I bought a similar rolling pantry at Wal-Mart. You made it look so easy to put on the sleeves. They've been absolute HELL for me to clamp on. Your box trick is genius! Thank you so much for this helpful video!
Doug Szeto You're welcome, thanks for the compliment. Those little sleeves are a pain, but when they are on right, somehow they stay stuck, really bizarre.
This is EXACTLY the help I need to assemble these shelves in my weaving studio alone. They just arrived...if only I had all the parts that should have been included...this job would be easy, even for a 72-year-old woman! Perfect video - no wasted jabber. Well done - Thank you!
You just made my morning ! I have two shelves with wheels to assemble - I was having coffee and procrastinating - then I decided to see if anyone had some hints on you tube - PERFECTLY EASY! Ha Ha - I just noticed that you published this on my birthday!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I purchased one from Costco, I lost the little brochure with the instructions, I went few times back at Costco to look again at their assembled floor one and I struggled a lot because I still didn't figure out how to do it. Your video is so good, clear and easy and fast. YOU SAVED ME LOTS OF TIME. Thanks again and ALL THE BEST WISHES.
I got a small 3 shelf cart from walmart. I got step one ok. From then one nothing was working. Before went 5150 (crazy) I remembered u tube might have something. Son I thank you for your video. Even a 72 yr old grandma can learn something new everyday.
Okay, I'll try again, thanks to YOU! The movers disassembled mine and instructions are who-knows-where and I spent a very frustrating Sunday trying different methods to reassemble these and quit in tears and frustration! Appreciate this. You do make it look sooooooo easy, wish me luck!
Thank you for creating this video. The manufacturer refers the customer to an interactive app which doesn't help if you don't have a smart phone or pad. It's not rocket science. Your video was extremely helpful.
this video was great, and I was able to put this together by myself after viewing, putting the shelf on a box was key, to both know how hight you want the shelf, but also in order to do this by yourself. thankyou so much for posting!!
Thanks for this video. I assembled one today and your video helped out a lot. Just for future people who might do this mine came with 8 extra parts because they had already put the connectors for poles A and B and the caps in for me so don’t get freaked out.
Many thanks for this. You've saved me a lot of time. The included instruction sheet (if you could call it that) was pathetic. The trick with the box at the beginning was worth the price of admission alone. Good work and, again, thank you.
. re 1:00 If you use the more stable assembly option 3(p.5): Two 3-shelf racks (rather than one 6-shelf rack), the bottom receiver of the bottom poles, is crimped tight, but (re 4:00) the connectors at the bottom of the top poles must be removed (might need a pipe wrench, not included), and the bottom receiver(4:adapters in a separate bag) must be tightened into the poles, using any corner shoulder of the included wrench, as a 'screw driver. . re 1:15 Note the top of the caster has a 'bolt head', which must be very firmly tightened into the bottom of the pole, to prevent the caster mounting bolt from loosening & bending under normal moving loads. If you move the shelves often, I recommend re-checking their tightness periodically. Bending or failure of a caster bolt or wheel jacket, by overloading can, of course, cause the shelves to topple, tossing the contents onto people nearby. . FWIW: All of my caster ball bearings were about 1/64" too loose, putting shift impacts on the casters every time they are moved or stopped. [TBF-9910-1 & TBF-9909-1, 2020 May 18] . re 1:50 "Taper facing up" means smaller at the top ... it also says "top" (black on black). Make sure the first half is 'stuck' in a ring groove. . re 1:53 Note that even when properly positioned, the two halves of the shelf-pole collar('sleeve') do have a 1/8" gap, but the ends are snug against the pole (no crescent space). If there is a crescent gap, slide it up or down until it snaps snugly in place. . re 2:20 Think ahead, about which casters you want to be lockable. You might want them on one end, one side, or diagonal, depending on how you will move, load, or anchor your shelves. Bear in mind during movement, that the shelves are least stable (more easily tipped over) if the wheels are under the rack. . re 4:00 Two of these connector fittings were already very tightly installed in the upper poles, and I had to carefully clamp them & use a pipe wrench to remove them for the stationary footing adapters (Option#3; p8, step 5, 4th image). In retrospect, maybe I could have used heat or cold to loosen the factory installed couplers to reduce the risk of deforming the upper poles. . My kit came with one spare shelf collar. They do crack & get lost, so I suggest putting all of your spare parts in a bag attached to the underside of a shelf, in case you decide to re-configure your shelves one day.
Very helpful... thank you for your post! Worked like a charm for my first shelving unit installation. I couldn't find my rubber mallet, but my hammer had a good rubber grip that worked very well. You don't need to hit it very hard.
