Whoever mentioned Chris Ayers's passing missed some context. Ayers died in 2021, but he had been the English voice of Frieza since Kai in the mid-late 2000s which includes RoF. Not sure what voice Jack could be thinking of aside from the Abridged voice.
Damian Mills voiced him for Kakarot. Chris had taken a step back because of his condition by that point.

What's funnier is that this movie was receieved really well until DBS Broly came out. DBS Broly raised the standards for what a good modern DB movie looks like, and it made a lot of people start to hate Resurection F.
Piccolo's voice actor also voices Vegeta and shenron and a bunch of other original dragon Ball characters, he is also the English voice for all might English voice for Zoro, and the English voice for elfman from fairy tail

OG Dragon Ball shows off Roshi's fighting capabilities pretty often. He could always go buff and he's the first person to use the Kamehameha in the series. I hope you watch it one day because it's great, arguably even better than Z in some ways

They explained it better in the anime version of the movie. Since Goku's body learned and adapted from his fight with Beerus he was able to tap back into the Super Saiyan God form and then go a level above that. The Super Saiyan God version of Super Saiyan

Just to clarify, Chris Ayres had been the voice of Frieza since DBZ Kai with some interchangeability with Daman Mills who voiced the character in Kakarot.
Also yeah Roshi can buff up. That's his Max Power form that he uses in Dragonball.
Just for clarification: When this film came out the idea was that Goku’s base form absorbed the God forms power, so despite looking like base, Goku was effectively using SSJ God. And by extension. 4th form Frieza is at the same level.

When writing out ideas for the movie, Toriyama was listening to this song called "F" from the Maximum the Hormone band. The song itself is a satire of real life worldwide neo-totalitarism using mostly Frieza Saga references.
Toriyama had then the idea of reviving Frieza for this movie, and that's how he came up with "Resurrection 'F'".
(and actually Japanese for "resurrection" is "fukkatsu", so now "F" can both stand for "Frieza" and "resurrection")
Oh and Toei openly used their song for that movie since it has Dragon Ball copyright.
also the title "Fukkatsu no F" could be interpreted as "F [is] for Resurrection", although technically translated it would've been "R [is] for Resurrection"... accurate translating is hard sometimes.
You got to know Damien Mill as Frieza’s voice actor in Kakarot. But Chris Ayers’ (the voice actor from kai and Super and everything after 2010) was is his actually voice actor until he passed away recently. Damien Mills was his understudy and stepped into the roll for Kakarot. Chris Ayers has a bit more range and flexibility to his voice, but Mills does an incredible job

In case you're wondering, Freeza and Beerus have met each other before years ago, and both got along fairly well with one other due to their mutual love of Destruction. However, one day Freeza went to far and angered Beerus, resulting in a fight and Beerus easily defeating him. He's been scared of Beerus ever since.

For clarification since Jack's first experience with Frieza was DBZ: Kakarot, this is the late Chris Ayers who voiced Frieza from 2009 to 2019. He passed away in 2021 at the age of 56 years, following years of complications from pulmonary disease and is sorely missed to this day.
All appearances of Frieza since 2019 (including Kakarot) are voiced by Daman Mills, Ayers' understudy through the production of Dragon Ball Super.
2:55 To answer your question the band and song name is called F by Maximum the Hormone . A very popular band in Japan. You would also know them for their OP of Death Note's What's Up People?! way back in the day. There is a back story of rumors from what I recall when the movie was released , take with a grain of salt. F the song was released way before the movie, was also more or less a tribute song the the pink ruler. So it is said that Akira Toriyama was trying to make a follow up to the success of battle of the gods and F started playing at some point, which in turn made him think of Freeza because of the lyrics. So during production of the movie they had Toi come after MtH because of F the song, but settled on a deal saying "let us use your song during the movie and we be good.".
If you haven't done so already I would highly recommend watching their music videos, even if you don't like rock/metal. Just because they are entertaining enough as is. With that said they also have a style that makes you know that it is MtH when it plays.

I mean they kinda do. Outside fighting they usually have their normal clothes. And as the Super story progressed we had some changes. Both of them had different clothes for the Galactic Patrol arc, then Vegeta used the teleporting aliens gear after he trained with them. And recently both of their outfits got updated with the God trainee earrings, as Vegeta learned how to use Destruction power.
@@mjm3091 Take this for example. Krillin used to have multiple casual outfits for every arc he was in during Z. Battle of Gods gave him the green outfit, and for the entirety of Super, they kept him in a Taco shirt.

