Batman's reasoning is simple: vigilantes aren't above the law. He catches Joker, it's on the courts to decide his fate. And they keep putting him in Arkham.
People want Batman to kill Joker so they don't have to admit he isn't the one who failed. They are.

Which is why I focused on the colorful villains. The ones with big egos that like to walk in first for dramatic entrance. *Followed* by the henchmen who often seem to only be following out of fear. As soon as their leader is Dead, they will flee like rats.
Imagine Joker starts his horrifically bloody crime spree, most people would hear about what he looks like and what he'll do. He walks into a mall, kills the first Security guard that tries to stop him, alerting everyone to his presence. In a densely populated city like Gotham there's very likely 1 or more U.S. Combat Veterans who would do something about it.
(They say Batman can beat anybody with prep time, I would say the US Marines are the closest thing we've got in the real world.)

    • @TimedRevolver
      @TimedRevolver 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

@@spencernaugle Yeah, but it depends on which Joker you're dealing with.
The Nicholson Joker would probably be the easiest to take out. But Joker from that The Batman cartoon?
He fought Batman on even footing and won. Multiple times. If Batman can't beat someone hand-to-hand, a Marine sure isn't.
This is why people like Bronze Tiger exist. He would wipe the floor with most Batman villains.

So, to give context about Plastic Man, how powerful he is and why is he so ignored by DC.
Plastic Man's is capable of shapesshifting and stretching at an extreme point, and is extremely resistant, not in the sense that he is invulnerable, but in the sense that he has been blown up, broken, melted, and he just fuses the separated parts, covers the missing parts, etc. And in that way always recovers in no time
This guy is almost impossible to kill unless you destroy him to a molecular level because if there's at least a part of plastic man somewhere, then he will come back.
He also works AMAZING as an spy, he can transform into objects and other characters with ease and has been used for multiple infiltration missions, also, you saw how locks and stuff like that usually have no chance because he will somehow open them.
Batman who has a plan for EVERYONE, literally has a plan against plastic man that is resumed in "freezing him so that he can't stretch, and keep him there" admitting that they are lucky to have Plasticman on their side.
And because of how OP he is, he isn't used or is left at the backseats. He basically needs to be extremely nerfed if you want to use him and make a story in wich he is not just inmediately winning.

I imagine this is the reason Superheroes don’t tend to ever kill. Because once you kill to solve a problem, you’ll start to see it as a common solution and see yourself as being above the law which is why they usually leave the villains sentences to the people. Batman is afraid of what he’ll become if he ever crosses that line and he’s just a human. Now a super powered alien who can fight and even best gods? That’s terrifying to have as a dictator.

For Batman, is not just about being afraid of becoming senseless to killing, is the fear of becoming the same source of trauma he witnessed as a child. Is the fear of becoming responsible for taking the life of someone's father or son the same way his parents were taken from him. The fear of making someone else's the victim of the same act that changed his life forever. And that also applies to the Joker, doesn't matter how derranged or dangerous he is, ultimately he is also someone's son, and killing him would mean taking away someone's family.

The flash would never side with superman like he does in the game or comics and would 100% be team batman 2. If flash was on team batman he could solve all of the issues ending so much faster then everyone else is (seriously some people legit have no idea how broke his speed is). 3) he fna time travel and stop it from happening but if you write that off asa possiblity in fear of creating a flash point paradox sinario ( of which it should lnt because not enough time has progressed yet to the point that time is not set in stone yet and 4 he could go to a different earth and ask for him from another superman etc...yes it was clumsy they way they killed him off and the biggest issue is how no one seems to acknowledge or address it almost like no one cared that did bother me ABIT but removing him from the play board did not because of how easily the flash could solve this problem@@Andros1921

Joker typically gets off with a ruling of not guilty by reason of insanity. That's why he goes to Arkham instead of being set free. He's still a danger, but just because he's found "not guilty" by a jury doesn't mean he isn't punished for his crimes. He goes to a maximum security mental care facility instead of a normal prison to await a death sentence.
The biggest issue I have with that is I find it hard to believe after so many years of terrorizing Gotham, the jury wouldn't just unanimously find him guilty outright on the off chance he could get the death penalty. That's why juries are handpicked and vetted by the court to ensure that they're nonpartisan.

