Growing up we were very poor. For Christmas one year, my mom, who worked 3 jobs, stayed up late at night to crochet barbie doll clothes for mine and my sisters barbie dolls. We loved them.
my mom used to sew cute little outfits for me when I was little and she'd save the scraps and make matching doll clothes as gifts.. and those were so so special.
Everyone 13yrs and up deserves an allowance, Personal chores, and most importantly Privacy. She should not be buying neveah panties and recording it. Cameras all over that house, sound depressing
Unfortunately, (like Alicia) these kids probably think that having cool, expensive items will make them popular or somehow make up for a lack of personality. These kids aren’t being taught that it’s someone’s CHARACTER that matters, not their expensive shoes.

Damn. Here I am a single working mom of 3 boys. I am over the top excited that I was able to buy each of them a bike for Xmas this year. I can't wait to see the excitement on their faces. They appreciate things and they are not spoiled. And that makes me proud.
I’m sure the DD kids must all have bikes ( great way to keep fit) but you never see them in them just a huge pile in the garage. Then you have my child who felt bad for other kids and started a toy drive at the age of 6 and over the past 3 years donated over 3,000 toys. And was excited that he got a Pokémon stuffed animal and was completely content if that was his only gift. Thankful for my appreciative caring kid!
My 14yo had to have 5hrs of volunteer time for health class. It also counts towards the 20 hours needed for graduation. She never stopped. She did the 20 hrs by halloween. She's still going every Wednesday. I am so proud of her.
My son is like this. I basically have to drag any gift requests out of him. I will say that because my son never asks for anything, i will sometimes offer expensive gift ideas to him and if he says that sounds nice, i will get it. In my defense, it's hard not to want to go all out when i really don't buy him anything year-round besides his birthday or christmas because he never wants anything and he doesn't like shopping. I didn't even work on that with him, it was just in him naturally. I never even had to teach him to share when he was little. He always shared well, would play the games other kids wanted to play, during games he would let the other kids choose the characters first, i would even catch him giving away toys all the time. There was a kid that he would ride bikes with and the kid always wanted to swap bikes when they were out because my sons was significantly nicer than his. My son had no issue with that and would swap every time. I had to remind my son that it's ok for him to use his own bike and not swap sometimes but he said he really didn't care what bike they each rode. I honestly don't know how i got so lucky with him.
I could buy something for $5 and I’d still be hiding it under my seat if I have to go in to another store. I can’t imagine leaving $14k worth of stuff in my car like that.

Never heard of that saying and no way do grandparents get to spoil their grand kids. The wishes of the parents need to be respected. My mil tried that and it was quickly squashed. I didn't want to raise my boys to be materialistic. Spoil the grandkids with love and attention, with goods, def NOT. One can't buy love.
I watched a few minutes of her shopping insanity because I wanted to see what all the hype was about. Needless to say, I was totally disgusted with her greed, especially considering this has been a hard couple of years for many people. When I was young my mom always brushed out my hair..bought me acne medicine..anythi g she could do to make me feel better. Of course once I hit 12 years old she handed me the brush but watched intently. I now..at the tender age of 70..brush my hair every single morning. I also had to put toothpaste on my own toothbrush. She even does that for them.

Omg I couldn't get a quarter out of my mother I Couldn't imagine been give a credit card number or anything like that I was told if I wanted something I had to work for it but u know what it taught me to respect what is given to me and how hard u have to work just to survive I have never given my kids access to my banking cards they all have jobs even though my kids r now grown up they all understand and appreciate the the fact that they have to work and that nothing is handed to them and they have never come to me for help with there bills unlike some people children who rely on there parents for financial support and them being dependent 9n there parents this come from people giving there kids to much stuff they don't need and not teaching them they can't have everything they want

My husband and I recently got all brand new furniture and I’m pretty sure our furniture lady had the easiest customers in us and made so much money off of us. Hubs and I were cracking jokes about it when we left. Hahaha. Glad we were able to get her paid! Hahaha

i have had 2 phones over 7 years and have only lost it one time and that was because I was paying attention to my little cousin and put it down to help her and I was able to get it back instead of buying another and the only reason I got another phone was because my old one would litterly not turn on buying kids all this stuff teaches them that things don't have value and they don't understand the consequences of losing something expensive.

