasaurolophus edit, to me it seems like the best option for a variant that's similar enough to not destroy the model but unique enough visually to stand out

Wuerhosaurus looks adoracute. No wonder U would list it as not dangerous.
It’s such a sad thing to see missed opportunities. The fact they held this IP and dropped the ball is a bummer. This game is literally the EASIEST game to make and the profits it would rake in far outweigh the time put into it.
It’s such a simple and fun concept. No need to add complex story, no need for complex voice acting or anything. Just create a bunch of dinosaurs, sone guns and small maps and we would be happy. If I was a game dev just staring out and could get 1 game-related magic wish from a genie, it would be to have the carnivores IP. The risk Vs reward is almost 100% in favor of reward.
So it’s sad the devs keep fuvkin up and trying to half ass it. Put some polish on this game and add basic shit like more dinosaurs and you’ll make profit.
Prehistoric Hunt has won this war quite honestly. Carnivores is more extinct than the dinos themselves. Yet PH still feels like it's playing second fiddle, when the developers on that game are doing everything DD refuses to do.

Sometimes I wonder what would happen if like someone huge youtuber or something played carnivores and bought more attention to it.
This could perhaps be done with mods depending on the engine and game engine itself, (which I don’t know what game engine hd and reborn runs on lol.). But it believe it could be done, given the talent of this community. Very cool idea nonetheless!
(Also the Eodromaeus idea is really cool! As if it’s some sort of domesticated dog that tells you when something is nearby).
I dunno which engine HD and Reborn run on, but I know Dinosaur Hunt runs on Unity!
Technically speaking, one could also do the same model edits for the DLC Carnotaurus & Giganotosaurus. Like for example, from the Carnotaurus we could have Majungasaurus and Acusaurus, and from the Giganotosaurus we could have Carcarodontosaurus and Siats.
Siats would be amazing to have as the name alone makes it fit so well.

You know for all the carnivores titles, its shocking the devs have never used pterosaurs to fulfill a waterfowl niche. Imagine scaring flocks of rhamphorhynchus out of the canopy so the hunter can fire upon them and claim the fattest, fluffiest ones for the trophy room

That’s a really great idea! Pterosaur hunting would be awesome… especially if you add in some azdarchids.
@jurassicswine I'd add a large azhdarchid as both a huntable species as well as a built in penalty. If you don't go to collect your trophies within a certain time frame they have a chance to spawn in circling overhead and eventually landing to feed off it, ruining the kill; eliminating any points value or possibility of taxidermy. On the bright side, you can do it intentionally to lure them out, as it's one of the main ways to encounter one. Perhaps more valuable kills have higher chances of drawing in larger and rarer specimens. So it's a high risk high reward species.
@SaurianTarget it's one of the reasons I don't think ambient animals should exist in their non-huntable forms anymore, because it limits the flexibility in the hunting experience. A creature like lystrosaurus, for example, would typically be an ambient animal due to its size. But imagine the possibilities if it was on the roster. You could have the attack Dino (as mentioned in the video) scare them out of their underground burrow for you to gun down as they flee

Those are some amazing model edits! I dont really have a favorite because they all look so good, but if i had to choose it would bethe blue gorgosaurus.
Imagine if the smaller species you used were hostile ambient creatures similar to the mobile Iguanadon from back in the day. Exclusive to certain maps and wouldn't be on the hunt menu, but will attack and kill you if you meet them at a bad time.

Hostile ambient creatures are always a fun idea
Man, great work! It’s great you can get out so many videos so quick(don’t feed the need to keep it up, sounds difficult to post very other day). It’s a shame DD threw away this game, your ideas are great. Personally, I believe if they were to go this route, it would be great to have raptor and sauropod models to edit. Shame we cant change the models.

2: I get it would be cool to have these things, but hunger and thirst would be a pain to deal with. This is a hunting game, not a survival game. Cameras and other accercories could be cool I guess.

