Our betas came with grease oozing out of all the bearings which is a first for me owning a lot of bikes
Yeah. Stoked about that
I'm not an engineer, but I do work for an Italian manufacturing company. Manufacturers don't add extra components (like an extra spark plug and coil) just for fun , unless there is some benefit - it all adds cost. From what I've seen Beta are a much more conservative manufacturer - changes come slowly, which can be a good thing.
I'm excited too!! because I'm looking for a 300 and this bike is on the top of my list! I was just going to say True North is my local shop!! Thats who I will be going through for sure! 😎🤙
It's the most beautiful head light ever 😂
😂😂
Heck yeah Beta been stepping their game up and i'd like that blue part for the map switch
Oh. You want that thing? Email me morgan@highland-cycles.com
Wow way to go through it! I would have just thrown some premix in and rode it. 😅. I'll bet your gonna really like it.
@12:06 Haven't heard a really good "well anyway" in the middle of a thought in a while!!! hahahahaha Looking forward to this series!
Pretty interesting with the dual plugs, haven't seen that on a dirt bike since the 70's , I have been wanting to drop by True North and check out their shop. They are located about 20 miles from me and half way between where I normally ride up in Shelton Wa., Beta looks good so far, nothing like that new bike smell.
Nice one, can't wait for the other videos. I wish you all the best with it! 👍
I agree. Incredible looking bike, but that headlight is absolutely horrendous! Keen to hear your ride report!
Way to go beta!!!! Awesome, cant wait for the first ride!!!!
Really liked this one especially because you're working on a new bike and you're pulling it apart. Look forward to the next vlog 👌
your energy is so above that I dream of sharing your state of mind. Cheers and much love
18:39 Get the IMS mode switch bracket and run it on the handlebar. That tank location blows. I switch mine all the time while racing enduros. It comes stock with the larger IMS tank but they sold me one separately for my 300rr re. Makes taking the tank off much less a hassle. I keep the blue shield and just redo the drain hose into the same frame zip tie that holds the power valve splooge hose. Easy peasy...
Happy new bike day!!!
Awesome vid
Extremely jealous
Keep ‘em coming thank you
Looking forward seeing the bike out on the trails👍
This weekend
Been waiting for this let’s go! getting mine this spring l!
Your the only one I know who would tear down a new bike. Gotta love it. Keep up the great work.
Thanks, will do!
Hey love your channel. Been watching for a long time now. My boys and i ride ktms, huskys, but just ordered a 24 xtrainer low boy for my wife. Look like great bikes. Keep up the great videos
Pretty excited for this build series. My new Beta 300 race should be here in 2 weeks. Funny part my other bike is a 23 300xc as well lol. Keep up the good work looking forward to following this build.
Good taste
Great content I like the double plug plus I think you can fit a kick start also.
Great mountain bike
Nice,Im glad it has grease in it ,my 23 yz250x had to completly take apart and put waterproof grease in it.waiting for demo day to ride before buying one, great to see you doing what i always do,great winter project ,good luck.
Thanks
Excited to sse what you do to this bike and your riding impressions. I have a 2012 Beta 498 and the last Beta 300 I rode was a 2013. I'm going on a local beta Demo days because I'm thinking of getting another 300 (had a 2005 KTM 300EXC).
Nice bike! I’m beta curious.
You and me both!
Nice! Yay new bike!! Look forward to the upcoming videos..
As far as the map switch…ditch the silly blue plastic tank cover thing and use a piece of 3m vhb double sided tape and stick it to the frame in the same location…makes tank removal easier.
It’s gone already
The button on the seat 🔥, but we’ll see how resilient it is.
Morgan mania to come...
100k by 2025 it's in the bag buddy!!!
Pull one plug and put a compression release on..old school..lol
🤣
@ 2:30 I hear Cecilia playing on your radio.🎼❤
Yep
Yup, Great name for the new beta. Cecilia
I just got mine yesterday, I quite like the headlight. The weird air vent in it is odd, but whatever. Also both of mine were very well greased, I think that may just be the way it is now.
Morgan! Thank you for trying out the map switch bracket on the new 24 race edition. Beta updated the frame on all 2024 race edition. I'm designing a new map switch bracket as we speak!
Awesome
Great video, my Beta was well greased everywhere too. Be interested to see what you think of the stock KYB valving...I not a fan !
I don’t love it but I don’t hate it. It requires speed to work.
Nice! 🇺🇸😀👍
Well as an engineer, I dont have a clue, but my other hobby is ultralight aircraft and the are using two plugs as a reliability concern. My guess is it has something to do with that as well. But my ktm plug never fouls but I guess some do foul and they hard to get to.
Was here to be the first comment but I was beat! Love the bike bro.
Would be interested what do you think about the KYB forks and their valving and how does that compare to the WP6500 cartridges? Think about eithet updating my KTM or swap it for a Beta. Great content btw, cheers
The minibike hanging from the ceiling has Arnaco shocks. Who knows what those are?
supposedly you can limp back if one plug fouls. What my dealer said about two spark plugs
i have barely used bike days.. pretty good and a lot cheaper!
best seat covers are those carhart seat savers.
Dude!
Not only that you could pull one plug and put in a compression release. Better throw a fan on that puppy, they get hot.
Coming
OTYKEN
s0cool-nice
red&blue
& coolest 'stroll walk' engine
Instead of the second plug , do what they did back in the day and add a compression release? Lol
Nice ride. I'll be curious to see the ride review, and the testing results on the head. 🤘
Two questions:
Could you clamp the hose on the radiator, then slip the hose into the frame?
The Rad guards don't seem to protect the sides of the radiators?
