I’m an adopted kid and my mother shopped exactly like this. Using the food as a weapon. They both drank only my dad developed the worse habits. I often went to bed hungry and watched my family eat due to “misbehavior”. I would be beaten if I ate food from those cabinets. She had her own mini fridge in her room with sodas and candies I’ve never laid my own eyes on. She would destroy my things if I would eat granola bars or anything labeled “weight watchers”. She was a special Ed teacher and principal and still is today. The only reason I know it’s not normal is because of you.. everything you say makes me mad. Thanks for listening

My husband used to work in a cereal factory. The UK and Canada are smart for banning food dyes and added “vitamins”. Red 40, yellow 5, etc all cause sooo many issues in kids. Wish the US would ban them too!

She literally threw away 3 cans of croissant rolls because they were expired. Went to her pantry & brought out 3 more. She just shops to shop. I honestly think she has a shopping problem. She shops for her chickens the same way. She bought like 6 bags of meal worms & I think 2 or 3 bags of chicken feed. It’s crazy.
I am at the plastic utensils. And all I can say is that everyone deserves to eat off of a nice plate and have proper, non plastic, utensils to eat with. When I got on my feet and wasn't living out of my vehicle, the thing I was most grateful was to set my place at my table. I cried cus it was the thing I had missed the most. To have a place at a table (even though I was alone) with a nice heavy ceramic plate and silverware.

Single use plastic was banned where we live in Australia. 👌 you can get disposable forks/plates/spoons but they are all paper or wooden and really are only for events like birthday parties. This is crazy that the US still allows this!
Yep! No longer can we buy single use plastic anything! Not even plastic straws, even fast food outlets have eliminated single use plastic straws and utensils... Plastic shopping bags are being phased out now too, back to reusable fabric or paper in supermarkets and department stores... it's a shame a country as big and populated as America can't do the same! Imagine how much would be saved from going into landfill!!!!!
@@HyperWolf they are delicious. About 900 calories a piece and we proof them and bake them but they are made outside of Costco from a wholesale place. They come in frozen in 20 lb cases and we tray them up, thaw them to 55 degrees then put them in the proof box for about 45 minutes (or until they double in size - from 1 inch to 2 inches) then bake them for 20 minutes. They are fantastic. Costcos been using these croissants for almost 30 years. Always a solid buy 👍😊
In landfills when things get piled on top of eachother is stops the oxygen getting in which is needed for things to decompose. Chances are nothing is fully decomposing. It’s so sad

I’ll say we definitely use paper and plastic for larger get togethers, but I’ve never met anyone who uses them on a regular basis. Please don’t confuse most Americans with the disgusting amount of waste this family goes through.
I use them more often, but I’m disabled and can’t do my own dishes. She has 12 kids who could be given chores. Like literally she has so many older kids that they could each be given a single day of the week that they need to do the dishes once, and she’d still have kids doing nothing. Even disabled (born with it) I still had to do my own laundry and I could barely get out of bed half the time.

Those kids aren’t drinking that water. They’re grabbing a bottle, taking a couple of swigs, and leaving half empty bottle everywhere. That’s what was happening at my house and I’d end up pouring it into the plants. I finally had enough and ordered reusable bottles and a big filter container with a spout on Amazon and fill those. They were cheap enough that I don’t care if they get lost.
My kids were little, like 3+6 and we visited my dad and he was like “have a bottle of water kids!” And im like noooooooooo…. 10 minutes later there was about 24 half drunk bottles of water everywhere. Lol. My mom had to deal with 6 kids and no dishwasher when she remarried and the CUPS were insane, and we couldnt afford bottled and water bottles were a thing bicyclists had not regular people. So she found square quart bottles intended to sit in fridge and rummaged through bins in order to find 6 different colors and they all got sharpie name on bottle and color coded lids that sat along bottom of fridge door. We were responsible to keep them filled and clean, and cups were NEVER to be used for drinks. Lol. 30yrs later and i still remember our colors. She did the same for socks since white socks were required for PE and we had 4 girls and my mom all wearing same size socks. So everyone got sharpie dots on the toe of white socks and embroidery floss tags on non white socks. I was purple (bottle) and red (socks)
I did the math and if she used a fork and spoon for everyone for 3 meals each day for a year it would on average be 30660 plastic spoons and forks alone in one year 😅