"Deadwing" is the Injustice's version of "Deadman" who is a legitimate spirit hero in DC Comics. In the comics, Deadman was once an acrobat known as Boston Brand before he was shot mid flying trapeze act. The Goddess of Balance and Karma, Rama Kushna, help him bring his killer to justice but also kept him around to help with other conflicts, aiding others such as Batman, the Spectre, and Justice League Dark.
When you eventually watch the first of the 16 Justice League Animated Movie Universe films that starts with "Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox," you will see Deadman in action when you get to the "Justice League Dark" film (which is in the exact middle of that franchise).

Something that doesn't get touched on enough in a lot of these movies is that Batman's villains do sometimes get rehabilitated. Most are a victim in some way, suffer from mental illness and/or trauma, or have good intentions, so while locking them up may seem like a light punishment, the comics and some of the cartoons will show some of them trying to get better, and like humans, sometimes they make mistakes in that process or regress, but many do successfully become citizens again. Demonic Zatanna annihilates their whole civilization by casting a spell making the vampires only crave coffee. Vampires not drinking blood aren’t gonna last too long.

Ngl, one of the reasons why i love watching you guys, is because you're actually down to try and enjoy things, to have a good time. Because for fans, this is like, BOTTOM OF THE BARREL when it comes to DC films, so seeing you guys actually enjoying the story for what it is, instead of what it isn't (the comics that are adapted here play the story differently), which you've done with alot of other films and shows, is genuinely refreshing and nice to watch.
Kind of a nice reminder that sometimes you just gotta watch a show, instead of trying to see what's wrong with it. You imght end up finding joy in things alot more LOL

As for your second response, there are real life stories of normal, ordinary people forced to share air with people far less evil yet just as dangerous as the Joker, as he is portrayed in this comic/film, and, yes, these real people often try to rid the world of these monsters. So, yes, I along with wr5488 would, in all likelihood, at least attempt to stop this obviously evil plan. Not to mention that we are ordinary people and, again, Batman is the literal number 1 trained person on the planet. Not only she can defeat him, but also Shazam (his lightning is a magical attack), Black Adam (same thing), Doomsday (he can adapt to anything that killed him, and Superman killed him A LOT, so he's the perfect weapon to kill him), Firestorm (he can manipulate matter at atomic level, If he wanted to he could just create a mountain of Kryptonite and kill Superman with it), Captain Atom (he can stop time and manipulate matter just like Firestorm, plus he is as Strong, fast and durable as Superman), Starfire (Non-solar radiation is very effective against Superman, as it reaches the cellular level, and she can generate radioactive explosions many times stronger than a nuke) Raven (she's considered the most powerful magic user in DC comics, sometimes even more than Constantine; her spells are so strong she can kill human beings with a thought, and as I said before, Kryptonians are as vulnerable to magic as humans beings) and many more characters

DC do have a strange habit of doing 'what if the nicest heroes turn bad?' storylines, and given how long Supes has been around he is an easy target. Brought over the edge by the Joker, Injustice is the usual avenue for evil dictator Superman, being the comic event, this movie and a fighter game franchise.
I mean Clark is actually a solid dad, the current comics had him mentor his son Jonathon a lot, until he had to go off-planet, then he left his tutelage in the hands of Nightwing, who also did a great job btw. Jon is like Damian's best friend too so it's like 'our dads are friends so we're basically brothers'.
If Flash pushes himself he can run faster than time itself, the power that enables his super speed is the Speed Force, so he can go back in time with it, but there's often a big butterfly effect. Also, every 'speedster' shares the Speed Force, so its availability can get divided.
Green Lantern can do anything he can will himself to do, the limits of the ring are often based on his mindset, and mostly the bylaws of the Green Lantern Oath but enough willpower can even supersede that
Yes, it is Plastic Man, he is surprisingly powerful given his comic relief and pervy anime guy kinda personality.
They did kill off Dick similarly in the comics, there was rubble there to break his neck but it was still rather weak, the level-headed need to be killed off quickly and if Dick isn't evil (or shot in the head to become an amnesiac but we don't talk about Ric) he's often swatted aside, Hawkman also gets clowned a lot, which is a shame because he's kinda a badass. Turning him into an iteration of Deadman (a ghost hero who similarly to Dick was a circus performer) I think was for the movie only.
Talia was still active when Damian was left with Bruce, it's just that for much of his childhood until then Bruce didn't know he had a son.
26:53 this, is Mister Terrific, specifically the second iteration - Michael Holt. Canonically the third smartest man on Earth. Super intelligent, practically a natural in everything he tries, and a very impressive inventor.
A bright spot for Injustice is that it did really push on Harley Quinn as an antihero, her comedy and charisma did help guide her into being a more independent character too.
31:48 it sounds nuts but, consider human history...
I think with Wonder Woman it's more her culture; she's an Amazon, they're a nation of warriors, she's not squeamish to killing an enemy so long as there's justification. And she believed Superman to be indelible, incorruptible, until he wasn't.
I enjoyed Smallville, it has its iffy parts (and more uncomfortable moments under the context of the Allison Mack stuff) but it was solid and went its own direction, so many good actors hidden in there too. Michael Rosenbaum as Lex is fantastic, and John Glover as Lionel is also awesome.
AMAZO is often like that, Under the Red Hood did tone him down a lot but once he gets a chain of powers going he becomes harder to beat.