This was Frieza's main voice actor for the anime. He was also in some of the games, but he passed away. The voice you hear in kakarot is his other voice actor which is mainly in the games but is in some episodes of super. Which he'll be taking over as the main voice actor of Frieza

Appreciate the hard work getting these out consistently. Personally, I feel like these last two movies and the first batch of Super are the weakest throughout, but at one point in Super you'll see a dramatic improvement due to some issues the production team was having. No spoilers but from that change on, it's crazy good.
I didn't hate BoG or F, though I agree they were having a hard time hitting their stride. Season 3 of the show was when I got hooked. It kind of returns to the old DBZ energy of good old fun.
Probably won't happen for a LOOOONG time cause he still needs to watch Super, but I really hope that Jack reacts to the Broly film.

I find it funny how people always say nobody stays dead in DBZ but the same thing happens in Naruto with reanimation jutsu at any moment you could be resurrected.

Goku getting shot by the laser is a point of much complaint in the fandom. It does make more sense in the anime though where he lets the blue form go and returns to base. Because that at least implies that his power level has fallen drastically. And it's a better way to show that his guard is down.

They kind of retconned how ki worked from this point onwards. It was always implied that the more ki you had meant more speed, strength, durability, etc. In recent Dragonball they've changed it so that you have to FOCUS your ki to become more durable, faster, etc. So Goku letting his guard down is equivalent to letting his ki down, thus he becomes more vulnerable to weak attacks. It's also entirely possible that Sorbet's laser was super advanced technology on par with powerful ki attacks. #RIPSorbet
In fact, it has always worked like this, Ki does not make a person stronger, Ki is the representation of a person's strength. Frieza for example, had no Ki control, so his power is always at maximum. Goku and the Z warriors are able to control their own Ki, and when not fighting, they lower it to the average human level, and in doing so, they are weakened.
Think of Superman for example, he is always at his maximum power and invulnerable, because he cannot control his Ki, however, if he knew how to control Ki, he could decrease it, weakening himself to the human level.

I don't think it ever worked with way you described atleast as it relates to durability. Goku flinched from a stone back in dbz while in super saiyan. It's like you almost had to focus to gain that durability. But yeh, letting your guard down or being weakened screws you. Ei bardock, grenolah and goku himself.
Goku was immune to small arms fire from the start in Dragon Ball, that was before he even knew what ki was, let alone how to focus it. They didn't really focus on extreme ki control until the cell saga with the amped up SSJ forms.
Dragon Ball super continued that trend by having Frieza get massively stronger in Hell just through practicing ki control. Whis also tells Goku and Vegeta that mastering their ki will make their SSB forms ridiculously strong.
In DB and most of DBZ the more ki you had the more powerful you were, no need for any sort of fine control of it.
@@fluffernutter6633 On the contrary, the stronger you were, the more powerful your Ki is, because Ki is your vital energy, Ki is the representation of the user's strength, controlling Ki means knowing how to control your own power. Goku as a child had 10 power level, and he always walked with that power at maximum, when he learned to control Ki, he become able do reduce his power to 1, if he didn't know how to control Ki, he would always walk with 10 power level.
Learning to control Ki also means knowing how to control your strength and spend less energy, anda that was Goku's training in the Cell saga. The SS used a lot of stamina, so he trained on how to control Ki better, to perfect the SS. In fact, this was the same problem they had with the SSB, they had to learn to control their Ki better to overcome this weakness.

I really don't know why the creators for these movies think "now comes the epic fight, lets switch to CGI" as if that would look better. But they always do that, AND IT CAN GET TO RUIN THE WHOLE FIGHT.
I think it's actually to make it easier to animate certain shots/sequences cause it's easier to rotate a camera around a 3d model rather than simulating rotation on a drawing I assume.

Frieza's VA had not passed away by the time this movie came out. It was still Chris Ayres in Resurrection F. He didnt pass away till October of 2021. So, he was Frieza in the Super Broly movie as well.