The amount of disposable stuff she buys hurts me! Like we only buy reusable ziplock, straws & water bottles all eco-friendly too so seeing this kills me. We feel so guilty when we host a party like once every three months and we buy disposable plates and cups.
There is no need for that amount of tomato products!!!! We have a family of 4 and when we cook for our parents and extended family like cousins we use like 2 big ragus, 2 cans diced tomatoes, 2 pastes, and a few other things. It yields a massive amount and we have leftovers always to freeze!!!!
If my kids need to bring lunch for a school trip or outing we are not allowed to pack them chips, soda, candy or cakes. Only fruit, real food or something like yoghurt or a sandwich. All kids are fed a hot, organic meal in school for free and are not allowed to bring any unhealthy snacks at all. The crap she gets them is insane.
Josh ..You MUST try DOVE Chocolates. They are hands down the BEST Chocolate. So creamy. Also Lindt makes delicious Truffles if that's your thing. Not sure if you have either one of these in Canada, but you have to pick them up the next time you're in the States.
I agree, Dove is the best! I shared a square with my niece recently and told her she HAD to let it melt in her mouth and not scarf it down (as a 7 year old normally would). When it started to melt her eyes opened wide as she smiled a big front teeth missing smile. 😍

My two kids go through fruits and veggies weekly…I’m buying sometimes two to three bags or containers of some of them…and it takes us weeks to go through bagged or boxed snacks. It’s so sad that she thinks stocking up on cases of 36 packs of bars or chips is more important than fresh fruit and veggies.
Same! Three teenage sons in my house and we go through fruit and veggies like crazy. Sometimes our packaged snack get stale and thrown away because they actually prefer fruit and veg.

Laziness yes is American LOL We don't use paper bowls or plates or anything in my family unless its a party and whatever is left gets put in a cabinet for the next party LOL
I'm American, and I've never met a person/ family that doesn't use normal plates. Paper products are for picnics or children's birthday parties. It's so sad watching people just being lazy.

From watching other TH-cam videos, Lush is not alone in her use of paper plates and plastic utensils. Also when my cousin was in the US on a sports scholarship he lived with a family that only used them. He was looking forward to eating his food "off proper plates" when he got back to the UK. And he said he felt like he was "always on a picnic". They really looked after him, he loved his time there. Lush uses the dixie cups for the kids medicine. Every morning they get several new ones, she never reuses them. The very first time I watched a DD video I commented on her carbon footprint. She doesn't give a 💩about the 🌏 Smarties are the same here, everyone loves the orange one and now you can get tubes of only them.
Largely Americans do not use plastic and paper all the time. Most of us have dishwashers (ours uses only 2 gallons of water to wash a load of dishes). In general you might see paper products at large gatherings for things like for birthday cake.

UK stores have a tiny aisle with a few. But then I reminded myself of the population in the US compared to the UK. Even to celebrate just birthdays, that's lots of paper plates you need. The UK is catching up on our use of dishwashers, too.

