I followed everything that you did, except at the last step, plugging the controller in, it shows it's charging and all that but it doesn't pop up on the list, it still says nothings connected. Any advice? Bluetooth isnt an option for reason btw
For those who lose sound when you plug in the controller. Go to the sound settings and reselect your audio boxes (or monitor) as sound output. Windows regards the controller as an audio output.
Eimran thanks for this because ... my controller is slow on commands if my headset is connected as the output device. When I switch to controller, it works great but obviously there’s no sound. Any solutions other than getting an old controller? (been recommended) At least I get why it’s been messed up now :D
step 1: go to steam-settings-controller and tick playstation support (make sure on this window your controller is detected - it will be) step 2: go to steam library, the actual game, click on the wheel and select properties - general - bottom off leaf - set the steam input per game setting to global.. you're welcome my dude..

Hey man, awesome video! BUT I have a question. Everything works, EXCEPT that my touchpad works as a touchpad and I can't get it to turn into the "map" button in-game - it just keeps on being a touchpad. I really want to use the touchpad as my map button in fortnite! Help me pleaaaase!!!!
-shrugs- Maybe you can change it to a different keymap thingie in the settings for binding it to different keys. Like in a pinch you could bind it to the Keyboard map button. So when you press the pad its like you hit M on keyboard.

I got a question, since you said it tricks windows that it is an xbox controller, in game, will the buttons that shown graphically be xbox buttons or ps4 buttons?
It will show you Xbox buttons. Can get confusing. When in doubt. Print yourself a picture of an xbox controller so you dont have a brain fart during a quicktime sequence.
I followed everything to a tee and it didn’t work I synced my ps4 controller to my laptop without ds4 and it worked fine I re synced it to the PlayStation and now my laptop Bluetooth won’t pick it up and ds4 does not work what do I do
@@misa_marcus1953 i figured it out. Go to the settings tab in DS4, then click on control panel. It'll show up there and you'll be good even if it doesn't show in the main tab.

Zip functionality is present in XP+, you don't need another program (tho I recommend WinRAR - not free but you can use it free forever, nothing wrong with 7zip either)

what version you're using? the one from ds4windows site or the one from ryochan7 site? the original ds4windows site no longer updates so that probably points to a dead link and thats why the download fails

I just turned my PC on and if you look in the devices and printers it showed the controller there but s yellow cursor by it if that's what you have unplug the controller from PC and put back in it will say press yes coz its found the controller again it installs automatically by windows saying its setting it up look in device / printers via control panel and it should show the ds4 controller and Xbox 360 controller if it shows the Xbox 360 controller together it will work .make sure you have downloaded ds4 software from site .and install ds4 driver make sure controller is hidden in ds4 settings .if I can get a picture to you IL send you the picture from my PC to show you what it looks like .buy I don't know how send it to you. This is for windows 10 .any other should be the same..but not sure .IL try help any one I can but remember one thing if you get it working. When you unplug the PS4 controller from PC .it should work if it's back on again .if not after all that I've mentioned just unplug controller and put back in again it should be OK with a blue light on controller .text me if stuck. I can get my ps4 controller connected to the DS4Windows program via bluetooth and I've got VDX (GPD Win Edition) installed as well. VDX also shows my controller is connected but I can't get the PS4 controller to actually function in the PS Remote Play app on my Windows 10 computer. Ideas on this?
I used to be able to play Warzone with my PS4 controller, but my friends and I wanted to play GTA 5 and GTA 5 wasn't recognizing my PS4 controller so I had to install DS4 Windows. Now that I try to play Warzone, my PS4 controller doesn't work anymore. hey all, i had some issues with pretty much every piece of software available for PS4 and PS3 controllers. I had everything working at one point but for some reason i couldn't get it back. No idea why tbh. BUT i did find Keysticks. it actually can turn your controller into a keyboard and you can map the keys to the controller. It took a bit to get the config down but after a good 10-15 min i got it all working about 95% close to perfect. I only say that because some key combos are a bit off like holding down a jump key but i been playin some Metroid Prime and i havent had any issues with Keysticks like i have with motioninjoy, DS3, DS4, DS4Windows etc. Just another alt if you guys are still having issues via troubleshooting
Is there any way to re-map what the touchpad does? On PS4 the touchpad opens the map but on DS4Windows, it only works as a PC mouse, that's not what I want. 😅

The bluetooth is on an everything? Try resetting the controller with the button on the back before trying to pair it again. Its that hole under the lightbar. Press a paperclip in there for 6 seconds.

Good tutorial! But: I can klick on the desktop and folders with my Ds4 as mouse, but as soon as I start an App (CallofDuty1 on PC) then the Ds4 stops functioning as mouse. Why? Also: I did tick the box "launch with app" and selected it, but still does not work.

Download the 360 software and the do4 the Xbox controller shows up in your hardware devices via control panel mine works now
@@donkeybalz5227 down load Xbox 360 software and install the do4. Software as instructed make sure you hide the controller or it doesn't work
make sure to use a proper usb cable not a cheap charging one as they don't let the controllers connect, needs good data transfer

I can get my ps4 controller connected to the DS4Windows program via bluetooth and I've got VDX (GPD Win Edition) installed as well. VDX also shows my controller is connected but I can't get the PS4 controller to actually function in the PS Remote Play app on my Windows 10 computer. Ideas on this?

in the bottom right it says start click it and it should show the controller

I used to be able to play Warzone with my PS4 controller, but my friends and I wanted to play GTA 5 and GTA 5 wasn't recognizing my PS4 controller so I had to install DS4 Windows. Now that I try to play Warzone, my PS4 controller doesn't work anymore. It shows that it's connected and that I can change it from keyboard & mouse to Controller but none of the buttons work except the PS4 touchpad. Please help! Thank you in advance

hey all, i had some issues with pretty much every piece of software available for PS4 and PS3 controllers. I had everything working at one point but for some reason i couldn't get it back. No idea why tbh. BUT i did find Keysticks. it actually can turn your controller into a keyboard and you can map the keys to the controller. It took a bit to get the config down but after a good 10-15 min i got it all working about 95% close to perfect. I only say that because some key combos are a bit off like holding down a jump key but i been playin some Metroid Prime and i havent had any issues with Keysticks like i have with motioninjoy, DS3, DS4, DS4Windows etc. Just another alt if you guys are still having issues via troubleshooting

Is there any way to re-map what the touchpad does? On PS4 the touchpad opens the map but on DS4Windows, it only works as a PC mouse, that's not what I want. 😅

If you downloaded the DS4 before, it won't show up because you already have it but if it's not, Idk hahaha

The bluetooth is on an everything? Try resetting the controller with the button on the back before trying to pair it again. Its that hole under the lightbar. Press a paperclip in there for 6 seconds.
My controller doesn't get read by DS4.
Try downloading Xbox 360. Software. I did and the controller shows up that's the one that reads the PS4 controller

Good tutorial! But: I can klick on the desktop and folders with my Ds4 as mouse, but as soon as I start an App (CallofDuty1 on PC) then the Ds4 stops functioning as mouse. Why?

change your default audio in the audio tab, to your headphones instead of the controller
