Toppo flicking just a spec of hakai at Frieza was one of my favorite parts.
I feel like what makes that scene was that it was done against Frieza. Had he flexed that kind of power against anybody else, it wouldn't have hit quite the same. But to do it on Frieza, showing that much of a power difference worked great.

So about Hakai. It erases all it touches. Matter, energy, soul, time you name it. So what Vegeta did was he just put more energy than Toppo's Hakai could eat through basically cancelling out both his ki and the Hakai. But do remember that Hakai can destroy exponential more that itself so Vegeta had to put a insane amount of power. Thus the final explosion.

Frieza rise again after received hakai also one of the DBZ callback after being hit by Goku spirit bomb during namek saga. There gonna be a lot homage after this
I'm still a bit iffy on using the final atonement like this. Yeah its obviously cool to see again but on the other hand its purley a nostalgia bait and it doesn't even kill him with the only excuse being 'he's stronger'.
The final flash would have been far better fit for the moment tbh.
Also the "I fight for" part doesn't really help
I feel like him being stronger would have nothing to do with it, since the whole idea of that technique is to pump every ounce of his energy into one massive explosion. So if he's stronger, then that would just mean he'd have more energy to pump into it, not that he would have enough power to exceed having none left afterwards.
A much more logical explanation would be that he learned from using the technique before, and used that knowledge to hold onto just a sliver of power so it wouldn't kill him. Releasing 99% of his power, rather than 100%.

@gurvmlk it didn't blow him up in the Buu Saga either he crumbled away which I took as his body being unable to handle the energy release (like it was so much it burned him into ashes).
@@specialnewb9821 It didn't cause him to explode, but it essentially drained him of all of his energy. Leaving nothing behind but a husk. In this case though, he was able to hold onto just enough energy to prevent that from happening a second time.
Not all destroyers are equal in strength, goku and vegeta are stronger than the weakest one but no where near the strongest. Also beerus isn’t scared of ultra instinct it’s a shock as even he hasn’t mastered it yet and he’s millions of years old so to see goku achieve it is crazy.

this whole fight in this episode is 1-2 minutes, so these guys could talk faster than what we are seeing.. these guys literally rapping while fighting and they could still understand each other
The talking has always been the weirdest thing for me when it comes to time in Dragon Ball. I can fully understand the fighting footage being slowed down for the sake of the show being watchable, but the idea of talking being the same way has always felt weird to me.

What Jiren did was basically a "kiai from the eyes". Goku did the same thing when he buried Vegeta. In OG Dragon Ball, Tenshinhan blew away Tao Pai Pai's Super Dodonpa with nothing but a kiai.

Vegeta was disgusted by Top throwing away his own ideals for power, because Vegeta once did that himself when he submitted to Babadi for power. This episode is him reaffirming what he learned from that experience and rejecting that kind of selfish thinking in himself by taking it out on Top, and using the Final Atonement technique is how he ends up "resolving" both situations.
I really do wish that Toppo had been the final "antagonist" and not Jiren. Toppo is a far more interesting and compelling character where as Jiren has the personality of a plank of wood. He sucks as a character, he's so boring.
I also want to say how much I love Frieza in this series, his character and the voice acting for him are so good. I always liked Frieza but this version of him is just fantastic.