You might be able to do that with the hose but you’d still have to get it on the other radiator. The radiator guards don’t go over the edge but they provide protection because they stiffen everything up. I have used them on every bike of mine for over 10 years and they are amazing
Where’s the kickstarter kit?! I figured that would be installed immediately.
Coming. Want to wear out some oil first
Jealous. Mine is on order right now. Wont be able to ride it until march or april tho since im away from home.
Sportsman Cycle in Las Vegas is a super great Beta Dealer and Race Tech suspension pro. No I don’t work for them.
Ok, Las Vegas is a horrible place that I never want to visit again unless I absolutely have to.
Plug arrangement is interesting, I have some theories about that, but no real engineering or data to back up my thoughts. I wouldn’t be surprised if both the dual plug head and tamper resistant bolt are for euro emissions.
I’ll be interested to see how you like the stock alloy pegs. I found them slippery and a waste of time. The steel version on the standard model are better and a good swap. Great to Beta have sorted the steering lock.
Yeah. They just look slippery to me. I have carapaks stainless pegs to put on.
Betas graphics/color schemes always look overly busy to me. If they took a chill pill on that, they would look so much nicer... JMO lol!
I agree.
Yea 🤮
Yup.
Yep. When I get my graphics it’s going to look great
🤘🤘
🤘🏻🤘🏻
I liked last years factory red front guard
Yeah. This bike isn’t going to look like this long
Are those the production rad guards or were those modified for your build? I am ordering all the parts for my 390 and they don't have the rad guards available yet.
They are production.
Does that long silencer make it quieter? I would love to make my bike quieter for 'stealth operations'.
It does for sure.
Betas always felt heavy to me but the numbers don’t reflect that, at least not on this 24
I've read that with the dual spark plug and the proper oil, you can actually time travel, lol
🤣😂
Yeah like go back to the 70’s 🤣😂
Klotz Benol for sure.
Why do people remove the thermostat on their bikes? I’m intrigued to know the science behind it, I know it’s popular to do but unsure why?
We use to do this to our cars in the hot summer to let the coolant flow better
I took out my thermostat in my car it caused it to boil and get hot 🔥
Mainly because it’s a possible fail point with no real purpose unless you ride in really cold temps
@@highlandcycles so removing it keeps your fan on all the time?
@@tonn333 no. Not the thermoswitch
I know you’ve said this is named after someone, grandmother? And that’s cool. All I can think of is the Simon and Garfunkel song. So…I hope this one does not break your heart.
No I didn’t. It’s named after that song
Ditch the green cap on bottom of gas cap. It'll vapor lock.... or hopefully just fall off in your tank. And ditch the stock tires they're stiff and suck.
I did that.
I had literally less than one hour on my '24 300 RE and went to remove the green piece, but it was already gone! I tried looking for it in the tank but didn't see it, so I will be removing the tank and fishing it out soon. I've been looking for a Free Flo breather tube, but they seem to be out of stock everywhere.
It's possible your dealer was smart enough to remove it for you.
@@johngarcia206 That's possible, but if they did, they forgot to remove the o-ring as well. I'll find out here pretty soon when I remove the tank to install the fan kit and rad guards.
I am interested that you are removing the thermostat I have been thinking about doing the same but worried about cold Seizers but you ride in a lot colder temperatures than we have over here!
It’s absolutely unnecessary
@@highlandcycles That’s the most straight to the point answer I have had thank you👍👍
Are you a beta testor if you ride one because beta testing things we paid for is fun. :)
the dual spark plug and dual coil are such a turnoff to me that I think id buy the 250 over the 300 simply to be rid of that goofy system.
I think you just put last years head on and unplug the coil
What coolant do you recommend for a 4 stroke?
Anything in a 4T
Still havnt seen him put the galon jugs of moose joose on his web page or Amazon look all time because want one.
Dang. I’ll talk to him
@highlandcycles unless he's sold out every time I look. I use with my lucioli so don't chafe tire when aired down. Nice stuff
Why remove the thermostat?
Fail point that is unnecessary
mileage test would be great
For sure
@@highlandcycles seems that Betas after 2020 are more thirsty than previous years...thank you I enjoy your vids a lot !!!
I'm a mechanical engineer but I don't know why two plugs would be good or bad.
I don’t think it either. Just in unnecessary
Some high performance car engines run twin spark setups, so probably to ignite the fuel more accurately? 🤔
Weird tomhave the spark lugbthreads protrude into the combustion chamber .. doesn’t look optimal
The radiator cap is a non issue and kinda crying over nothing, they can’t please everyone, overall it is a great bike guy.
Most didn’t have an issue but I’ve seen plenty
The blue rims look better than those black rims. Just sayin
There's nothing ugly about Cecelia 😡and the weight!!..... Like I said on FB, she's the "supermodel" of dirt bikes🤣
Colour scheme: polar opposites
I think the red and black betas are good looking bikes. The red and blue doesn’t work for me.
Be a nice bike without black rims.
🤣😂🤣😂 who cares. I hate the headlight but it doesn’t effect how good of a bike it is
@@highlandcycles Where I am we ride in the woods, sometimes without an actual trail. So, after its first ride those black rims on your new high dollar bike can look trashed.
@@rposton919 so? I don’t care about that. I’m also not careful when changing tires on my own bike. I scratch them up like crazy jamming mousses in there because I hustle through the job since I don’t get paid on my own bike. We ride in nasty rocks and rims get bent and scratched like crazy. As long as they hold a tire I’m good.
My opinion- naming your bike is lame
My opinion- Utah Desert Rider is the least imaginative, original name for a TH-cam channel ever.
Anyway whatever
🤘🏻🤘🏻
Who made their headlight uglier? Gas gas or beta?
Tough one
