Great video. I got a 22 re. Run the fmf 2.1 for the spark arrestor. Bike felt a little anemic at first. Im 215 lbs AA and ride at 6000 to 10,000 ft in CO. Went with a N8RG needle, clip 3, 38 pilot, 168 main. Rk tek recommended this needle and it rally woke the bike up. He recommended a 40 pilot and 170 main which made it better for slow stuff but it didn't rev as fast so I went down one. I was pretty surprised how rich his suggestion was, but it works so good. this has been my favorite bike, esp. stock, and I've owned a lot of bikes.

Awesome review. You must have read my mind as I have an older 14 300RR that I really really like and was on the fence about keeping or finally upgrading as the newer Beta’s up to 21 weren’t enough difference in my mind to upgrade but it looks like the 22 model is a worthy update. Thanks again and love your video’s.

I brought a new 300RR Rich and I love it. So much smoother than my old 14 in many ways (engine and suspension). I am interested to hear what needle and jets you are running though as mine seems very lean. I’m at sea level and it’s winter here in New Zealand so it’s only about 50f.

Huge fan. Just bought the 2022 300 RR model. Previously had the ktm 300 TPI exc 2020. Both are good bikes, but, the beta takes the price. Has more traction, more low end and high and power. Overall great bike super stoked about the decision.

I owned the 21' 300 sherco and now I own the 22' 300 Beta race edition and I damn préfère the Beta. The Sherco exhausted me quicker than the Beta. I put the 3rd position on the clutch for a softer pull and it's better. I also put a 13 tooth instead of the original 14 on gear, better for my 90+ kg dry on the bike, that allows me to make most of things on 2nd gear. I must also notice that I save my rear tire more than the Sherco because traction looks to be better as you said. Easier to transfer power to the ground. Haven't tried the previous Beta but I can say the MY 22 is a very good bike. Good Job Beta because I enjoy every single ride and I'm still impressed of the potential of the bike even after almost 50 hours on it. 🤙🏼

@@Jamiemx113 First and not the less is the clutch. Much softer on the beta. I feel the chassis very stiff on the sherco, and more physical. The both engine are great but the power delivering on the beta is easier to control. I changed the needle for a N0ZJ and I feel it even better. I'm riding pretty low on altitudes, around 300 to 500 meters. The fork is good for me. I didn't need to improve a lot. Just some clics because I was bottoming on some jump of obstacles and double blips. Same on rear, 4 clics on compression. Didn't touched the rebound cause I like my bike to be agile. The riding position is a little bit more natural for me on the beta. A little bit low on the Sherco. I can compare because I ride Sherco at work, and the Beta for training at home.

@@Cyril_Harperink_87 Thanks for the info! I am riding a 22 sherco 250se but struggling with gearing, did you have any trouble with the bike struggling to pull 2nd gear when you would expect it to? I find myself using 1st gear a lot more than I am used to, currently using 13/51 but have tried 13/52 too.

Try a 12 tooth front. I’ve got 12/49 on my 2017 suped up beta Xtrainer and it pulls up anything. I just need to remember to clip up to 3rd for long Sandy hill climbs now cos 2nd loses a bit of pep during the run up

  • @rhouser1280

Man, I was ready to buy a KTM XCW but after talking to a couple Beta owners & watching some of your videos, I’m sold on Betas. Now I just gotta figure out if I want the RR or the Xtrainer 😂! The price plus the seat height (for me) is the thing that really just puts them in the perfect range! Those extra couple inches make all the difference for the riding I do.

Proud new owner of a '22 Beta 300 Race here. I can honestly say that your content and candor on the '21 model pushed me in this direction. I came off of a YZ250fx which was an awesome bike in its own respect (especially in the type of terrain we find here in Missouri) but this Beta is just something spectacular. Twelve hours in and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The linear power curve and 'tractor-ability' is literally the best of both worlds. When I run out of talent, this bike says "don't worry bro I got you." In places where my 250fx would have flamed out, the beta doesn't even notice. 10/10 would recommend. Bonus points awarded for an awesome dealer network and a legit warranty. 12/10 final score

@@IRCTireUSAMoto Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge and producing such great, and most importantly useful, content on your channel.
Unrelated but on the topic of the 300. I noticed you immediately removed the head and taillights (mine came with the mismatched RR graphics on the number plate too). With the price difference of $1k between the RX and the RR Race, I wonder if/when they'll add another model to the line similar to the xc from KTM and FX/X from Yamaha. Had it been an option, I would have gone with the Race motor, rear wheel and suspension without all the unnecessary lights, switchgear, trip computer and heavy wiring harness. The extra coin and weight savings would have been nice to offset some of the cost of the extra protection bits.

    • @IRCTireUSAMoto
      @IRCTireUSAMoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

For sure I wish they’d make a similar XC version. I take all that stuff off because I’ll end up breaking it. I don’t really need a head light or speedometer. I prefer the wide transmission of the XCW’s and with the RR we also get the 18” rear tire.

    im loving my 22
coming off a husky carbs i felt like the bottom end was flat as you described compared to my 18 with a pwk36
i found for my riding style and likes that richening up the pilot to a 40 ( calls for a 38 for my altitude and temp)
and adjusting the air screw to about 1.75 gave it a touch more pull off the bottom. I also opted to try the beta factory silence ( think its a dep one) this surprisingly gave me more a hair bottom also.

Interesting to hear what you think about carburator settings. I also believe the bike does work a lot better when carburated a smidge richer than the previous version. The air screw is an important factor, as when a bit richer the bike is more luggable and brings you up the 2-3 feet extra on an uphill you would otherwise not make. You would lose though on snappyness - another made out dirt bike word :))

So I switched from a Gas Gas(ktm) to Beta. The turning radius definitely took a bit of getting used to. Once I adapted, added bolts to the steering stops, and made it so the forks touch the radiators at each full lock, I became much more comfortable. Truthfully with proper form I can still out turn most riders no matter the brand.

@@IRCTireUSAMoto No doubt. I’ve adapted and also adjusted the steering stops.