Thank you very much! Much better than the instruction which says start with bottom shelf (F) but drawing shows F at the top. Would be nice if instructions for things made in China are written by people with actual knowledge of the procedures and use English as primary language. Am glad there is google.
Very helpful video; I acquired the shelves second hand so the video was very helpful and the using the box at the beginning was a very good tip. ...Thanks :)
I wish i had googled first like i always do. If only i had found your very useful tricks first. Whoever wrote the user's manual for that product... frustrating. Sometimes a picture is not worth 1000 words. Thank you so much for your clear instructions.
I just assembled one and used one alternative idea: I screwed the four casters/wheels onto the four A poles first, before involving any shelves. Then, with the first shelf either up on a box or on its side, you slip the four poles through.
I'm an avid dumpster diver and I found a brand new shelves the other day. The only problem is they don't have the slip sleeves. Any ideas on how I could make my own or maybe use something as an alternative? I'm a cheap old man and I don't want to spend money if I can make my own or find an alternate way.
I've seen this type (not exact) : amzn.to/2xXhiod Used in large indoor sprout farms, the kind of place that grows sprouts for juicing and salads. I've used that type of shelving as well for storing and watering trays of sprouts outdoors, (I built an automated watering system for the shelving out of tubing, garden hose timer amzn.to/2fUkkon and misting nozzles.) This is a good video instruction for Costco Trinity shelves that applies to Seville Classic shelves from Amazon. However, like all of the videos I have looked at so far, it does not show how to level the feet and it does not warn to put the locking feet on the same side.
OMG...mind 🤯 . This is how they should instruct you to assemble the unit. This method is so much easier and allows for easier shelf height adjustments.
Thank you for your video! I have a question now: I have a commercial shelving like this one. but one of its wheels and its pole broken because I put heavy stuffs on it. I have to change them. Do you know where I can buy these parts? thank you again!
IF you have the wire shelves they sell at Costco.. I think this is where you can get parts: shop.trinityii.com/index.php?id_category=17&controller=category
Can you, in essence, leave the bottom shelf off so there's room underneath to vacuum or sweep the floor? In other words, is it possible to set the lowest shelf up higher, at a height equal to where you placed the second from bottom shelf on your unit?
Thanks for the comprehensive explanation but I don’t see what makes these industrial beside the wheels. I’m sure your uses the exact metal than all the other similar and cheaper shelving systems from other manufacturers.
I bought this exact same shelf and I am stuck halfway. The vertical poles A and B don't connect. The connector C doesn't connect at the top of A. I don't know if I'm missing a step. The shelf is only half the height. The included instructions are not very helpful at all.
We just now are having the same problem. It appears the wrong bottom poles were included in the packaging, perhaps should have gone with a 3 shelf unit. Those lower poles must be topped with a female thread to attach with the included connector. Instead, they are permanently sealed with a metal cap - no possible way to join the two poles. Hoping Costo has another pack which will have the correct poles. The other one we purchased a few days ago and assembled is perfect. Otherwise, we love these shelves.
I shouldve watched this video first instead of following the directions. It's hard installing it alone and having the four vertical poles connected first. It didnt take me long but I can imagine someone of a shorter statue or not as strong struggling.
It's very sad there was many vedio people just recoding with out the black colour clip which holds up the self was should be up and which side should be down as well the shelves.. seriously inside the manual also dsnt show a diagram.. its seriously a bad invention as the people whom recording it.. . The fixing of shelves was a thecniuqel work and its was very difficult task. That's why there was many people do vedios still wit lack of information..😢
Very bad assembly instructions! Trying to drop the second shelf onto the four poles without two people was insane. When I finally line them up it fell and pinched my finger and gave me a blood blister blister. It should be on its side when you slide the shelf on so you can easily put it over the four holes and it won’t jam and fall on your hand and pinch your finger.I got injured because of this video. Very bad
The wheels and the poles could be better explained as they do NOT seat as easily as the printed directions state and the video ironically avoids showing EXACTLY how to get the wheels to ‘lock’ into place! Alas, attempting to wheel the shelves around is tricky when maneuvering over a transition piece in a floor (from a room to say a closet). The uneven action of lifting to go over a transition causes the wheel(s) to literally fall OFF! I cannot get the wheels to ‘seat’ properly… they get hung up INSIDE the tube and won’t pass over the ring it is intended to ‘lock’ past. It is too dangerous to attempt moving these shelves for me… it is going BACK for a refund… unfortunately and sadly, they were a great idea for my situation 🫣🤨☹️