Even though Frieza gets rolled in this movie nonstop, the fact that he's able to keep pace even for a moment is insane since being able to go Super Saiyan God at all grants Goku and Vegeta IMMENSE power boosts. Like, Goku in this movie could go back in time to fight himself at the start of Battle of Gods and he wouldn't even have to transform to beat his past self, even if Past Goku went Super Saiyan 3.
It is cool that the Japanese VA for Krillin is the voice of Luffy
Buuuut, the English VA for Krillin is also the voice of Ussop for the English version of One Piece. So the ringtone works in both!
I never liked the fact that Final Form Frieza struggled against Base Goku. Don’t get me wrong, it makes sense that Base Goku would still be stronger than Final Form Frieza at this point in time, BUT the thing that bothers me is how much Golden Frieza can close the gap by his one transformation against Goku’s 5 transformations by that much, keeping up with SSJ Blue.

@@18Rada89 Well not exactly. He gets dogged on by base and Super Saiyan Vegeta, and only started becoming a threat when he got enraged, which put him near God level. From then on he just kept steadily increasing in power exponentially by the minute, like OG Broly except he doesn't need to eventually expell the excess energy.
Note when Goku tagged in, he never hit a single solid blow on Broly in base OR Super Saiyan. It wasn't until he went God that he could use a move to hold him still, and the moment Broly was free he immediately Hulk slammed Goku to a point of damn near killing him.
He was straight up dt increasing in power. In base form he's kinda weak, Vegeta in base was keeping him still with nothing but pure muscle strength alone, but the moment he loses his cool and starts going off the deep end, he just doesn't stop getting stronger. The only reason Gogeta best his ass so handily is because the literal *second* Broly gained the upper hand, he transformed and didn't drag things out, and once he went Blue, the gap was too just big, but not without effort, he tanked absolutely everything and the kitchen sink. Mfer is durable and hard to kill, Gogeta had to fuckin nuke the man just to finally put his ass off-balance, and once Broly finally snapped out of it he lost all that built up energy from the looks of it.

Apparently, the author (Akira Toriyama) heard Maximum The Hormone's song "F" (the song playing during Freeza's healing) and that was what inspired him to write this story.

You missed some context Frieza’s voice actor for this movie stepped down from voice acting due to his condition had a replacement to dubbed frieza in Games like Xenoverse, FighterZ, and kakorot also the anime for a few episodes tho he came back to dub frieza in the Broly eventually redubbing the tournament of power episodes for the blu ray release of the anime eventually stopping and passing away in mid October 2021
Just some info anybody interested. The bodys of the super humans/saiyans in DBZ are strong and durable, but only to a point on its own. They enhance that limit with energy and skill. In a completely relaxed state a machine gun wont kill them but will bruise or maybe scrape them a bit. Also SSB is a calm super saiyan, thats why the color is blue, normal super saiyan is using rage (i think in eastern culture they have a color = emotion)yellow/gold being rage. Because SSB is all about calm and controling your energy, its much easier to catch goku (who lets his guard drop when he knows he won) unprepared from a suprise interference. They even showed it earlier with vageta jumping in and punching goku.

Goku has had that letting his guard down, problem since he was a kid. As a young adult, it wasn't THAT bad, but if you pay close enough attention, Whis is 100% right. Ever since Z when it was Zenkai boost after Zenkai boost, it's become habitual.
Honestly I can only remember him letting his guard down against ginyu, aside from that Z didn't have much of him actually letting his guard down, kid goku yeah it happened a couple of times due to his inexperience so that's correct. But the overconfidence thing stopped being a thing after he became an adult.

To answer why Krillins ring tone is the One Piece theme, it's because Krillins English VA plays Usopp and also because Shonen Jump series' like to reference or poke fun at each other from time to time

Super Saiyan God: A saiyan with divine energy (aka god ki). This is technically a transformation but it's really just maintaing divine energy whilst in base form. This form can be obtained through the ritual or through special training.
Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan/Super Saiyan Blue: A super saiyan god transformed into a super saiyan. So for god ki, super saiyan god is base form and super saiyan blue is super saiyan. The reason why they can use blue without being in super saiyan god is because they achieved something what some fans refer to as "saiyan beyond god" which is when a saiyan has learned to use divine energy on their own without the super saiyan god transformation. He didn't voiced Frieza in original Z. He voiced him in Kai, Dbs and games like Kakarot.