This is absolutely insanity. She just spent more in the mall in ONE day shopping than what my husband makes in SIX MONTHS. I can understand getting your kids things they want but not $400+ chains for an 8 year old and getting them the newest phones/iPads as they come out. I will never understand.

When I got my boys a playstation 4 a few years ago, my son literally cried with joy. I caught it on camera. Not because I vlog, but because I was recording them opening gifts on Christmas morning for our own memories. I wasn't expecting that reaction, but he had me in tears because of how grateful he was. I will never forget that Christmas. I grew up in foster care and aged out. I'm thankful to be able to provide my children with the things they have, yet I don't over spoil them and make sure I instill values/morals into them. I remind them that being a good person is what's most important.
Same . This year we got our 11 year old a ps5. It’s really for the whole family , but he’s the biggest “gamer “ so we mostly got it for him . Also got my 15 year old daughter her very first phone . An iPhone 14. They both were BAWLING and ran to me and their dad hugging us. Have it all in camera for memories. They were sooo thankful!! We worked hard to give them a special Christmas.

I remember when my nephew was 10yrs old. He told my sister and brother-in-law, he needed these $150. Tennis shoes. And they told him, that if he wanted them, that he'd have to work for half the money. And they'd pay half the money. When he reached that amount. They said ok, lets go get your shoes. She makes me think of people that win the lottery and later go bankrupt because they blow all of their money, leaving none for savings. I worked in healthcare during COVID and got an iPad and AirPods as a gift for getting through (and for other things). It was so amazing finally being able to get something like that. I had wanted one forever. I hate that they won't ever feel that way again, receiving gifts like this all the time. And if they are older, and never have money like this again, they will always be disappointed.

The only way I’d get this logic is between twins. I’m a twin and a couple birthdays or Christmases when we were little my parents did double up. But that happened rarely, and definitely not with expensive stuff.

I totally agree the kids in temp foster care are so spoilt that it effects their relationship with their biological parent/s. I've seen it happen. A lady I know had a bad car accident and was in hospital for 9 months She is a really good mom. Her 2 children are now spoilt nightmares and constantly push her for materialistic things. She suffers from depression now because she can't give them what the foster family did.
Christmas morning is going to be an overwhelming disaster for those kids. It’s easy to spend a lot of money on them. Not easy to spend time and make magical memories with that many kids.
Plus they will have a camera in their faces, so she can post about it. She needs to feel validated for buying them all this stuff. She keeps calling N her daughter, but sad they can't take any of this stuff home with them, when they are reunited with their mom.

My parents came from severe poverty but made it and now we are pretty well off. I was always taught to not show how expensive my stuff was, to not exaggerate the worth of my stuff because I can get robbed because of that and you never know when you might loose everything and people will be bitterly happy about your downfall especially when you brag too much.

Absolutely agree with you Josh! When you have less you appreciate more.. As a single Mom of 3 boy's often times they got an outfit or pajamas and 2 toy's. But we had an awesome dinner on Christmas and snacks and Cocoa and Christmas movies. And we were together,warm,safe and happy. My boy's are grown now with families. They are hardworking and very humble. They are teaching their children the same good values..
I'm the youngest of 5 and we grew up quite poor but Christmas was always amazing. My parents made sure we had a few gifts each, sometimes more than that and it was such a surprise and the best feeling ever waking up not knowing what we were getting. Presents stopped when I was about 13, and my parents ended up just getting a few DVDs that we hadn't seen before (no money for the cinemas), with some of our favourite snacks and even that was much appreciated and made me so happy. It really taught us to appreciate what we had.