Agreed! I have three teenage sons and we can go through six pounds of strawberries, a half dozen bananas and a whole watermelon within three days, for example. If her kids were eating the fruit, she could literally fill a cart and it could get eaten (between the 14 of them) before it went bad.
Exactly! If they are eating produce at all she would have A LOT more in her cart. I have 5 people in my house and a big box of strawberries like that would last maybe a couple days. There is no balance of fresh food and boxed food. It's clearly just there to make it look like she gives them anything but sugar. So sad.
Never heard of your channel before so I had to go back and really see what she was all about! My eyes are wide open now. I have only seen her grocery videos and present shopping videos and I'm not going to lie. I would love to be able to get this much for my kids. It would last me months and months. Of course I think any parent wants to spoil their kids but then I saw the grocery video the next week and then the next week and on and on and I started to wonder how in the heck is she going through it all!! I don't know of any other videos of hers so thanks for this eye opening experience.
I don’t know anyone in the UK that uses disposable cutlery and dishes. Such an odd concept. Our supermarkets sell disposable plates/cutlery in the party aisle but the packs are small. This is just crazy to me!

I've seen her use Dixie cups when she doles out the meds. I've always wondered why the hell doesn't she get normal pill dispensers that you refill...you know, like a NORMAL person would.
She has the refillable cases with names on. She used to refill them weekly and tell the world who was on what meds. Look for older videos. Then she used pour each persons morning meds into the cups with their names on and line them up! She stopped after many complaints about privacy. It was all for show and business.
We have 2 different fruit loops here in Australia now the bright ones which are yum and then there are the pale ones that have less sugar and colouring. We also have smarties and m&m I love our smarties

Yeah the plastic waste is crazy…and you actually can not recycle many products like that because of the food contamination can be hard to process at the recycling plant. If things like that are placed in a batch of recycling the whole batch ends up in the landfill because it’s too difficult for them to recycling to sort

She shops at Wegman’s SPECIFICALLY to spend more money. Almost everything she buys should be bought in bulk, yet she goes out of her way to get 10 packs of normal servings just to have a higher number at the bottom of the receipt.
Joshes face when he sees the butter bread, love it. 100% agree with you on how much plastic she buys, my husband and I do use paper plates from time to time, but no where near what she does. We also do use plastic water bottles but, when we empty one we refill it from the filtered water from the fridge, we use the same bottle for like 3-4 days before we use a new one.
We have 6 kids and 2 grand kids! We’d go bankrupt if we only used paper plates, silverware, paper towels, zip lock bags etc! We go through a fair amount of paper towel and zip lock bags but we’ve moved to hood quality water bottles, re usable snacks bags for school lunches etc. this is insane

I watch, Our Tribe of Many, who have 11 children. She sticks, as close to her budget as possible. She does a monthly grocery haul and the only things she gets mid month are fruits and veggies. She spends as much in one month for 13 people as Alicia does in a week.

I did a european POV comment on their livestyle. I asked the family why the grown up " kids" sleep together in one room and they obviously dont have enough rooms for each kid but have a gigantic living room and kitchen....in mycountry you rather sleep in the living room to make space so kids can have seperated rooms. And we plan our kitchen and livngs rooms way smaller and have more kids rooms. We have 5 bedrooms 2 baths in 160m2 ....We need much storage for school supplies and books , so two kids in one room (10-12 m2) would be cramped. My husband used to work in a cereal factory. The UK and Canada are smart for banning food dyes and added “vitamins”. Red 40, yellow 5, etc all cause sooo many issues in kids. Wish the US would ban them too!

When I got on my feet and wasn't living out of my vehicle, the thing I was most grateful was to set my place at my table. I cried cus it was the thing I had missed the most. To have a place at a table (even though I was alone) with a nice heavy ceramic plate and silverware.

Single use plastic was banned where we live in Australia. 👌 you can get disposable forks/plates/spoons but they are all paper or wooden and really are only for events like birthday parties. This is crazy that the US still allows this!

@@HyperWolf they are delicious. About 900 calories a piece and we proof them and bake them but they are made outside of Costco from a wholesale place. They come in frozen in 20 lb cases and we tray them up, thaw them to 55 degrees then put them in the proof box for about 45 minutes (or until they double in size - from 1 inch to 2 inches) then bake them for 20 minutes.
They are fantastic. Costcos been using these croissants for almost 30 years.