So, some important notes: Flash's death. Flash didn't die in the game at all, and he was pretty important to the overall story. However, this movie follows darkside war, where it ends with flash triggering another flashpoint to reset things. They killed him off immediately to raise the stakes and basically take that option off the table here, making everything more final. This is why he dies and no one mentions it afterwards, because its kind of an incongruity between the 'real' story and this adaption (which honestly is pretty damn faithful to the injustice story).
Plastic man is a former thief turned hero and is considered one of the most powerful heros in the DC universe. He basically can alter his form into anything. Not just shape, but composition. In other words, he could make himself into kryptonite and kick superman's ass at will. He's indestructible, and the only countermeasure is extreme heat and extreme cold which only freezes/melts him temporarily. Its a delay tactic, nothing more (this is why batman didn't want him fighting amazo, because if he copied plastic man's powers, it was game over. Really, his only legitimate weakness is mental. He's a jokester and suffers from some self esteem issues (which causes the clowning to compensate). If he truely could gain actual confidence, he'd be op.
Damien was Talia and Bruce's kid. It happened when Talia drugged Bruce and slept with him. He had no idea of his existence until Talia brought Damien to learn from him. It's important to remember that while Bruce considers the league of shadows to be something to stop, the league considers him an asset/future leader, and in fact has proven to be an ally to him when needed.
Damien was brought up to be an assassin and started off in a kill first mentality but has been brought around to his father's way of thinking (through no small help of Jon Kent, superman's son, who basically was his teammate for a while and served as a good influence on him). This growth was kind of the through point to the previous DCAU series honestly. In this though, he's still raw, and yes while he didn't mean to kill Dick, it does cause him to backslide pretty badly.
The guy that played chess with Superman is Mr. Terrific and is one of the smartest people in the DCU. Also, 'deadwing' is basically a take on the hero 'deadman' who is basically a ghost. He did appear in the Justice League Dark movie (Batman calls him by his first name which is Boston).
Captain Atom vs Superman is basically been a long standing debate. Captain Atom is up there in power, and in fact gets stronger when he fully realizes his power (which allows him to not just control radiation, but atoms themselves, and he essentially becomes Dr. Manhatten). Being thrown into space isn't a big deal for him, and its often a tactic he does himself when he needs to burn off extra radiation harmlessly. The main thing though, where supes has the advantage, is he's able to tear captain atom's suit, which wouldn't kill him, but would take him out of the fight (captain atom himself is just energy, its the suit that lets him have a human form). The simulation comment was basically a nod to the constant debate amongst the fans over who would win.