As a Brazilian, it is difficult or impossible to find a channel focused on carnivores, you save me, I even made a mod concept for carnivores

I like the idea of model editing to make 'new' dinosaurs. In games we also recuse rigs to make other things, like dinosaur variants in this case. I dunno how active the mod community is for this game, but it might be something attainable? I mean if the game is abandoned, is it to much to hope the devs release assets for the community to make its own mods?
Well the devs have said they don’t plan to add mod support, but the community already has access to the models, so if someone can figure out the code, it might be possible 🤔

I’ve actually worked with the Pteranodon UV map myself, and it’s so tiny and stretched already, I’m not sure if anything could be done well with it 😅 but I’m sure someone out there is creative enough to make it work!

Would love to see Eodromaeus in the game. And also why not have a customizable Emblem system you can put on your weapons and Trophy Ship,Although yes i can understand why today they don't want Emblems in their games,because of people making offensive emblems in Call of duty.

I admit that was just COD nostalgia. But yeah pre-made emblems are the best choice for the emblem mechanic. Since people are tired of seeing Racist/everything else stuff.
Tbh, my first thing would be to make the base game better. Tbh, all the dinosaur models in the game are, tbqh, painfully generic.
So what I'd do first is revamp them with a combination of modern anatomy know-how (know the rules before you break them) as well as influences from Burian, Knight, Harryhausen,. Tippet, etc.
Then add more character to the world such as species interactions, ecosystem preferences, etc.
Ik the lore states they're alien dinosaurs but they should still have all the personality and depth that regular animals would

my favourite concepts have to be Saichania, Megalosaurus, Herrerasaurus and Eodromaeus.

10:22 shouldn't it be a fair bit longer, then? if the tail's its only defense, then shouldn't it take a page from Tenontosaurus and make the tail longer so it can *actually* defend itself?
a death animation could be the Camptosaurus swinging its tail and breaking the Hunter's spine.
11:47 LOVE the model, but it should lose the ridge on its back. Megalosaurs are *featureless* predators, so why give it a spiny ridge? flavour? not a good excuse.
(Allosaurs have crests in front of their eyes; a feature. i wouldn't count them as featureless predators)
and it should have 3 fingers, not 4.

but i'd add a pinky finger. it was a misconception Herrerasaurus had 5 fingers, right? since the dinosaurs from Carnivores Dinosaur Hunt are from the early 2000s era (before Prehistoric Planet), why not add a handful of misconceptions? Charonosaurus has a crest sail, and Parasaurs didn't have such sail; why not give Herrerasaurus 5 fingers?
a death animation would be Herrerasaurus grabbing the Hunter with its hands, grabbing the head with its teeth and breaking his neck.

20:01-20:10 i've brainstormed something similar: almost all the mobs i've come up with that Mojang could add to Minecraft are basically modified, re-painted, tweaked versions of existing mobs (Troll and Dragon, to name 2 of them).

Miragaia I think is unique enough to warrant its own brand new model, but Gigantspinosaurus could work!

It seems unlikely we'll get any new content for Dinosaur Hunt anytime soon (hopefully not ever), but is there any likelihood for any of these dinosaurs to show up on the next version of Carnivores Genesis?
Or are you just gonna stick with the default roster of Dinosaur Hunt + with the exclusive species from Dinosaur Hunter mobile?
They might show up in Genesis at some point! My focus will be on the dinosaurs already in the games first though.
I admit i've tried the carnivores mobile ports when i was a kid and recently i've been getting into it, but i cant find any of the carnivores games, neither know wich one i should get, any recommendations you could give me?
I have downloads to the original games in the description of a video called “How to download Carnivores games/mods,” but I’d honestly recommend the mods over the official games, all of which can be downloaded on ModDB. Carnivores Triassic, Carnivores+, Mandibles, Far North, Fallen Kings, Triplex, and Cordelia are the big names on the modding scene right now, but I’d also recommend Archipelagos, Sanctuary, and Jurassic Park Hunter Legends as some personal favorites.
I personally wish this carnivores game had designs closer to the original retrosaur style because these are aliens they shouldn't look like accurate dinosaurs
Same, but since the designers went with a ‘90s style for the dinos in this game, I followed suit with my hypothetical designs in this video 😅
@SaurianTarget fair, I just hope we actually get a full-on remaster for classic carnivores and ice age so those can be played on modern hardware and consoles, plus there's a lot of remasters lately

I think some model could be more diffrent in look some body part moved a bit or could be bit longer shorter for example alioramus should be way more skinny