In landfills when things get piled on top of eachother is stops the oxygen getting in which is needed for things to decompose. Chances are nothing is fully decomposing. It’s so sad

I use them more often, but I’m disabled and can’t do my own dishes. She has 12 kids who could be given chores. Like literally she has so many older kids that they could each be given a single day of the week that they need to do the dishes once, and she’d still have kids doing nothing. Even disabled (born with it) I still had to do my own laundry and I could barely get out of bed half the time.
I bet you there are tons of unfinished water bottles laying around the house that get thrown away because they don’t know who they belong to.

Those kids aren’t drinking that water. They’re grabbing a bottle, taking a couple of swigs, and leaving half empty bottle everywhere. That’s what was happening at my house and I’d end up pouring it into the plants. I finally had enough and ordered reusable bottles and a big filter container with a spout on Amazon and fill those. They were cheap enough that I don’t care if they get lost.
Wonder what happened to the $130 water bottles she purchased a while back?
Or at least put their name on the bottle in sharpie. So every one drinks all of their bottle!
My kids were little, like 3+6 and we visited my dad and he was like “have a bottle of water kids!” And im like noooooooooo…. 10 minutes later there was about 24 half drunk bottles of water everywhere. Lol.
My mom had to deal with 6 kids and no dishwasher when she remarried and the CUPS were insane, and we couldnt afford bottled and water bottles were a thing bicyclists had not regular people. So she found square quart bottles intended to sit in fridge and rummaged through bins in order to find 6 different colors and they all got sharpie name on bottle and color coded lids that sat along bottom of fridge door. We were responsible to keep them filled and clean, and cups were NEVER to be used for drinks. Lol. 30yrs later and i still remember our colors. She did the same for socks since white socks were required for PE and we had 4 girls and my mom all wearing same size socks. So everyone got sharpie dots on the toe of white socks and embroidery floss tags on non white socks. I was purple (bottle) and red (socks)
The best thing I did when my kids were growing up was to get a water cooler. The kids would drink alot of water if it was cold.

There is no need for that amount of tomato products!!!! We have a family of 4 and when we cook for our parents and extended family like cousins we use like 2 big ragus, 2 cans diced tomatoes, 2 pastes, and a few other things. It yields a massive amount and we have leftovers always to freeze!!!!
Get a large Berkey water filter system. Look it up. The filtered water that comes out of the tap is amazing!

If my kids need to bring lunch for a school trip or outing we are not allowed to pack them chips, soda, candy or cakes. Only fruit, real food or something like yoghurt or a sandwich. All kids are fed a hot, organic meal in school for free and are not allowed to bring any unhealthy snacks at all. The crap she gets them is insane.

My two kids go through fruits and veggies weekly…I’m buying sometimes two to three bags or containers of some of them…and it takes us weeks to go through bagged or boxed snacks. It’s so sad that she thinks stocking up on cases of 36 packs of bars or chips is more important than fresh fruit and veggies.

Also when my cousin was in the US on a sports scholarship he lived with a family that only used them. He was looking forward to eating his food "off proper plates" when he got back to the UK. And he said he felt like he was "always on a picnic". They really looked after him, he loved his time there. Lush uses the dixie cups for the kids medicine. Every morning they get several new ones, she never reuses them. The very first time I watched a DD video I commented on her carbon footprint. She doesn't give a 💩about the 🌏

Largely Americans do not use plastic and paper all the time. Most of us have dishwashers (ours uses only 2 gallons of water to wash a load of dishes). In general you might see paper products at large gatherings for things like for birthday cake.

Agreed! I have three teenage sons and we can go through six pounds of strawberries, a half dozen bananas and a whole watermelon within three days, for example. If her kids were eating the fruit, she could literally fill a cart and it could get eaten (between the 14 of them) before it went bad.