    So Robin 101.
there's 4 imprtant Robins in order of creation Dick Grayson, Jason todd, Tim Drake, Damian Wayne.
Dick Grayson was a circus performer and expert acropbat before being adopted by Bruce after his family got whacked by the Mob, after discovering Bruce is Batman he became The first Robin, after Robin gre up into a teen he would swap back and forth between being Batmans ward and being the leader of the teen titans (most Titans media assume the Robin is Dick grayson unless said otherwise, he'd soon want to become his own hero instead of just a sidekick so he dropped the Robin mantle and became nightwing (later dead man, but you know how comics work so he soon went back to nightwing) still sometimes the leader of the Titans or young justice league.
second Robin, Jason Todd, born into a troubled life and quickly becoming a street rat he was adopted and took in by batman after being caught trying to tire jack the batmoblie. Jason due to being much older and filled with lesser coping capability than Dick quickly became violent as he aged, almost killing multiple thugs and villians. you know the rest of the story from the red hood movie, but what you might not know is that he is now forever the red hood, he hasn't changed his name, but he flips between vengance and care free kid trying to find his place in the world with a group of outcasts that he formed. depends on the writer.
Tim Drake and the most obscure of the important Robins, being the only Robin to find Bruce due to his detective skills after seeing how batman was becoming more unstable from the loss of Jason, Not many major events define Tim Drake as Robin, but he is seen by Batman himself as not only the smartes Robin, but having the ability to be smart than Bruce himself.
After growing up Tim Drake would like the others before him drop the Robin mantle for the "Red Robin" persona instead.
The Last Robin (So far) And the only biological son to Bruce is Damian, a clone (sometimes) Of Bruce after Talia..."acquired" DNA. Damian was raised from birth by the league of assasains, Batman taking responsibility for his child would take him as Robin to try to counter act the violent and cult like teachings of the League of Assasins. Damian is identified as using a sometimes using a sword, being the youngest and the only Ward to still be a child, A hood with his Robin suit, and being so edgy he could get banned from 4chan, While also modding for 4chan.
Over the years he isn't as nad in the comics, and now has a lovingness for animals and keeps many as pets, including the meme worthy "Batcow".

Honestly never a fan of Injustice. This movie isn't bad, but it just shows how far out of character you have to make Clark to be like this. It's Zack Snyder level writing and Diana acts weirdly cold as well.
It was cool to see Catwoman and Huntress as well as Harley and Green Arrow. Damien being here is neat, but his design looks rough compared to other versions. Loved that his big brother forgave him for being incredibly stupid and killing him.

Yeah, of all of the "evil Superman" stories we've got floating around nowadays, Injustice is definitely the weakest. It just removes all the interesting and fun parts of Superman and turns him into Super Dictator. Not to mention all the character assassination for everyone else; Wonder Woman is unrecognisable for example.
It's fine as a concept for a fighting game, which is what it started as. But as a fleshed out storyline it really starts to fall flat.

Also to add this other melt batman code helps him from crossing that line. Because he even realizes that the danger of him crossing it. Maybe it's the joker today tomorrow it's penguin. Next it's a kid who Jay walks on accident. Next is a drunk driver who accidentally ramped up into somebody. Next maybe it may be catwoman. Maybe he might say his justice should be a law. And try to go after others who don't agree. It's just like in the red hood movie it would be too easy. Then it would be to normalize for him to do it. Batman symbol for vengeance return to a symbol of murder. People won't remember Batman as the hero. Difficult down that line he will be remembered as the psychopath. Another killer and a sea of killers that live in gotham. Not killing these villains also has the benefit of him trying to help rehabilitate them. Some of them can be helped you have to find the ones who are willing to accept it. Killing everybody out there won't help. All it does is create the circle of violence. Of murder brutality all over. It won't help anybody. It probably would just make things worse.

This dude had the great teachings of the Kents but still decided to go all batshit after Lois died and Metropolis went up. Superman is supposed to be the beacon of Hope and he would've stood tall and and try his damned hardest to make everything better. Sure, it would've been hard at first, really hard but he still would've pulled through because that's the man he is, even in moments of adversity, he'll still that light that guides people to a better tomorrow.

To give some clarification on Damien (Robin in this one) Batman didnt know he existed until he was about 13. He was raised by Ra's and Talia in the league of assassins. As soon as he was old enough to hold a weapon he started getting trained and taught how to kill, and that there was nothing morally wrong with killing. Talia basically dumped him with Bats due to a civil war ocurring in the league of shadows following the 'permanent death' of Ra's (or something like that). Since than, Bats has been trying to teach Damien why killing isnt the only solution and to balance him out. But his reflexes and impulses are still heavily weighed towards killing his opponents.