When I was maybe 13, I started making the deviled eggs for family get togethers, and that Christmas my Granny gave me her cut glass egg tray that was a wedding gift from when her and my Papa got married...I still have it and use it for every holiday!!
I have a 6 year old who still believes in Santa, and I make sure that her “big” gift is from me and little cheaper ones are from Santa. I remember going to school after Christmas and everyone being like “Santa brought me XYZ” and I was thinking… I got underwear and crayons lol. Santa didn’t like me I guess 😂
I feel like she teaches the kids that items are worth more than memories. Trust me, I wouldn't be able to remember what I got for my birthday a couple years ago, but I can definitely tell you who I spent it with and the good, fun memories we made. It also teaches the kids that life is always going to be handed to them, when it almost never will.

So Christmas wasn't going to happen. I was blessed with a couple of friends helping me out this year by sending either money or presents for my kids! I am forever grateful for them! I purchased the other day some Nikes which usually cost 80 dollars, and I jumped for joy when I saw the price drop to $40!!! so happy my parents taught me the value of the dollar lol.

I think the older kids have figured out how to manipulate the system. They ask for anything and everything they even think of having knowing Alicia will buy it for them. This honestly so gross. As a family of 5, my husband and I both work full time jobs and we own our own business. We work so hard and this year we are struggling to get Christmas presents. Growing up we were very poor. For Christmas one year, my mom, who worked 3 jobs, stayed up late at night to crochet barbie doll clothes for mine and my sisters barbie dolls. We loved them.

My 14yo had to have 5hrs of volunteer time for health class. It also counts towards the 20 hours needed for graduation. She never stopped. She did the 20 hrs by halloween. She's still going every Wednesday. I am so proud of her.
My son is like this. I basically have to drag any gift requests out of him. I will say that because my son never asks for anything, i will sometimes offer expensive gift ideas to him and if he says that sounds nice, i will get it. In my defense, it's hard not to want to go all out when i really don't buy him anything year-round besides his birthday or christmas because he never wants anything and he doesn't like shopping. I didn't even work on that with him, it was just in him naturally. I never even had to teach him to share when he was little. He always shared well, would play the games other kids wanted to play, during games he would let the other kids choose the characters first, i would even catch him giving away toys all the time. There was a kid that he would ride bikes with and the kid always wanted to swap bikes when they were out because my sons was significantly nicer than his. My son had no issue with that and would swap every time. I had to remind my son that it's ok for him to use his own bike and not swap sometimes but he said he really didn't care what bike they each rode. I honestly don't know how i got so lucky with him.

When I was young my mom always brushed out my hair..bought me acne medicine..anythi g she could do to make me feel better. Of course once I hit 12 years old she handed me the brush but watched intently. I now..at the tender age of 70..brush my hair every single morning. I also had to put toothpaste on my own toothbrush. She even does that for them.

i have had 2 phones over 7 years and have only lost it one time and that was because I was paying attention to my little cousin and put it down to help her and I was able to get it back instead of buying another and the only reason I got another phone was because my old one would litterly not turn on buying kids all this stuff teaches them that things don't have value and they don't understand the consequences of losing something expensive.

When I got my boys a playstation 4 a few years ago, my son literally cried with joy. I caught it on camera. Not because I vlog, but because I was recording them opening gifts on Christmas morning for our own memories. I wasn't expecting that reaction, but he had me in tears because of how grateful he was.
I will never forget that Christmas. I grew up in foster care and aged out. I'm thankful to be able to provide my children with the things they have, yet I don't over spoil them and make sure I instill values/morals into them. I remind them that being a good person is what's most important.

I worked in healthcare during COVID and got an iPad and AirPods as a gift for getting through (and for other things). It was so amazing finally being able to get something like that. I had wanted one forever. I hate that they won't ever feel that way again, receiving gifts like this all the time. And if they are older, and never have money like this again, they will always be disappointed.