For one person assembly: I thought about the box before seeing the video and now this is confirmation..Brilliant!

Thank you, your video solved some of the questions we had about assembling our Seville Classics Heavy-Duty Commercial-Grade Utility Cart, NSF
EXCELLENT tips I found this after my shelf was half done and wobbly.. thank you!!!
Thank you for creating this video. The manufacturer refers the customer to an interactive app which doesn't help if you don't have a smart phone or pad. It's not rocket science. Your video was extremely helpful.
Thanks for a GREAT video! Much easier assembly than how I've seen others do. Worked perfectly using the box as a prop!!!
wow, wish i saw this before I struggled to assemble mine!
Love these shelves. Have 10 of them. Like the 1st step with the box. Never tried that one while I assembled mine.
they are great, i just bought another rack... that box trick is great, saves that awkwardness at the start
You made my life so much easier!! Thank you so much!!! Our family appreciates it
I was so grateful for your suggestions and clear directions. Now to assemble
this video was great, and I was able to put this together by myself after viewing, putting the shelf on a box was key, to both know how hight you want the shelf, but also in order to do this by yourself. thankyou so much for posting!!

Some of the extra parts are in case you want to make 2 shorter shelves. Others are just extra :)
Now to go get a new rubber mallet. Excellent tutorial.
This was so helpful! Thank you for posting. I put it together easily and quickly.
Thank you! I would have followed the instructions and done the wheels last. The rubber hammer tip was great too. Good video.
Many thanks for this. You've saved me a lot of time. The included instruction sheet (if you could call it that) was pathetic. The trick with the box at the beginning was worth the price of admission alone. Good work and, again, thank you.
I am SO grateful to find your video! You just made my life much MUCH easier!! Thank you thank you!!
Thank you! Just put 5 of these together with my friend and it only took us 40 mins, start to finish!
nice.

Thanks for the tips! Where did you buy the boxes? What are their height?
Very helpful video; I acquired the shelves second hand so the video was very helpful and the using the box at the beginning was a very good tip. ...Thanks :)
When you got a set of lockable wheels does one go on the back and one go on the front
Thank you! Even though this is an older video and older model, it really helped me see the big picture first.
Very easy very very much needed to see

I bought an open box set of these shelves at auction and the assemble parts are missing. Do you know how I could get the kit? Thanks for the video.
Can I get those connectors to make double rack in the market?
My sleeves never clipped together on both ends, there was a small gap on one of the sides so if you have that problem mine still assembled fine.
I'm an avid dumpster diver and I found a brand new shelves the other day. The only problem is they don't have the slip sleeves. Any ideas on how I could make my own or maybe use something as an alternative? I'm a cheap old man and I don't want to spend money if I can make my own or find an alternate way.

wouldn't plastic shelving be better?
i honestly don't know what plastic shelves I would use. If you have a suggestion it would be much appreciated!!

Where did you buy that rubber mallet?
Hi, this is very helpful. I wonder if the rack would stand properly even if I put the bottom most shelf high (about 2 feet) above the floor? Tia.
that should be ok. the rods and shelves are sturdy.
OMG...mind 🤯 . This is how they should instruct you to assemble the unit. This method is so much easier and allows for easier shelf height adjustments.
yep, I struggled so much building these before, I had to develop a better way!
Muchas gracias sin su ayuda no lo hubiera echo❤
Well done. Thanks for sharing!
Big thank you for this video!!!
Thank you so much. This helped me a lot.
Great Video !!!

I don't see why you couldn't do that, it might be a little wobbly if you roll it around, but I bet it would be fine.
Just assembled it minus one shelf and I left about a foot at the bottom to vacuum under. It's perfectly sturdy.
This is brilliant! Thank you.
You're welcome!
So much easier- thanks!
is it possible to fit it together with the shelves upside down.
I don't see why not. The fastening is handled by the plastic collet, not the shelf itself.
Once assembled, how do I get the sleeves off to be able to reset the height of the shelves?
+Marsha Harris hit the shelf you want to move with an upward strike, then reposition the split collars and reset the shelf.
Thank you for this video.