Never heard of your channel before so I had to go back and really see what she was all about! My eyes are wide open now. I have only seen her grocery videos and present shopping videos and I'm not going to lie. I would love to be able to get this much for my kids. It would last me months and months. Of course I think any parent wants to spoil their kids but then I saw the grocery video the next week and then the next week and on and on and I started to wonder how in the heck is she going through it all!! I've seen her use Dixie cups when she doles out the meds. I've always wondered why the hell doesn't she get normal pill dispensers that you refill...you know, like a NORMAL person would.

She has the refillable cases with names on. She used to refill them weekly and tell the world who was on what meds. Look for older videos. Then she used pour each persons morning meds into the cups with their names on and line them up! She stopped after many complaints about privacy. It was all for show and business.
We have 2 different fruit loops here in Australia now the bright ones which are yum and then there are the pale ones that have less sugar and colouring. We also have smarties and m&m I love our smarties
You are such an amazing person, and a genuine dude. Apologizing for a “wrongdoing” is a big deal. As adults, we all know that people find apologizing to be very difficult. Yeah the plastic waste is crazy…and you actually can not recycle many products like that because of the food contamination can be hard to process at the recycling plant. If things like that are placed in a batch of recycling the whole batch ends up in the landfill because it’s too difficult for them to recycling to sort
🚨🚨Josh please be careful with leaving water in your car especially in the summer!! As it gets hot something happens with the plastic and the stuff thats in the plastic will get into the water.. And its definitely not safe to consume plastic! I guess they say to keep a mini cooler in your car for the water so it doesnt get heated up! So please be careful with the water Josh!! 🚨🚨

She shops at Wegman’s SPECIFICALLY to spend more money. Almost everything she buys should be bought in bulk, yet she goes out of her way to get 10 packs of normal servings just to have a higher number at the bottom of the receipt.
Joshes face when he sees the butter bread, love it. 100% agree with you on how much plastic she buys, my husband and I do use paper plates from time to time, but no where near what she does. We also do use plastic water bottles but, when we empty one we refill it from the filtered water from the fridge, we use the same bottle for like 3-4 days before we use a new one.
We have 6 kids and 2 grand kids! We’d go bankrupt if we only used paper plates, silverware, paper towels, zip lock bags etc! We go through a fair amount of paper towel and zip lock bags but we’ve moved to hood quality water bottles, re usable snacks bags for school lunches etc. this is insane
I grew up in a family with 8 kids. The few times we bought ziploc bags, we would wash them out and reuse them many times!

I watch, Our Tribe of Many, who have 11 children. She sticks, as close to her budget as possible. She does a monthly grocery haul and the only things she gets mid month are fruits and veggies. She spends as much in one month for 13 people as Alicia does in a week.
The amount of money she wastes upsets me. So many people are hungry, going without, and etc. And the heartbreaking thing is she doesn't care.
She also just threw away lunch meat. Josh called her out on it and she said it's ok it wasn't much. Completely full. And more bought.
@@aramat2006 it’s not on her to make sure people don’t go hungry, but she’s INCREDIBLY tone deaf to the fact that grocery prices continue to climb and food insecurity is at an all time high for a lot of people. It’s just insensitive and almost like she’s throwing it in all of our faces that she can afford to frivolously spend on groceries. She knows what she’s doing and it’s disgusting.

Here in the Netherlands we pay een deposit for our plastic bottles of water , 30 cents for the water and 15 cent for the bottle, so we get our 15 cents back when we return them for recycling…… also for cans of soda

I did a european POV comment on their livestyle. I asked the family why the grown up " kids" sleep together in one room and they obviously dont have enough rooms for each kid but have a gigantic living room and kitchen....in mycountry you rather sleep in the living room to make space so kids can have seperated rooms. And we plan our kitchen and livngs rooms way smaller and have more kids rooms. We have 5 bedrooms 2 baths in 160m2 ....We need much storage for school supplies and books , so two kids in one room (10-12 m2) would be cramped.