The only way I’d get this logic is between twins. I’m a twin and a couple birthdays or Christmases when we were little my parents did double up. But that happened rarely, and definitely not with expensive stuff.

I totally agree the kids in temp foster care are so spoilt that it effects their relationship with their biological parent/s. I've seen it happen. A lady I know had a bad car accident and was in hospital for 9 months She is a really good mom. Her 2 children are now spoilt nightmares and constantly push her for materialistic things. She suffers from depression now because she can't give them what the foster family did.

My parents came from severe poverty but made it and now we are pretty well off. I was always taught to not show how expensive my stuff was, to not exaggerate the worth of my stuff because I can get robbed because of that and you never know when you might loose everything and people will be bitterly happy about your downfall especially when you brag too much.

Absolutely agree with you Josh! When you have less you appreciate more.. As a single Mom of 3 boy's often times they got an outfit or pajamas and 2 toy's. But we had an awesome dinner on Christmas and snacks and Cocoa and Christmas movies. And we were together,warm,safe and happy. My boy's are grown now with families. They are hardworking and very humble. They are teaching their children the same good values..
I'm the youngest of 5 and we grew up quite poor but Christmas was always amazing. My parents made sure we had a few gifts each, sometimes more than that and it was such a surprise and the best feeling ever waking up not knowing what we were getting. Presents stopped when I was about 13, and my parents ended up just getting a few DVDs that we hadn't seen before (no money for the cinemas), with some of our favourite snacks and even that was much appreciated and made me so happy. It really taught us to appreciate what we had.
Has she explained why they don't buy a bigger more spacious home for the family? It can't be money.

I wouldn’t see the problem with that if she actually…cared for her kids. Most of the gifts my mom gets me and my sister are things we didn’t ask for (plus the things we did) but my mom knows us like the back of her hand, she’s a great gift giver. Every year, we open gifts we didn’t know we wanted but she thought of. Alicia, however, seems to do it because she wants to spend more money and get people talking 🙄

I completely agree on your opinion of poor/rich Christmas!! When I was maybe 13, I started making the deviled eggs for family get togethers, and that Christmas my Granny gave me her cut glass egg tray that was a wedding gift from when her and my Papa got married...I still have it and use it for every holiday!!

I feel like she teaches the kids that items are worth more than memories. Trust me, I wouldn't be able to remember what I got for my birthday a couple years ago, but I can definitely tell you who I spent it with and the good, fun memories we made. It also teaches the kids that life is always going to be handed to them, when it almost never will.

Her showing off all of the expensive items she buys and all of the groceries she buys then wastes, truly hurts my heart as a single mom. My rent went up, and it's between rent/groceries or Christmas. So Christmas wasn't going to happen. I was blessed with a couple of friends helping me out this year by sending either money or presents for my kids! I am forever grateful for them! But this woman makes me SO upset with how much she wastes and how much money she is wasting. It hurts to see the lack of love and attention she gives these kiddos 💔😔

I can't wait to watch this. I saw her short on what she got and honestly it made me sick. Those kids don't need all of that expensive shit. 12 ipads?! Why can't the younger kids share? Why do they each need their own? I mean. I'm glad those kids will have a great Christmas. But it pisses me off how much money she spends so willy nilly. My son is 5 and most of his gifts are from dollar tree this year because of how hard things have been lately. And I already know I could give him just one small present and he would be grateful for it. My son may not get what he asked for this year but I know he won't complain. And that just gives me conformation that I'm raising him right. It's not about the money and the gifts, it's about the time with your family and being greatful for what you do get. Maybe if she taught her kids that then she wouldn't feel the need to buy their love.

I think the older kids have figured out how to manipulate the system. They ask for anything and everything they even think of having knowing Alicia will buy it for them. This honestly so gross. As a family of 5, my husband and I both work full time jobs and we own our own business. We work so hard and this year we are struggling to get Christmas presents. Of course I would love to give my kids the world, but even if I could afford this I wouldn’t do this! She is teaching them to expect everything and appreciate nothing.
